Went to get a pair of cleats for my grandson. There were two unfriendly young men there working and no other customers. I have no experience buying cleats. So I had some questions. All questions were answered with one syllable words. Finally, with the lack of information, I was still able to choose two pairs of shoes. When the young man came back with the shoes, he dropped both pairs on my seven-year-old grandson's lap and walked away. The lack of customer service and consideration was mind-boggling. We're from California and I've been to many Dick's Sporting Goods, but never have I had the rudeness and disrespect that I experienced at this store. Came here to buy running shoes and training gym shoes my wife, but they did not have the cloud x4 she was looking for. So they did not have On Cloud shoes at all. We did buy my On Cloud shoes at the Ohio location so we are just gonna have to drive to that one. read more

I arrived at this store today to get one item at 7:48 when it closed at 8:00, as stated on the website and on the door outside. The sliding doors were locked and wouldn't open. There were two employees just standing by the door just talking and joking to each other, leaning by the registers that clearly didn't care about working and wouldn't open the doors for me. You missed out on my business and the business of someone else who tried to stop here. I will be going to Cabela's from now on since this place clearly doesn't want my business. read more

I know they're not super hip anymore but I really missed the days I spent as a kid rollerblading so I popped into Dick's to see if they carried them. Relive my youth and whatnot. And they do! I was able to try them on and grab some pads (I'm not 13 anymore and if I could wrap myself in bubble wrap I would, but the knee, wrist, and elbow pads will have to do!). I also grabbed a pair of bike shorts and some new socks. As I was walking around the store I realized, I don't think I've ever been inside there before. I know I've done some curbside pick ups of gear before but I had never gone inside. And I was impressed. They had so much gear, including a bit of outdoor camping goods, bikes, home gym equipment, supplements, shoes, clothes, safety gear, etc etc. A one stop shop, indeed! As I was walking around I had several employees check on me and ask if I was finding everything ok. I know other reviews have said service felt lacking so I wanted to mention that I had the opposite experience this time. Check out was also very easy and the clerk was super friendly. I asked an employee if they had winter hats anywhere else besides this one shelf I was near, and he said the only other place was a rack of men's Carhartt hats. After walking around more, I ended up finding multiple other places in the store with winter hats besides that rack. Unfortunately, they started turning out all the lights at 8:45 pm despite multiple customers still shopping in the store, so I couldn't really look at what I wanted with the lights out. I went in a couple weeks later to return something, and the cashier gave me a coupon that I could use the same day. Since they were going to be closing, he said I could use it in the next "52 minutes." After I started browsing for no more than 5 minutes, they started turning off all the lights again, this time at 8:15 pm, 45 MINUTES before their closing time. I promptly left since I realized they'd obviously rather get rid of customers than make sales. When I walked out the door, there was a couple standing there looking confused on whether the store was still open. They ended up walking back to their car. read more

Bought a bike from them yesterday (sept 3 2022) and was riding it home when i noticed that the wheels were wobbly. Took it back and they said it was fine to ride for now. On my way back home, the bike stopped on its own (wheels probably collided with the brakes) and I fell hard. I had to go to the ER and found out that I fractured a part of my elbow. Have to be in a splint/sling for atleast 6 weeks. Would not recommend. read more

I had never found a reason to set foot inside this store before today, but when I called and found out that they had a Jet Sled Jr in stock, they were a hot destination. A Jet Sled is a plastic toboggan with a rope handle that is perfect for hauling stuff around in the snow. Also great for an entry level dog sledding experience, if you drill a hole at the back and attach a brake rope. The person with whom I spoke had it waiting at the register for my arrival. THANKS! While I was there, I took a quick tour of the store. Heavy in golf and hunting. Lots of camping & outdoor gear, athletic shoes and sturdy boots. I found a pair of gloves that I can wear when I ski. Saw some replacement parts for CamelBaks and stored that away for future reference. I didn't see anything that was in the vein of yoga / Pilates / physical therapy type equipment, but I didn't make a systematic search. I decided to sign up for the free rewards program. I've been to this location a few times, but mostly end up making my purchases online because this store has very little inventory for the things I like to buy, apparently. The one time I made a purchase, I was looking for a bike trainer and purchased the one they had on the shelf. Nearly two months later they still don't have another bike trainer in that spot on the shelf! Inventory is a little better for basic sports wear, but you can't find a lot of the pricier tech stuff in-store. I was hoping to find a good reflective jacket for winter running, but they don't have the Nike Flash (or even the lesser reflective jackets) in the store. Helpful staff, willing to walk with you throughout the store if you can't find what you need right away, and if they aren't able to answer your question they'll grab an employee that works a specific department to help you out. When I explained my situation, saying that I needed a red shirt but didn't want to break the bank since it was just for a one-time pickup soccer game, the woman I spoke with was helpful enough to direct me to Target where I could pick something up far cheaper. Overall I was very satisfied with the way the employees handled themselves and, while it was too pricey for what I was looking to accomplish, their selection was good enough that I would go back if I ever needed something a bit more durable for any athletics. read more

