So, we have been coming here since they reopened, and until today we have had good service and food. Today, the employees decided masks were not necessary, insisted there was no longer a mask mandate in California, and that since Dickey's is a Texas based company, they do not require their employees to wear masks, even if it is required by local and state guidelines. The rude, obnoxious responses and the complete disregard for the safety of the employees and their customers has lost them my business. I will never return, and suggest you stay away if you value your health. If they disregard these guidelines, what else are they not complying with? Do they wash their hands? Is the food kept at a safe temperature? I can't trust these basic things are being done. read more

The single meat brisket was o.k. but every thing goes south from there..the place doesn't give you texas toast or a roll instead you get two pieces of cheap white bread dry...and the Mac and cheese was stale..the BBQ beans were o.k. but they two were cold..18.63 and definitely not worth the money..try the Danny's next door at least covid didn't steal their texas toast.. read more

Well all I can say is this place is f&cked! 4:30 pm sold out of poultry, because nobody wants to buy their 90 percent fat beef and pork. I will never stop here again!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Waited 10 min. For the Mac in my brisket stack (to go) and it was stone cold... threw the whole thing in the trash Would recommend checking you to go order before you Tried to contact business after they reached out and nooooo response read more

Worst experience I have ever had. The two lady's working here had attitudes and were extremely rude. Spent 40.00 waited less then 5min to get are food and it was cold and not properly cooked all the way. The Mac and cheese was dry like it had been sitting there all day all the food looked like that. Please do not go to this establishment you will not be happy and it was a total waist of money. Also I don't no the portions but I ordered the old scoop play and I got one sausage and two small pieces of meat for 16.99 read more

Why only 3 stars??? This place ROCKS!!! So accommodating and the food is delicious! The brisket was salty but I don't eat salt so I am not used to it... When you stop here make sure to walk around the corner past Denny's and find heaven!!! Drinks too! read more

This was the BEST Dickey's BBQ that I have ever been to. The meat was tender and flavorful. They do not skimp on the meat like other Dickeys I've been to. The owners/staff were so friendly and welcoming. I loved how the inside was decorated. Its under new ownership and still being renovated but it was already so nice ! If you want great BBQ and amazing service stop at this Dickey's you will not regret it. read more

First, They don't have Fried Okra at this location. I was disappointed and normally, that would cost them a star. But the service provided along with the food, well easily covered for that. I ordered the Westerner with chicken and jalapeno cheddar sausage as well as a large sweet tea. The sweet tea container emptied out while trying to fill my Big Yellow cup. So that's when she jumped into action (sorry, I didn't get her name) Blonde hair. She quickly refilled the sweet tea container and I was able to enjoy some good Dickey's sweet tea with my sandwich. Suggestion to owner/manager....add the Fried Okra....when you can and keep the help happy! Good stuff. Parking is easy and plentiful. read more

Good food, hard to find. Head towards Joe's Travel Plaza and you'll find this BBQ joint behind the Denny's. if you want good bbq middle of no where this is the spot. it's a small dive near a truck stop & dennys. the prices were HIGH for a combo you'll spend bout $20 with tax and thats just 1 meal so the girls is taxin but the mash and meat are good. portions should be bigger for what you pay though. i want to try the sweet rub ribs next time but its a drive from the bay and valley. bathrooms on the other hand were disgusting there was pee all over the floor & seat of toilet and no t.p. cleanly maintenance needs to be changed because if their bathrooms are like that it makes me question the kitchen. i was looking forward to sweet tea, but it was pretty mid not even sweet. read more

Use to go here all the time until my experience today. Went in for take out was heavily over charged charged for items I didn't even order. Should of just asked for my money back and went next door. read more

If I could give this Dickey's a minus 10 I would. AWFUL AWFUL food. We have eaten at different Dickey's around the area and always thought the food was good. This place has soured us on ever going to another Dicky's again. Number one, they were out of most of the meats. The pulled pork was so over salted that it was hard to eat. The green beans were also very over salted and not edible. The baked potato casserole seem like it was made with instant potatoes and a couple chunks of I don't know what it was and that was it. I would be so ashamed to be putting food like that out for your customers. Maybe you cater to mostly truck drivers, but I hate to tell you truck drivers know good food and they deserve good food. Not the nasty slop you serve. read more

