The drive through the entrance to the parking lot was scenic and well marked. At the lake we met Grace and Wes who outfitted us with life jackets and made sure we knew where to go. We also saw a map of where not to go. They are asking for people to not go near the dam, but that wasn't an issue as there is a ton of open space to explore. The lake was quiet, scenic, and beautiful! Without jetskis, boats, etc we were able to hear birds and fish jumping in the water. The sounds of nature really made it seem like an escape that would only be experienced much further away. The two hours flew by, and we are already planning another trip back. Sixteen days ago I ordered a knife (Chris Reeve Green Beret) from CastleGate Knife & Tool. The website says they usually ship within three days of a purchase. I placed the order on January 21, 2026 and received an order number and confirmation that my form of payment (card) had been billed. I've confirmed that my card was billed on that date. Now sixteen days later I have no knife, can get no answer to multiple phone calls, no response to email or voicemail. The knife in question is no longer listed on their website. What I fear is that the knife was not in stock and they're holding the payment. On their website my order now shows as "Awaiting shipment". My problem with that is that Chris Reeve website shows a 5 year wait period for that knife. If CastleGate does not have the knife the wait period could be extensive. No communication from them and no explanation, and no refund. I prefer to have the knife but if that's not possible I'd certainly like to have a refund. Very poor communication on the part of CastleGate.

WOW what a time. My…read morefriend and I signed up with this company to take us on a 2 day extreme class IV/V Overnight rafting trip on the Arkansas river. We both have experience with this company from rafting the Upper Salt River in AZ. Unfortunately the water levels didn't cooperate but, the rafting company modified the itinerary to give us the best possible adventure possible. Day upper upper Browns Canyon which led to class I've and the use of duckies. Operation am not a fan but, half of our group loved them. We were then driven 1.5 hours away for our dinner and tent camping (3 miles from our put in). Ryan and Eric our guides cooked a great meal and catered to the group. We awakened to a mist and heavy fog, which we were served pancakes and sausages for a warm breakfast, and let's not forget hot coffee. We then departed at 8:30 for our trip down the Royal Gorge were we hit class in rapids, lots of class 3s, great geology, good company, lots of fun and a great experience. Ryan our lead guide and Eric did a great job for 2 days of providing us a great experience and memories. You have many choices but from a personal experience this is the best company to deal with. We are already planning next year's multi day trip.