We ran here after our Amazon purchase was a no-show. We needed a tent for Bonnaroo and were leaving in 8 hours. This is a newer Dick's sporting goods in town. It's very clean and bright. The staff was very helpful--dragging our large tent around the store for us and bringing it to the front while we made other decisions. The cashier was even kind enough to go digging for my old Dick's account and change my address and phone number--no one forced me to go online and figure it out myself! Yay! read more

Every time I leave this store I feel grumpy. It's frustrating when the sales people, when you find one, can't answer your questions. Yesterday I asked 3 different sales people a basic question and finally it was the shoe guy who gave me some info about the shirts I was looking for. This review is specifically about the Golf Department. Short review -- fantastic experience and you shouldn't hesitate to get your clubs at Dick's. I was finally in the market for a new set of clubs -- could run you a couple thousand but I had around $600 to deal with, max. There were no good reviews online, in fact there weren't really any golf reviews for Dick's that I could find besides skeptical views from "golf pros". I went to the nice shops at golf courses or driving ranges, and got great help there too but was getting $1,200 proposals -- not an option. Did some online research on the clubs, and then found that Dick's had them and went. I couldn't possibly have been happier. I worked with R.C. at the Ann Arbor location, spent an hour or so hitting clubs and reviewing the results, and got some truly great input from R.C. In the end, I left with a new bag full of wonderful TaylorMades that we made fit into my price point. I couldn't be happier with this experience, and would happily suggest it to others looking for great help. read more

This is a good Dick's Sporting Goods and it's newer and clean and customer service is great, but as far as merchandise I feel that it is lacking in some areas as mentioned by one of the other reviewers. Clothing is decent but not as good as the selection that I've found in the Madison Heights and Novi stores but the sports gear is much less here than (particularly) the Madison Heights store. It reminds me a lot of the store in the East Lansing area because it is spacious and well designed but not always good for selection. If you do need gear it might be best to check online and call the store first. Part of the inventory issue may also be that it is a newer store so inventory that I am looking for may be out of stock temporarily. I have only been here twice too so I can re-review after another visit. read more

Wow just wow.. I have never been so upset in my life. My Grannie bought my husband I shirt for Christmas and it was too small. I took it back and while I was returning it I asked the cashier if they had that in a 3XL his response was so rude.. He said ma'am this is a workout store we don't carry sizes like that.. I'm a small girl and just looked at him and said did you seriously just say that? Then my comment was.. I didn't know people worked out in jerseys.. Took my money and ran.. I spent 45 minutes shopping with my kids for ski clothing under a whole section of the store with 25% off signs. The two pair of snow pants I tried to buy were on a rack specifically labeled 25% off. When I checked out with $500+ worth of merchandise I was told only the jackets were discounted. I walked back to the rack, which had only even had a few jackets on it. The sign, in very small print, said coats only. Keep in mind the entire rest of the section had huge 25% off signs in red everywhere with no small text whatsoever. This is enough to annoy anyone. The worst part, however, was how I was treated in the store. The clerk could not have cared less about the confusion this caused. She was clearly irritated I even brought it up and offered zero sympathy for the time I wasted under the wrong impression in their store. She even offered the most offensive thing you can to a shopper in this situation, "it says it right on the sign." Putting someone down for not reading the fine print makes them feel awesome about spending money in your store! A half way decent response from the staff with an apology for the misunderstanding their less than obvious signage caused me would have gone a LONG way. Instead, I felt disrespected, put down and completely irrelevant to them. So I left buying nothing and wasting a bunch of time. Thanks Dicks! read more

Customer service is very poor at this location. Having to hunt down someone to help is not a good thing-especially when they act like you're bothering them. They had no idea about the product (boots) nor about prices. The cashier was just the same- had no clue if on sale. Way too overpriced!!! Head to Kohl's next door instead-same products but less $$$ read more

Dick's is easily my all-time favorite store. They have everything from football to clothes, and golf to personal fitness. They have great staff, and a handy membership program. You can even order big items, like ping pong tables! I go here a lot. read more

The attendant completely screwed up my new $100 skates by HAVING ZERO CLUE HOW TO SHARPEN SKATES! I was better off going to my bench grinder at home than the job he did. The only reason I went to Dick's is because I had a free sharpen for purchasing the skates from Dick's. I took them to Advantage Sports in Ann Arbor to the best sharpener in SE michigan. It took him 20 minutes to fix them. He asked what happened and I explained how dicks had zero clue what they were doing so never going back here again. read more