No, no, no! Rude, unhelpful employees. I should have known: every other restaurant was packed, but Dickey's was practically deserted with just one customer. I ordered online and when I got to the store I wasn't acknowledged at all for about ten minutes as both employees carried on a conversation with said only customer. Once they finally noticed me, I told them I'd placed an online order. His English was, well, rudimentary at best. Lots of talking back and forth in Spanish. They decided they hadn't received my order. Not only that, they did not have the items I ordered. Fine, you can refund me the cost of those items. But noooo, they can't give me a refund. The rude one told me, "you gotta call the company. That's not us." Okay, I'd like to speak to your manager or store owner. They shuffled around some papers and then told me they don't know who the owner or manager is. You don't know who you work for?!?! The other employee told me they couldn't give me a refund because they had no proof I'd paid for my order; doesn't make much sense...you'll give me $40 of food without said proof, but not a $9 refund?! Also, they carried on a conversation about me in Spanish. I told them it's considered rude to talk about someone in another language in front of them (in my previous life we weren't even allowed to speak another language at work). "I'm not talking to you" he said. Finally, one of them offered to take my phone number so he could give it to the manager, with a promise she'd (how did he all of a sudden know the manager was a she?) call me the next day and that she would give me coupons to make up for the $40?!?! They don't even have Dickey's where I live. What good are coupons going to do me? Go to Denny's or Carl's Jr....you'll be happy you did! read more

I don't know where the bad reviews came from. We stopped by on a Monday Afternoon and the Hispanic lady behind the counter was so nice and helpful. Food was delicious. We have a Dickey's in our town but it doesn't taste this good. While we were sitting and eating 2 gentlemen came in and one had never eaten at a Dickey's. She took the time and explained it to him and even was joking around with them. read more

This place might as well be on another planet. Dickey's is just off the 5 in the middle of Nowhere, CA. You roll into the "no truck entry" parking lot and order over the wooden barrier on the left side of the restaurant. On the radio is slow, old country music. You might see some truckers on their pit stop, consuming a pile of barbecued beef through the grit of their missing teeth. On my visit here, I came with a furious appetite and spotted something I immediately wanted. What can I get ya? I became possessed by my inner redneck That there Mac n steak looks good, I heard myself say with a strong drawl. Redneck or not, I was not disappointed. I ordered the baked beans and cream of spinach as well, and was completely full before making it 5 miles down the road. I can't say I'd recommend eating with a fork while driving but in case you want to risk ending up in a ditch covered in their signature spicy sauce then be my guest. (Sorry, ending got dark, safe travels) read more

Could have eaten great non-chain O & J's BBQ down the road in Santa Nella, but we were staying in Westley and there was plenty of time to make it to Dickey's well before closing. Pulled into the lot at 8:20 pm, with 40 minutes to spare before closing, only to find the doors locked. Inside, we could see the staff doing various tasks in a leisurely manner. Tried knocking to get their attention and tried calling. Ignored completely. I would have added a star or two if they would have at least acknowledged / explained / apologized either in person at the door or answered their phone. read more

I noticed this Dickey's BBQ location a few weeks ago when passing through, and made a mental note to remember that it's there as it's difficult to see from the road. It's a great option if you're in the area as there aren't a lot of choices here. Typical Dickey's BBQ fare here, although a few of the combo meals I am used to were not available at this location. You can still get them, you just have to piece them together yourself as you order. I had the Beefy Mac Smoke Stack (Slow smoked brisket with creamy mac and cheese) it was a generous portion for the price and was very tasty. I would definitely order it again. Service was friendly and quick. Additionally this location seems to have more available seating than many other Dickey's BBQ locations I've been too. Overall this is a nice addition to the area. read more

Tried calling in a Togo order and was put on hold for over 6 mins. Tried calling back and no answer. Went into order and it was pretty empty. Was told they don't have containers for the BBQ and we're trying to not give us any BBQ sauce. How do you have BBQ with out sauce? Asked if they could give me one of the side containers of sauce and they said they couldn't cause them every one would want it that way. The meat was bland and Sausage had the consistency of dog food. I've eaten at dickies many times and their food has been really great was very disappointed. This location needs some help. read more

Ordered the 1 meat plate comes with 2 sides. I had the pork ribs comes with 3 ribs and baked beans potato salad. The pork ribs are tasty so is the baked beans Potato salad is good The whole meal has flavor. Nice atmosphere friendly staff Good food. I will eat here again. read more

I usually eat at these for their great bbq, but this one is so mismanaged. The blond girl working the front had no clue and they had one guy working. So understaffed and the line was getting long. Someone didn't turn on the rotisserie so some meat wasn't done. They were also out of Caesar salad and they were out of Dr. Pepper...I walked out. Lucky my other experiences were good at other locations. Not this one! read more

They were out of brisket and ice, but it was ok I got pull pork anyway, it's so fatty with the skin on it.

