Had lunch here a couple of weeks ago. Best BBQ in Milford as far as I'm concerned. I'll be back.

I wish I ordered 5 instead of 1. I can eat those all day long. Never have I ever had cornbread that bomb in my life. Come get you some! The lovely lady upfront with the red curly hair was nice and helpful. The other cashier which was a young boy also seemed pretty nice! If you're craving BBQ, ya'll gotta come try this spot out. It's right off the freeway. Nice building with a good amount of seating.

I've eaten my way through every smokehouse in Cincinnati, so when I say Midwest Best BBQ is the real deal, believe me. My arteries are practically Yelp-certified. The team of servers and cooks seems like they recruited an entire football team of young men from the University of Cincinnati; service so fast you'd think they were running a two-minute drill, attentive enough to make your mom jealous, and coordinated like they're protecting the quarterback only this time, the quarterback is your pulled-pork sandwich. Their wings, rubs, and sauces? Every single flavor profile was so good I nearly proposed to the coleslaw. And don't get me started on the G-Funk wings. They're delightful, though naming wings after a rap genre means you half expect Dr. Dre to hand you wet wipes. And let's talk about the smoking schedule. They've got a night smoker and a day smoker, which sounds less like a BBQ setup and more like a buddy-cop movie: "Day Smoker plays by the rules, Night Smoker breaks 'em, but together they deliver justice... in the form of brisket." Mark, one of the owners, literally smokes meat during a half-day shift with the love and passion of a Michelin-star chef who moonlights as Cupid. This guy makes ribs like he's serenading them. If Hallmark made a "Brisket Romance" channel, Mark would star in every single movie. I bought several pounds of meat to take home. Not "a pound." Several. Because nothing says "self-control" like hiding a bag of smoked chicken behind your kale in the fridge. Exclamation point. Period. Now, location... ...here's the kicker. They're hidden off the road over a hundred yards. That's right, it's the Area 51 of BBQ. You basically need Google Maps, a Sherpa, and divine intervention to find them. Yet, somehow, when you do, it feels like stumbling upon the Ark of the Covenant... ...only tastier, and fewer Nazis melting. Inside? Casual. TVs locked on Bengals or Reds games, so you can watch disappointment while you eat happiness. Patio? Shaded. Perfect for when you want to sweat from the hot sauce, not the sun. The sides? Top echelon. Beans, slaw, cornbread, each one a little sidekick to the main meat superhero. And for the low-carb crowd, this place is a protein paradise. Keto bros rejoice: you can bench-press your brisket guilt-free. Bottom line: Midwest Best BBQ doesn't just feed you, it baptizes you in smoke, sauce, and joy. And if you're not leaving with meat sweats, did you even go?

I decided to stop over in Milford for the first time and take my parents to see it. I love the area…read moreand the historic charm that it brings. We, of course, had to grab a brew and bite at Little Miami Brewing. As Wisconsinites, we take the opportunity to try a new brewery as second nature. We stopped in on one of the nicest days of the year so far, and going here just made sense. The doors and windows were open, the sun was shining, and people were everywhere. We ordered a few different beers to try. I love that they only sell their own brews on tap! We also got a pizza to share. We sat outside on their beautiful back patio, and it was perfect. The clear view of the river was gorgeous, and the day could not get better until I had the pizza. It was cheesy, warm, the crust was so tasty, and it was amazing. I have no idea how I have not been here sooner. Trust me when I say this place is a must!

Don't tip until the end. I've discovered that when I hand…read moreover a pre-game $10 cash tip before sitting down, magically the dirty tables get cleaned, the forks stop looking like they lost a bar fight, and the "30-45 minute estimated wait" doesn't turn into a semester abroad. Weird how that works. Especially in a mostly self-service setup where the "team experience" is supposedly what we're tipping for in the first place. Now, the place itself? Always a vibe. The ambiance is a consistent 10. Hanging flowers everywhere, riverfront energy, live music, sunshine, cold beer, people laughing like they don't have mortgages... it's basically Pinterest with an IPA tap list. The taco salad? Meh. The $14 "large" version looked like inflation personally assembled it. Nothing offensive, just forgettable. Cincinnati has better versions of that exact thing hiding in random strip malls next to vape stores and tax prep offices. Oddly enough, some of their other salads are actually much better. And salads at other Milford establishments rock...but it's not about the food. The Hawaiian pizza also came out looking like it attended the meeting but didn't contribute. Crust was underdone, chewy, and about as flavorful as a city council subcommittee. To be fair, I've had better pizzas here before, so maybe order it well done and pray over it briefly. But honestly? Nobody comes here because Anthony Bourdain's ghost whispered about the taco salad. You come for the atmosphere. The people. The flowers. The live music. The river. The one perfect cold beer from the homemade beer list that hits after a long day and briefly convinces you your life is organized. And in fairness... sometimes that's enough. and my wife loves this location.

The restaurant is in a house, but it's set up nicely. It wasn't too crowded when we arrived, but it got quite full while we were there. And a bit noisy, but not so noisy that we couldn't talk. I ordered the coq au fin, which was tasty. My girlfriend got the mushroom pasta, which she really enjoyed. It's BYOB, but no corking free, so we reach enjoyed a beverage we brought with. For dessert the housemade Bourbon Pecan Ice Cream and Creme Brulee were both delectable. They do stack reservations (the restaurant's small), and the group who had reserved our table after us arrived before we were done. But the restaurant staff were nice about it and we were able to finish our desserts before departing.

I was with a friend that I hadn't seen in a while, and chose to sit outside. This is a perfect place to have a long lunch as they don't care if you stay and visit (we were there for over 2 hours). Our service was good and very friendly. We ordered the fish sandwich with mixed vegetables, and the chicken Caesar sandwich with fries. They were able to blacken my chicken instead of fried chicken, which I appreciated. I also wanted to have my side be onion rings, but they said they couldn't make a side of those, so I ordered the appetizer of onion rings. Holy smokes the serving was HUGE! They were also some of the best onion rings I have had. The sandwiches were cooked perfectly, and the side of broccoli, cauliflower, and asparagus was fantastic. We also ordered iced tea, and it comes in a very large Mason jar and was brewed fresh. Yum. I have read some reviews about dinner that were not as favorable, but for a leisurely lunch, this place cannot be beat and was worth our drive.
