I used DH cake studio to create a custom cake for a 40th birthday party. Their communication was wonderful and they were able to bring my vision to life in the most spectacular way. When the cake came out, guests whipped out their cameras as if a celebrity had arrived. To top it off, the cake was delicious! Will definitely use them again!
Gender Reveal Cake Everyone had the impression that gender reveal cakes are usually super sweet... so we honestly didn't have the highest expectations for the taste But DH Cake Studio completely surprised us! The cake was so delicious, perfectly balanced, and not overly sweet at all. It looked beautiful, tasted even better, and made our gender reveal extra special. Absolutely perfect for our big reveal! Our first experience with Daphne was back in 2022. I had just graduated from nursing school, and wanted a themed cake for my party. We yelped and researched and came across DH cake studio, it was a plus that she is also a food network cake off champ! We ordered a smaller cake, white cake, with mango mousse. Ever since then we've been hooked. Second time was in 2024 for our sons first birthday. A boombox themed cake, black cake with cookies and creme. Most recently for our son's 2nd birthday, Jollibee themed, back to white cake with mango mousse per our son's request. I cannot stress how easy communication and the design process is. What I love is that Daphne is very communicative, if not through email, through texts. Her cakes are ALWAYS a hit in any age group. Their execution is flawless, and the cakes always taste amazing. To our Asian tongue "not too sweet!" She's a cake off CHAMPION for a reason.
When I first saw my son's cake, it literally took my breath away. It was perfect! It was a work of art! Not only was it beautiful but it was so delicious! The bread was moist the filling was perfect, not overly sweet and you could taste the flavor of the mixed berries. Communication with the DH Cake team was fantastic. They delivered the cake at the exact time that we agreed upon. It was beautifully packaged and took care in loading it onto my car such exceptional service. I am beyond grateful for for the service I received I will be a repeat customer!
Best custom bakery in town if not the entire Bay Area! I live in Oakland and get my custom cakes here - that's how good it is. Gorgeous cakes and delicious too - we're talking gourmet quality. I ordered the white cake with strawberry filling for my son's first birthday party and ordered the same design as my first son's birthday cake because that's how much I loved it (animal safari). It's a stunning addition to your party - pictures don't do justice to the level of detail Daphne applies to her works of art / cakes. Guests are still talking about the design and the taste - light, delicious, and just the right amount of sweet. This isn't your typical sugar saturated cake that makes you nauseous afterwards. You will not regret your decision, this cake is worth every penny. Just contact her well in advance because she books up fast!!!
I was extremely disappointed with this cake. It was dry, tasted old, and the jam wasn't fresh at all. The decoration was sloppy--you could see folds and holes in the design, and it looked nothing like what I had asked for. What made it worse was being told last-minute (on the same day!) that there would be "slight changes," but the final result looked awful. I expected something beautiful for my 35th birthday cake, based on the promises made, but unfortunately, you did not deliver. I would never order a cake from your shop again, and highly recommend others to stay away. If you want something nice, move on to the next cake maker. After speaking to Daphne she did give me half my money back but I had no dessert for my special day and guests!
Daphne and team did such an amazing job on the custom cake I ordered for my friend's "dumpling themed" baby shower. I was desperately trying to find a bakery who could take a custom order on short notice when my other shop fell through, and Daphne responded so quickly! They were able to turn around the order with only 5 days of notice and totally saved me. The cake got SO many compliments on the day of and was legitimately delicious. Not too sweet, moist (but not wet), with a generous serving of cream and fruit inside. I had leftovers a few days later - still delicious! The team even provided instructions on how to properly cut and serve. Thanks DH!!! Would highly recommend.
My 5 year old daughter picked an inspiration photo of a cake she wanted that was honestly disappointing to me but I didn't want to say no to her so I told her I will send the photo to the cake maker and she will put her creative twist on it. I asked DH Cake to make an elevated version of the cake picture we sent her and she fully delivered. I was blown away when I went to pick it up and my daughter and husband could not stop gushing over the cake when I brought it home. Of course all the guests could not speak enough praise about the beauty and the taste of the delicious cake. DH Cake did an impressive job packaging the cake as well. I had to transport the cake first to my house, then to the party venue and it traveled really well. We will definitely order more cakes for future events. Thank you very much!
I gave Daphne a picture of a pickle cake I liked for a pickled themed birthday for my son and asked for something similar. Daphne said "no problem, we'll make it even better," and did she ever! Cake looked AMAZING! We loved it. My favorite part was the detail that went into the "ends" of the pickle. Such great quality! The taste...perfection as well! Not too sweet, great cookies and cream mousse. We were so happy with the result! It was eaten completely! Fondant wasn't too thick. Layered beautifully (not enough time to take pics of that. Oops) SHE EVEN DID "PICKLE JUICE" spillage with sugar. Amazing. Can't recommend Daphne enough. This was our first custom cake ever and we will definitely be reaching out to Daphne in the future.
The cake was delicious! As us Asians would say, "Not too sweet." Meaning the perfect amount of sweetness for our taste :D Daphne is incredibly responsive and easy to work with. This was my second birthday cake from her and it's been a pleasure each time. She is professional and kind. Will be back for more!