Love the food. It's behind Denny's. Must stop by if passing through this area. Staff super sweet.

Save your time and money going to Dickies. We are driving up from Las Vegas Nevada heading to Mendocino into the Holiday Inn Express we saw sign that said dickeys barbecue read a couple of reviews they seem good. That wasn't the case girl behind the counter was very rude they were out of food and the girl got sarcastic and she said well after certain hour we stop cooking well that's not my problem I am a customer if you want to stop cooking close your doors at 4:30 it's 8 PM at night people are traveling up and down Highway five and they want to eat. read more

What a great place! I love the brisket here. It's my third time. The creamed spinach is also excellent. Friendly service reminds of Texas which is where this place originated, I believe. When I'm on highway 5 between LA and SF, I always plan a stop here. read more

Staff is inattentive and rude, food is ok and very expensive for the portion , even for bbq, stood in front of the counter for 12 minutes before someone came to help, and they were 5 ft away talking , 2 ladies, their business is not service industry neither one of them read more

Initially got the three meat plate with ribs, pulled pork and jalapeño sausage. The pulled pork and sausage was awful! Too raw like. But the manager was great about it and gave me the rib plate instead. The ribs were good. The sauces are great, and the lemonade was fantastic! The potato salad is the mustard kind which I love! Baked beans are not too far off from the regular canned kind but good nonetheless. I would eat there again but would only get ribs and potato salad. read more

Not worth it amound of money to amound of food. And they don't know how to cook brisket

The two reasons we pulled off the freeway to come to Dickey's was for the fried okra and sweet tea. They informed me that this location doesn't have fried okra (ok so I'm super bummed) but there's still the sweet tea! Guess again! Both the sweet tea and the regular tea were completely empty. The lady at the counter gave me attitude when I told her the tea was out. She was rude and told me she was busy. I waited while I ate for the tea and she then tells me it's almost ready so I was gonna get some on my way out after I was done with my food. Go to fill my cup and nothing but water!!!! The lady tells me "well, it takes a while" ugh! Never gonna stop here again! Don't waste your time or money. Only giving one star because at least the food was hot read more

This place was a nice surprise! We try to avoid fast food on the road which can be challenging.... the kid that helped us was super nice. He let us try the Mac n cheese... you never know with Mac cheese if it's good or not. It was good Mac n cheese. We shared the two meat plate. Chicken x2 Cesar salad mac n cheese & added a corn bread & a large drink for about $16. There's a BBQ sauce bar to choose from also! read more

Dickey's Barbecue Pit - Barbeque Near Me - Westley, California

I stop on the advise of a friend from Texas who said they had the best bbq. I wish I had passed by. Staff was not happy to be there and complained how she was making money for the owners while they were on vacation. They ask for my meet choice and was told they didn't have that and I could have brisket ( it was all fat and gristle) then side were missing I wanted. I ended up throwing it away. I let the person in charge know that was the worst cut of meet I ever had and that they should have not served it- her response was "I will let the owner know about your feedback" which I am sure they won't. I would recommend never to go to a to Dickeys and corporate should come out and hold up the standard or close them down. read more

I always stop here on my way from Los Angeles to the Bay Area. Food is always good and the servers are polite. The beef brisket is great. Tender and tasty. Cole Slaw is also a winner. Love their sauces too. Prices are what you expect from Dickey's everywhere. I would give them five stars, except that their housekeeping needs improvement. Especially at the tables and the self service bar, which we know is tough to keep neat and clean. Maybe it's the overall darkness of the restaurant that makes it seem grimier than it really is. Anyway, it's at Joes truck stop near Patterson. Around the left side of the building. read more

The food is sooo good but the ladies that work there are horrible employees , just left there and there were two ladies outside cussing and yelling and complaining while smoking right in front by the entrance door , and the last time I went there they were doing it inside the while there was plenty of customers and the two woman were complaining about a young new employee and talking all kinds of crap about her . They just seem really angry and make it unpleasant inside . read more
