This is a big store, sizable and bigger than the one by our house. The store is dead. Maybe 5-6 people in the whole store, shopping. Picked up Cole Haan dress shoes since the one by my house was out. I needed a big shoe size and they had some spares. They saved it for us to pick up by tomorrow. Arrows down each row. Social distancing at checkout. Downside is there's only one person at the checkout counter. There's two groups in front of us. One more would make things go faster. In and out in 5-7 minutes, not too bad, in the end. With the first snow storm of the season, we woke up in panic mode this morning knowing that a few of us in the house still did not have snow boots!!! After trying on several pairs of snow worthy boots at DSW my tween daughter and began to become discouraged. It seems her toe box is too wide although the length is fine for the small women's size shoes she has begun to wear this past year. We almost left. Enters sales associate, MARIA who with her great knowledge and expertise asked my daughter a series of questions, did some quick thinking and suggested a few styles that might work. Not only did we find the perfect fit, but my daughter found a color that she actually liked better (not easy for the self conscious almost-teen!) They didn't have the size I wanted at the store and Jill was so amazing at helping. She ordered the right size from me, looked up my account and found two extra coupons that I can use and got me out of the store under three minutes. You never know what you're going to find at DSW. Sometimes, they don't have every size of a particular shoe style, so it's the luck of the draw. You can do it entirely self-serve, but there are people there to help you shop. I got some fancy *orange* Italian sandals there for a very reasonable price. Yeah, they're not Vogue quality, but they're really cute -- and comfortable. I also found some sandals that are basically Birkenstock soles, but with fancy beads and sequins. Very cute! I figured out that my feet are happiest on a sole that is basically as hard as a piece of wood in consistency. I'm a super-pronator, so I have to be careful what I wear. Be sure to check out the sale section at the back corner, organized by size. They have a loyalty program, but my shoe purchases are so sporadic, I have never benefited from their frequent buyer card. They have a very small section of shoelaces and shoe care items. Very small. I can't usually find the exact shoelace I'm after, and end up going to Meijer, where they have a lot more variety of colors and lengths. read more

DSW is my go to place for all my shoes needs... however it's hit or miss since you need to visit there multiple times to find the right shoes... don't go there expecting to find the pairs that you like on the first visit... As for the prices, some are cheap, but most of them are moderately priced to expensive.... so don't expect to go there to find all of their products are the lower end of the price range... So far, I have enjoyed buying my shoes, haven't had any issues or complaints on my purchases... they redid the cashier area, so looks like they are working to improve the flow, because the old system was horrible. read more

This place is really a hit or miss for me. Mostly, it's a miss but my hubs seems to manage to find shoes he loves every time we come in. I usually always start my search for shoes in the clearance section and work my way up to the front of the store and don't have the best of luck finding shoes that call out for me. The prices can be cheap for some shoes/bands, but feel most can be expensive. The store itself is pretty well put together and clean. read more

No real Black Friday sale, but they do have a good selection of styles, but not a good selection of sizes. What is a stylish shoe or boot if you can't wear it. This is probably why we don't visit often. The clearance is much of a bargain but appears to be the biggest draw for those who do visit. Back of the store is always packed. Lots of friendly smiles and hellos from the staff, but glad they aren't hounding to help you out. read more

I'm generally more of a Payless kind of gal, but DSW is my second choice. They have a huge selection, and they carry discounted designer brands which Payless doesn't. I got an adorable pair of real leather black flats with little rhinestones on them here. They're Liz Claiborne, and I picked them up for around $10. So, for that alone, I'm a fan. read more

Why such a low mark for endless shoes? Their selection is... eh. Most of the time I go in there needing something specific (boots, sandals, men's dress shoes, etc.), but leave empty-handed. They have a large selection of shoes, but for each individual shoe the sizes available can be scant. It feels like if you go in with something in mind (royal blue heels), you will be disappointed. If you go in with something very general in mind (heels of any color), you may luck out. But be warned that if you have wide calves, their boot selection will do nothing for you. The various pairs of shoes I've gotten from DSW have been shoes I've worn a lot, but that wear out too quickly. Cheaply made? I do love walking around the clearance section and seeing shoes up to 70% off (last time I was there I even saw a new sticker--80% off--on a small handful of boxes), but again, I almost always walk out empty-handed. The staff is friendly and works hard to help you. The rewards club is okay. I like that you get $5 free for your birthday! read more

Interesting how I rarely find just the right shoe in the regular line up, but always find at least TWO perfect pairs on the clearance rack!!! Today I found THREE, but managed to leave with only two and saved $128!!!!!! Where else can you get two pairs of designer shoes for $50??!! I made a big mistake of buying a moderately priced sandal in DSW. It was priced 40$. It seemed nice when I bought it but just 3 months into using, the sole is completely torn and it is now unusable. I lost my bill and so I have no way of returning this product. I never expected such cheap quality products from DSW. Neither will I return to this shop nor will I recommend this to any of my friends. read more
