Inflated mystery pricing. Ordered a single potato, $13, $5 more than menu board. Other side items not listed on menu board, pricing not listed on paper menu at register, but no idea what each side size costs. Inexperienced cashier. The other employee was negative. He said stuff is expensive in this county so the mystery pricing should be expected and accepted. I strongly disagree. read more

Went there for the first time. The interior of the restaurant is very nice and they have only been open for like 6 months. My hopes were high. Wellll... mediocre at best and expensive for what you get. We ordered two pulled pork sandwiches and a sliced brisket meal. Pork sandwiches were good and the spicy sauce was good. Brisket was tasty but loaded with fat and hard to chew. Portions of beans and Mac and cheese were so small for the price. Now we get to the fries. I'm not a picky eater but they were gross. Greasy and limp. Weren't cooked enough and I saw they weren't fresh. They spooned them into a bag that absorbed a lot of the grease. I couldn't finish the two orders we got. With so many barbecue places around this place should be avoided. High price and mediocre food. read more

The food wasn't bad! I wasn't sure what to expect based on the reviews but my ribs were good. They were out of potatos/ casserole unfortunately and the side dishes definitely looked like they were sitting out for a while and most nearly gone by 8 pm. The high prices for such small quantity is the reason for my rating. 5 small ribs and two tiny sides with Texas toast for $21+. This meal was split by two and we were still hungry after. More than two bbq sauces cost extra which is stingy compared to other places. One thing I was impressed with was their offer of free meals for low income. I thought that was a very nice initiative of Dickey's. read more

Note: written from the perspective of a takeout order, but not first time customer. While I would like to offer a better review for this restaurant, I cannot do so in good conscience. On the contrary I consider it generous to even offer two out of five stars. To begin, the food, when executed correctly, would be within the margins of above average to upper good (C+ to B; rarely B+). However, getting things not only correctly done but even the way you ordered it seems to be an increasing rarity. Even more seldom is getting your food in a timely manner, let alone within a reasonable timeframe; and much less with some level of clarity. Cue my last visit the other day: I spent an hour waiting for an online order I had placed in advance, only to be advised a max estimated time for completed preparation that was exceeded by 40 minutes. Having left in a hurry, I noticed upon arriving home that my medium spicy hot chicken sandwiches had no cheese; no seasoning; no sauce. Likewise, I was missing two sides of hot tater tots entirely. Further, my fried hot chicken tenders also suffered from a lack of seasoning and sauce. I waited for a little over an hour in total (as I got there early to coincide with the minimum estimated wait time) only to receive dry, slightly overcooked chicken that lacked any flavor; all while having been missing many components. What a lovely way to spend the day, you say? Well, it gets better. I call into express my dissatisfaction and I am told that my order was notated so that I could receive a redo whenever I come back. I proceeded to go back and not only was I not notated nor prepared for (I gave a time of arrival over the phone), but I had to wait another hour for my second order. While I do appreciate that the staff redid my entire order, there was initial awkwardness when I was asked if I just wanted certain items or everything redone. I am glad I asked for everything to be redone as even though I had indeed received chicken prior, you can see from the pictures themselves the difference between the seasoned and sauced versus untouched chicken. Likewise the execution on frying was vastly superior the second time around. I did not wish to seem like a freeloader but at the same time I had not only lost an hour prior but I had lost a little over an hour again. Likewise my sandwich, even though it had cheese and seasoning & sauce this time around, had another issue: no coleslaw. Accordingly, even though the food the second time around was 3.25 to 3.5 stars' tasty, I don't even know how to grade it or the restaurant in light of the totality of the circumstances. Portions are okay I suppose. The prices can switch between okay and outrageous, depending on what you order. In terms of the restaurant itself, there is a horrible but almost hilarious lack of proper management when it comes to operational strategy. There are usually only two workers on staff, with one tending the cooking area which only permits for one person and a very limited amount of meats to be prepared. Mind you this is a barbecue and fried chicken establishment. And then about 1/3 of the restaurant is prepared to be a bar at night time. This is a keen example of trying to do too much with way way too little. It is better to excel at one or two things and the streamline those processes then to try and do many things and fail at some things, and barely pass at others. Additionally this is not the first time I have had issues with delivery / pickup orders. There have been more than a few times that I was told they were entirely out of a kind of meat I had sought to order. I have to think hard if I will return; and if I do, I will be second-guessing myself the entire time. I hope for improvement in the management and operations of this establishment. I am confident quality & consistency would improve if the processes I mentioned above were streamlined; thanks to better management. read more

No one in the restaurant, no ice in machine, not clean. As for food it was sad... I got a piece of bread on the side that was hard as a rock, literally could have broken a window with it Seriously if you want good bbq for the same price just go to mission bbq I was so upset I wasted my money for this gross food. read more

Just came from Dickey's in Herndon VA. Ordered 1/2 pound of brisket to go and only got 3 little pieces costing $15! We weighed it and it was only 6oz including the packaging instead of 8oz of meat. They include the packaging when they weigh the food. Total rip off!!! See pic read more

I wanted to love the place, but I went in a few days ago to carry out lunch. I ordered the 3 rib lunch special with baked beans that came bc with a drink. Husband grabbed brisket sandwich with potato salad... the ribs were dry but not over cooked but brisket was pretty tender but fatty. The beans were okay but the potato salad was hot?? We enjoyed bbq sauces and the employees were extremely sweet and working hard. The inside and tables are very clean including the restrooms. Prices are kind of high, honestly. read more

More a 3.5 star review but meh. Very small portion size, more of a snack then dinner. The pulled pork was most and flavorful, only want some sauce which I didn't discover until later. The fries would be phenomenal warmed up'd, pretty salty if that's your preference. Not a bad meal by any means, but I'll be getting the BOGO next time. read more

Good bbq. I don't know what they put on their fried okra, but I could eat them all just driving home from pickup.

