I called for a carry out and ordered the 3 meat, 3 sides for 5 people. However it is just for 2 people so we have gotten 3 meals a pc so actually a good deal. Business was steady, and we loved the patriotic ambiance. Challenge coins, pictures of regular hometown heroes on the walls, very rustic, and we found a seat in the front of the restaurant. The fella taking orders was nervous, but cheerful - his supervisor was over his shoulder, so it was obviously his first or second service. I mention this not because of him, but because of his supervisor. She allowed him to make his mistakes and correct them on his own - a true coach. I was very impressed with her style. It would have been easy to step in and correct him to keep the line moving, but she let him learn. High praise to both of them. The meats were amazing, and the Italian salad dressing was likely homemade because it had a wow factor. The greens were close to perfect, plenty of seasoning, and just enough vinegar to take the bitter out, but not enough to make it sour. The other sides were okay, not bad, not meh, just okay. I got the chopped brisked sandwich combo w/ 2 sides and a drink. I added on a extra size . This was a tad pricey for one person but oh so delicious . Great experience! We love the food at Mission BBQ and always get a sampler. We love trying the different sauces they have available on the table. Every bite is a new experience! This is a restaurant chain that honors service members. The music is not too loud to have a conversation and there is plenty of fun decor to admire. Absolutely delicious! Wonderful selection of sauces for very tender seasoned selections of meats. The pulled pork and the brisket were both lovely and a great way for our young soccer players to get some protein before the next game. We preferred the Memphis Belle Sauce with a sweet savory to it. The staff were all polite smiling and extremely nice to each other and patrons. It was really cool walking around and taking in all of the memorabilia that local vets had donated to the veteran own business. We were nervous about coming in an hour before closing but they never once made us feel rushed. Dinner with a bud. Tuesday evening. Let's start off with the good. Love the theme of this restaurant. Lawn Forssman, fire, and military. No better theme in my opinion. This restaurant is very well-maintained, very clean to include the restrooms. The employees are top-notch, very friendly, very engaging, and certainly do a good job. They even have someone working in the dining room keeping it tidy. Now this move onto the food. I was absolutely starving when I arrived at about 530. I guess that's my mistake. I ordered the three meat combo, with two sides. My first side was lean brisket. I got three pieces of brisket, each the size of an Oreo cookie. The brisket was lean, but I did not expect it to be so dry I could choke. He did have decent flavor. My second meat was ribs. I received three ribs about the size of my fingers. A very small portion but they were pretty good. My third meat was pulled chicken. It was pulled chicken in a very mild, sort of sweet, very thin barbecue sauce. The portion was probably close to 2 cups, but the chicken texture was very soft and the pieces were too small. It was not very good. The sides I chose were green beans and a broccoli casserole. Green beans were standard fare, except for the rather large stem in the middle of my serving. The other side, the broccoli casserole, which is served cold, was actually pretty good. My total bill with a regular drink, was $26.73. Certainly not a bargain, but I would have expected not only more food, but a better quality. I have eaten at Mission BBQ at several other locations in other states. So would I choose Mission BBQ again? Yes if it was convenient, no if I had to drive past other barbecue places to get here like I did today. read more

I've been here a few times now. I really appreciate the military and first responder theme in the restaurant. It's classy and well done. The booths and tables are all well distributed and inviting. The service has been great every time. You order at the counter and then pick up your food, so no waiter/waitress. I've tried the ribs, pulled pork, pulled chicken and turkey. Oh how elated I was when this one opened in Mason! Everything is good here. My favorite black plate special is the brisket burger. OMG IF IT IS ON SPECIAL, GET IT! Wish it were a regular menu item - Ive seen it sell out before! Usually get the pulled chicken or the pulled Turkey, which had a nice, smoky flavor. Cold slaw and potato salad are my preferred sides, my friends swear by the corn pudding when it's available. You can get the meat as a sandwich or just by it's self. If you get just the meat it comes with a side of cornbread & you will get 8oz of meat, if you want it as a sandwich you get 6 oz of meat. If you do a pick 2 it's 4 oz of each meat and $5.50 up charge if one of your meats is salmon. You can order the brisket wet or dry. They have 8 different BBQ sauces on the table plus NC Vinegar to put on your food. They also have an Alabama sauce they serve with the salmon. My husband had wet brisket, cornbread, and mac-n-cheese; I had pulled chicken, cornbread, fries, and baked beans; our son had, salmon, cornbread, and fries. The food and service are excellent when dining in the store but it is exceptional when ordered for catering. This is the third or fourth time I've ordered for a family gathering and it has been perfect every time. Boxed up hot, fresh and they even carried it to my car. 2/3 times I had to call shortly before picking up and they accommodated my changes. They even call afterward to make sure everything was as ordered. The staff is beyond polite, efficient and helpful. The food is affordable for the quality and quantity too. A place that honors those who protect us and delivers fixin's one can only hope for. Mission BBQ is on point. The Pulled Pork Sandwich is not to be played with. It is a hearty, slow smoked, hunger destroying, mouth watering, explosion of deliciousness. I deployed this asset with two of it's side-kicks...Baked Beans with Brisket and Green Beans with Bacon. These three brought down the house! The Brisket went to my partner. She paired that with the Mac-N-Cheese. Those two were like Tango and Bravo, Starsky and Hutch, Maverick and Goose. You get the idea. They worked well together. When we ordered I happened to mention that I was tempted by the Peach Cobbler. Unbeknownst to me, one of the workers must've overhead me. Much to my delight, and out of the sheer goodness of their hearts, a Peach Cobbler was delivered to my table after I finished my sandwich! And the Cobbler did not disappoint!!!
