I moved to the area recently and the closest Dickey's was 20 minutes away in Placerville. I ordered through the app and I looked online and it said that they closed at 9 PM. I ordered at 7:30 with a pick up for 8 o'clock when I arrived at 8:03 I noticed that the sign said closed and someone was running out my food, which was in a problem because I had curbside pick up What concerned me was that it was closed. I would've never ordered before closing. That's just not what I do I think it's rude. I paid almost $35 for two meats 4 small sides and I had ordered Texas toast, but I ended up getting cold rolls. The food was not good at all. I'm really disappointed because I feel I got the end of the night cold reheated and dry food makes me sad that I wasted my time and money to go all the way out there for this I ended up throwing it away. We ordered the salad with chopped brisket and the picnic pack w/ chopped brisket and it was ALL inedible fat for over $60.It wasn't chopped because the fat was too thick to chop threw. I called to complain and they said they could give us their managers number. Ordered take out tonight and it was roughhhhh. First, everything was room temperature maybe even somewhat cool. We ordered two two meat plates and the brisket on both plates was nothing but fat, and again...cold. I searched everywhere for the two pork ribs I ordered but apparently they never made it in the bag, probably a blessing in disguise honestly. The mashed potatoes were so old and dry they had crusted over on the top and had crusty bits mixed through, like they just continued to mix old mashed potatoes from the top in to the rest of it. I ordered my son macaroni and cheese to go with his meat and it was so dry and rubbery it had started to burn in parts. I ordered onions for the meat and they were slimy and old and had a sour/pungent smell. This restaurant has continued to go downhill over the past 5-6 months...Now to the point of being really plain nasty. I tried to go back this evening one more time, one more try to let them "get it right," but nope...never again. It was absolutely disgusting. read more

Had not been there for while. See their menu has been renovated and the ice cream machine/soda machine did not return after the pandemic . While the meat was good (sad to see turkey removed) the sides were poor. With the removal of a salad there are no "healthy" sides. Coleslaw nope. Green Beans are so spicy we could not eat them. I've been here a few times and had a great experience but the man that prepared my food today was not the owner I don't think, and he treated me very rudely and barked orders at me as I was trying to order my food. Food was delicious, staff were all friendly. My only criticism is that one of the male employees had a cough, and at one point in the food prep he coughed right in the direction of the chicken he was cutting up, didn't bother to cover his mouth at all. I am not a mask nazi by any means, and in fact I was not wearing a mask in the restaurant, but I would surely think that someone with a cold or flu would be wearing a mask. Right on schedule, 2 days later I came down with a cold with accompanying cough. The website indicates that staff wear masks, but on this day none were. Wow what a place this was. The guy who took our payment probably had about 1 Brain cell hanging on by a thread. Idk what was going on back there but our food comes out and it looks just awful. We sit down and it was super cold and didn't seem like any of it was actually cooked or fresh. Good prices if you choose a daily special. I liked the brisket, it was a bit dry and the slider bread was definitely 3 star, as was the mediocre jalapeno bean side. But I am giving them 4 star for the overall cleanliness and the concept for a fast casual place that shows some in-house pride, like doing the meats all in-house which is far better than any fast food burger place. Hog Wild has nothing to worry about, but for a chance to get AWAY from an In-n-Out or Carl's Jr, this is far better and only a bit pricier than that. Well worth it. Cool, shaded patio to augment the nice seating indoors. It's not a crime to eat at at a fast food chain, once in a while, at least not this one. Stopped here in the way home from Apple Hill and it was the best Dickey's I have ever been to hands down. The restaurant was clean and the decor was perfect for this BBQ place. The staff was friendly and inviting and the food was on point as well. We order 2 jumbo loaded baked potatoes with brisket...top notch. Tried their original, sweet and spicy BBQ sauces, all three had great flavor. Also ordered a brisket sandwich and a three piece order of their ribs with Mac and Cheese. Went here on a Sunday with the family. The food was really good. However the staff looked like they were miserable. The primary reason for only two stars is that 3 out of 4 of us who are the pulled pork were sick afterwards. After eating half of my meal I was really nauseous. Thankfully a little activated charcoal helped a heap. This isn't the first time we've felt yucky after eating there. We won't be back. read more

Get there to pick it up and the lady is complaining that I ordered such a big order online because she felt rushed to get the order ready and she had to use all of her dinner supplies. My fiance and I ordered sandwiches here last night and they were so good, I had to come back today. When I walked in, I was greeted with a warm welcome. I ordered 2 brisket sandwiches, 2 sides, a drink and a brownie. You would be hard pressed to find a BBQ place with a better price, it just doesn't exist and the quality of the food is KILLER! I wanted to give a great shout out to this Dickeys and their customer service. We were headed back from Echo Lake and I was looking for a place to have dinner. In the midst of this pandemic, all of the local restaurants were closing early or did not answer their phone at all. The exception was Dickeys. We already knew we would be 5-10 mins past their closing time. I was willing to order and pre-pay for the food so we could at least eat a non-fast food meal. The gentleman who answered the phone was so kind and was willing to allow us to pick up our food after their closing hours. Who does that these days? Come to find out this location is owned by a family who is more than accommodating. We were so grateful for their flexibility and the food was great! The turkey was moist and smoky just yummy. My salad and veggies were also very good. My partner had the brisket and pulled pork, also both excellent! We never felt like we got the "end of day food". I can't believe that today was my first time visiting this local business. The food was fantastic, the staff was super nice and helpful, and my food was ready to go quickly. Brisket plate with jalapeno beans and mac and cheese with Texas toast. Oh, and a slice of a pecan pie dessert thing that was amazing. Totally made my day during an already stressful week.