Rarely do this but the food was inedible, had to throw it out. Bare bones operation definitely what happens when you corporatize too much. Avoid. read more

I will start by saying Jackson was super helpful and very friendly. However, the food wasn't such a positive memory. My boyfriend ordered a brisket plate with fries and baked beans and I ordered a pulled pork plate with potato casserole and Mac and cheese. The restaurant closes at 9, however all tables had their chairs upside down on them, so we sat at the bar, since it was the only option. However, we had to get wet wipes to wipe it down because it was so sticky. We got our food fairly quickly but just by looking at my plate, I knew it wasn't going to be good. The pork smelled and looked old, my baked potato casserole was clumpy and I pulled a huge cluster of OLD casserole out of the middle of the bowl. My boyfriend's brisket was good, however the fries were hard. They were WAY undercooked, so we asked for another side of fries. We got them, but they were harder than the first batch. At that point, we gave up. It's sad that the best part of a $45 meal was the "Texas toast" that was just a thin piece of toast. read more

Kelvin was fantastic! Food was hot and delicious, fast service, restaurant was neat and clean.

You can't smell the smoker until you get inside. What comes out of the smoker is authentic Texas taste. Sauces are big variety and flavor. Sides are great - plus you get Texas toast for getting the last bits. AND a surprise - a full service bar with a happy hour. I'll try that next - Bar and BBQ. read more

Ordered the rib platter for $25. The ribs were basically beef jerky. Only 3 of the ribs had any meat on the bone. The rest were dried out and inedible. Total waste of money in a Friday at 6pm when they should be on the top of their game. Won't be back. read more

We've been to this location three times now. I don't write Yelp reviews, but this one deserves it. The price of the one-meat plate is astronomical compared to the old Fairfax location - and if you browse around the other locations in the area, it's at least $4 more than each of those. This was our go-to order, and it's not worth $19.49. The quality of meat served here is also substantially lower than in Fairfax. We were told that the "Two 2-Meat Plate" deal available in the online ordering system is online-only and that they can't ring it up in store. I sat at the bar and submitted an online order. Don't do that, it's annoying. On the third and most recent visit, there were five errors with our three-item order: missing a side, missing all sauces, the brisket sandwich had sliced meat instead of chopped, the sandwich was completely missing cheese, and one meal got Texas toast instead of a dinner roll. Three strikes - you're out. We won't be back until things improve. It's simply not worth the price. read more

Unfortunately I have to give 2 stars per the missing sides I ordered. Great place! Food was amazing! They've got 2 tvs and a bar. Only 4 tables but there's seating at the bar. Ambiance is relaxed and quiet.

It's not the best. I tried the brisket and pulled pork, both were very dry, opposite of what you would expect. The mac and cheese tasted like Kraft mac and cheese, had that artificial cheese powder taste. The service was also pretty slow. This place won't survive such a competitive area, im afraid. I highly recommend other bbq places nearby, like Pitstop or Black Hog. read more

We had dinner here and the food was quite good. The brisket was the definite highlight but our group also had the chicken, pulled pork, and the Mac and cheese sausage. All tasty. Fried okra might not have been the kids favorite but the adults all enjoyed it. They apparently had two people just not show up today so it wasn't speedy service, but the guys never stopped moving and were doing their best to get everyone taken care of. They were very nice to chat with and kept thanking us for our patience. Honestly I have no complaints. I think when they are fully staffed they will knock it out of the park. They are still pretty new and there are always some growing pains, so have a little patience and give them a try! read more

Where to start... first, they don't smoke their meat. None of it had a smoke ring. I got a 3 meat platter and all the meats were room temperature. The chicken and pork were dry. It's obvious whoever trims their briskets has no idea what they're doing. There was more fat than meat. Sides were at least good. read more

I've been a huge Dickey's fan all my life and I was excited to see one open nearby. Sadly, I have been disappointed by their poor management, serving size, and cost. Mission BBQ, down the street, is a much better choice. I have gone a few times and they were often missing items (fried okra) and the brisket has been small and dry. Also, they give you only one small sauce container and charge if you want more or to try another flavor. Most Dickey's have the sauces in tall pans that you ladle onto your meat as you like. The last time I went, about 10 minutes before closing (they close at 7pm), the doors were locked early and they would not let me in. The eat-in area is very small, but was clean. I've spoken to the manager or owner and he was not very nice. I did meet one person who I very much liked and that was Kelvin. There are better choices that are tastier, open later, friendly and with better prices. read more
