I stopped in today and was very disappointed in the lack of service for a "nicer" shoe store. No other customers in the store! Saleswoman puts the box with the shoes on the floor and proceeds to walk back to front desk to talk to other salesperson. I tried them on and walked up to the mirror to look. From her outpost she says 'those look like they are the right size." Maybe if she attempted to help me she would know if they are the right size ????? I was going to buy them and said no, they don't deserve my business! As I walked out not a word was said to me. I guess Footprints is really doing well and doesn't need to help customers. I was so pleased with the service I received at Footprints. I just moved to Ann Arbor from a warm climate, and this was my first venture into shopping for boots. Amanda, the staff member who helped me, was able to get me from "I have no idea what I'm looking for" to finding two pairs of boots that I am super happy with. For every pair of shoes that I tried, she asked questions about fit, feel, space, etc., and brought out socks that varied in thickness, so I could see how they felt with the boots on. She never hesitated to grab more styles or sizes from the back. She seemed far more interested in helping me find the right boots than she did in selling me something. They also give a student discount (saved me about $40), and they do price matching if you find the same shoe online for a better price. I should mention that I went during an off time, so I can't speak to the service when there are a lot of other shoppers there. In any case, I had a great experience there. read more

I drove all the way from Ferndale to use a GC and am glad I did! Walking in, the atmosphere was pleasant and clean. The selection was great and Amanda couldn't have been more patient and helpful. With her obvious knowledge of the styles and stock she was able to quickly direct me to the perfect pair of boots to suit my needs and crazy feet!! I ultimately bought two pair! ! I highly recommend this store to anybody looking for a great selection of quality footwear at reasonable prices and GREAT SERVICE. ! read more

Friendly, helpful service, good-but-not-stellar selection, and a reasonable location. Definitely on my look-for-shoes list, even if I don't always find something. I've worked with several employees here --- all were helpful, ready to pop into the back to search for stuff, and some (but not all) seemed to know the selection off the top of their head. There's a mix of larger brands like Clarks, and some smaller-to-tiny brands I've seen 0 or 1 other place. They're nicely balanced between men's and women's shoes, which simplifies things. The stock is fine, but certainly not encyclopedic --- during my last visit, we ended up finding the style, but not size, we wanted. read more

I want to give Footprints 4 stars...they have a great selection of cool, unique, functional shoes. Unfortunately, the service has been subpar the last few times I have come in. When I walked through the door, there was a woman sitting at the register reading something, she never acknowledged that I was there. The other person working never asked if I would like some help (though in his defense he was helping someone). I was in the store for approx 20 minutes without a single word uttered to me. As I walked out- still nothing from the mysterious worker behind the counter....now how am I supposed to shop local when customer service bites. read more

While I didn't buy shoes here, I need to take the time to rave about the woman who was working 9/25/16. I was with my son right outside the store and he got a nosebleed. Even though she was closing the store, she took the time to come outside and bring a box of tissues. She then offered to go back in and get wet towels to help clean him up. The fact that she took the time out of her busy day all when not asked, meant the world to me and my son. It's nice to know that people like this still exist! read more

I originally thought that sneakers would be able to get me through my surgery rotation. However, by the end of the first week, my feet were killing me. Footprints' staff was knowledgeable and helpful, pointing me towards shoes that previous students in my position found comfortable. After a week, my new shoes were great in all but one aspect - they rubbed one corner of my foot. The manager graciously offered to make custom adjustments on it for me, for free! Even though the store was close to closing, my sales person, Amanda, was extremely helpful and efficient. She was knowledgeable about the fit of every shoe they offered, and was to the point. She selected all of the appropriate options for me and I found the perfect pair of Oxford style shoes I was looking for. She knew the right questions to ask, and was a real pro. Love this place! If you are on the hunt for a quality comfortable pair of shoes that are stylish, your search is over. This is the place to go. They have a great selection. I'm on my feet for 10 - 12 hours a day and wanted to find something cute but comfortable. I went in just to look, and walked out with 2 pairs. I'm getting rid of all my shoes, and buying 4 or 5 pairs of QUALITY comfortable shoes. Prices are great and so is the customer service. All around great experience. The selection is good and they were willing and offered to order models that they did not yet have, and colors or styles that were not in the store. The salespeople I have spoken to recently and in the past were very helpful, allowing me to try on a few pairs, offering models that fit my needs. I had already done a bit of research prior to coming in and what was offered was spot on to what I had found elsewhere and online. The other review here seems to indicate that the service was poor at the time, but that is one of those situations that depends on the employees at any given company at a particular time. That was also a year and a half ago. My mother and father have been there before and rave about it, so I gave it a shot and was plesently surprised. I have been to other places and have had good or bad service -- it depends on the employees. At least with the current employees, this is a great place to go. read more

I have a narrow foot that requires arch support. My husband also has a narrow foot. Both of us are fans of Footprints despite the 40 mile drive to shop. Their staff know their products and can match need with foot for hiking and winter shoes. They usually have a sale after the holidays which softens the blow of expensive shoes. They carry brands that are meant to be used vs. just look good. I will return! read more

Selection is pretty good and seasonally relevant. Some of the staff are pleasant and helpful. Others are very, very salty.

Went there for the first and only time. I tried to do a return on an item my husband received as a gift and was repeatedly told by the woman working there what a problem it would be for her. Initially she told me they didn't carry that item, then I presented a receipt and she corrected herself. Then she went from giving no refund to getting out a calculator to figure out what portion of the full price she might give me. At that point I told her to stop, that I would keep the item as I had already purchased the correct size at another shoe store in town. Finally, she gave me a full refund. It was an unnecessarily negative interaction and I won't go back. read more

This is a great shoe store! I have a hard time buying shoes (I need very comfortable shoes due to past foot injuries, a lot of things don't fit right, etc) and I always head here. The staff is amazing and takes the time necessary to help me find something. Really appreciate this place! read more
