My Roadhouse Salad was enormous and topped with generous, perfectly cooked slices of tri-tip, which balanced beautifully with the tart apples, blue cheese, and apple vinaigrette. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his pulled pork sandwich as well. The restaurant itself is also so clean & well decorated. We will definitely be return customers!

Good BBQ, but a few things to know before you go…read more I found this barbecue spot on Google and also checked it out on Yelp. It had some good reviews, and since I'm a big reviewer myself, that's what ultimately convinced me to stop in and give it a try. First impression: The parking lot is very small with extremely limited parking. If there are already a couple of cars there, you'll probably have to park along the street in the surrounding residential neighborhood. The good thing is that the location is very easy to get to--it's right off Highway 152 (Pacheco) and sits right on the corner. They have a large outdoor barbecue/grill area where you can see they're cooking the food, plus a bench outside. When we arrived around 3:30-4:00 PM, there were only a couple of customers leaving, so the restaurant was pretty quiet. Inside, there's a large chalkboard menu that's easy to see and read. Since it was my first time, it took me a few minutes to figure out exactly what I wanted. I ordered the small rib plate with cornbread instead of the garlic bread because I LOVE cornbread. The cornbread was really good! The ribs were also good. I personally like my BBQ nice and saucy, so I added some extra barbecue sauce, which made them even better. The macaroni was just okay, but the baked beans were really, really good. We also tried the pulled chicken sandwich. Unfortunately, that was probably my least favorite item. The chicken was pretty plain, didn't have much flavor, and was somewhat dry. It also didn't really give me that smoky/barbecue flavor I was expecting. One thing to know is that they don't have a fountain drink machine. You'll need to grab a canned or bottled drink from the refrigerator, including Mexican Coke. The food came out very quickly. We had barely sat down after ordering when our food was already being brought out on trays. Overall, I thought the food was fairly decent, although I felt it was a little overpriced for what you get. The ribs, cornbread, and baked beans were the standouts for me, while the pulled chicken could definitely use more flavor and moisture. Would I come back? Possibly. I wouldn't say this was a bad experience at all, and there were definitely some things I enjoyed. I may make another stop in the future.

We were starving, and my husband noticed the sign as we passed by--so we turned around to check it out. And I'm so glad we did! We ordered #10 -- Any 2 Meats + 2 Sides for $32.90, which was actually more than enough for the two of us. For the meats, we chose the beef brisket and ribs, with potato salad and macaroni salad for the sides. Everything was delicious! The meats were perfectly seasoned and so tender. The ribs were truly fall-off-the-bone tender. The order also came with a piece of cornbread, and oh my goodness--it was SO good! I should've ordered an extra one for just $2. Definitely one of those things you don't appreciate enough until it's gone! I especially liked the BBQ sauce--it has a little kick of spice, which paired really well with the sides. The potato and macaroni salads were slightly sweeter than what I've had at other BBQ places, and I really enjoyed that combination. The lady at the counter was also very nice and welcoming. The restaurant was clean and comfortable, even though it's located along a busy street. A great little BBQ find that we wouldn't have discovered if we hadn't been hungry and noticed that sign! Definitely worth the U-turn! Would I come back? Absolutely! And next time, I'm getting that extra cornbread!

When you've had a busy day, that kind of service goes a long way. The food was really good. The brisket was juicy and tender, and the tri-tip was cooked just right. Dip that tri-tip in their BBQ sauce and you're good to go. The mac and cheese was creamy and hit the spot, and the baked beans were probably my favorite. They had a little sweetness to them and some bits of meat mixed in that made them even better. The Texas toast was soft and buttery, and the fried pickles were a great starter. Honestly, those barely made it home. The family was happy when I showed up with dinner, so I'd say that's a win. If you're in the Los Banos area and want some good, filling BBQ without making a big production out of it, give this place a try. I'll definitely be back.

Had I known what was in store I might have made the trip just for the BBQ alone. The brisket is some of the best brisket I have ever had in my entire life. The Ribs were way above average. The Banana pudding was outstanding. The Coleslaw was fresh and tasty and I don't even like Coleslaw! A couple of notes, they charge like 30 cents a slice or something for white bread slices, no big deal, and the sauces are fine, but not out of this world - but who needs sauce when the meat is just that good? My wife really enjoyed their tangy sauce, so of the 3 on offer start there. Stay Smokin BBQ was catering for an event at my children's school about a month or so ago. For those who have children, you know all too well how picky kids can be when it comes to food and my boys are no different. I had ordered a combo meal for my two boys and I to share. I wasn't sure if one combo meal was going to be enough for all three of us, however, when I received our food I realized the portion sizes were large. We ordered brisket, pulled pork, tri tip, baked beans and macaroni and cheese. If you're a mac and cheese lover like me, you definitely have to try their homemade macaroni and cheese. It was creamy, cheesy, and the noodles were cooked to perfection. When it came to the brisket, pulled pork, and tri tip, I have to say it is probably the best BBQ I have ever tasted. Each bite was juicy, full of flavor, and tender. They provided homemade BBQ sauce, but the meat is so flavorful that you don't have to add anything to it. I feel like I hit the jackpot with Stay Smokin' BBQ! In fact, I enjoyed it so much that I reached out to Stay Smokin' BBQ to help provide a nice Thanksgiving meal. I didn't get any names which I highly regret now, however, they took care of us on Thanksgiving. They generously provided brisket, pulled pork, macaroni and cheese, and a sweet potato pie to my children and I. They gave me the day and time to pick the order up and when I arrived, they handed me hot and fresh BBQ that just came off the smoker. I think this Thanksgiving meal spoiled my four children because they asked if we can stop making turkey and just get the BBQ. Thank you so much Stay Smokin' BBQ.
