Going into Dear Golden is like walking into a wearable museum. This is the nicest, classist, most tastefully curated vintage store I've been in. They also started doing more jewelry and home goods too which don't stay around long so I always see something new they have put out. I also like that the owner and Jasmine (love her) are never pushy or walking around trying to up sell me things they know don't fit quite right or don't match my hair. To the contrary, when I need any help they will whisk into the changing room to tie up that corset one more half inch if I give them a little wink. Finally, I love that they are extremely knowledgeable about the historical significance of the clothes and jewelry. They know all the top--and lesser known albeit important--designers of the various periods and they have encyclopedic breadth of why the clothes were designed and worn. With all the nice articles in there, makes me wonder what's in her storage...guess I'll just have to wait and come back soon.

My partner and I travel to different shops such as this across the US and collect unique items... there are snobby people but dear golden... they aren't them. I have worked with Ayla & Co. numerous times and have always had a great experience. They take their time with each customer to make sure they are satisfied and eager to come back. Although the designer labels are pricey they almost always have a rack (or two) with 70% off (last season's styles). I've purchased several discount pieces that I would have never been able to purchase otherwise. If you're shopping in Ann Arbor definitely visit Ayla & Co. Dim lighting, modern upscale design, and a record player playing chill tunes. I ordered the Plain Jane matcha which was $10.50. A little pricey, but I was willing to try it out. It was definitely the best matcha I've ever had, and it makes sense that it would be more expensive compared to other places' matcha which tastes watered down in comparison. I will definitely be coming back. Just for the atmosphere. And I'd also like to try their other drinks including the pour-over as l am such a big coffee fan.