I worked with Daphne to get my 100 days celebration cake for my daughter. She was easy to communicate, fast, and very responsive. I looked through her designs and the safari stood out the most. We requested safari design to match our invitation. When I saw the cake, oh my! It was beautiful. A lot of my guests were impressed with the cake design. I also ordered custom cookies... designed were beautiful. I didn't get a chance to taste the cookie since our guest ran to get them. The cake was soft and moist. Not too sweet, perfect for our tasting. If I order next time, I will definitely try a different flavor to try it out. Thanks for making my daughter's desert table stand out. read more

For nearly two decades, I've asked my partner for the most ridiculous thing I can think of for my birthday. This year it was a dinosaur princess birthday cake. A girl only turns 45 once! I pictured a Costco sheet cake with some dinosaurs stuck in the frosting but instead, I got a spectacular piece of art. The cake was incredible and so detailed- there was even wood grain on the doors and pink crowns on the dinosaurs. It was obvious so much time and skill had been required to make my cake. Found this cake studio on Yelp during the holiday season. I was very happy they responded to my request during the Christmas season. Emails back and forth until a final size and decorations were decided upon. Email responses were fast and detailed. COVID safe protocols for pick up. A table is outside which they bring the cake out and leave it for you. When she walked out with the cake my jaw dropped. I was simply amazed at how all the Strongman implements turned out. She said she learned a lot as she hadn't done anything like this before. She will probably now be inundated with the Strongman community for cakes because it was shared on social media by Cerberus who is a very large international Strongman equipment provided. It was also shared in Strongman groups. Completely forgot to take a picture of the slices. The layers were perfect! The look of the cake gets 5 stars but...the fondant on the outside and flavor would get a 3-4 stars. Guests said the cake was super moist but lacked some flavor. The fondant on the outside of the cake was to thick and wasn't really edible. Those are the only 2 issues guests mentioned but those were quickly forgotten because of the design. The price was reasonable in my opinion and worth the price on looks alone. I will definitely come back for more custom cakes! read more

If you're looking for the perfect person to trust take this post as a sign!! Daphne was so lovely to work with, and help customize special dragon cake pops for a client I was helping throw a party together for! And I should add this was a last minute request with the party only one week away!!! (Most bakeries require 2+ weeks in advance for custom cake) I thought I was going to tell my client her request couldn't be done, but Daphne saved the day seamlessly! I ordered my son's high school graduation cake and it was a total hit! Daphne was so kind and e-mails were prompt and attention to detail upon ordering were thorough. Pick up was easy and the presentation of the cake was pretty - a clear box to visualize the entire cake. The cake was gorgeous, even better than I had imagined. I got white cake with mango filling and my guests were raving about how delicious it was. They even wanted some to-go. It was moist, spongy, and not overly sweet. It was soooo good (I have 4 kids and I've had plentyyyy of birthday cakes) and this one is seriously the best-tasting and best looking one! I am so glad I had the opportunity to have a custom cake ordered through the wonderful and famous DH Cake Studio and I would definitely order from here again! 10/10 and I wholeheartedly recommend DH Cake Studio to anyone looking for an amazing cake, both inside and out!! read more

If you want to find the best cake, look no further. I spoke to Daphne for my husband's birthday cake and about my requirements. She was so responsive and helped me in choosing the perfect flavor as well. She is so clear with all the details, And made the cake exactly how I wanted. I really like how caring she is. Beautiful aesthetically pleasing cakes that are just as delicious! We wanted to give our mom a special cake for her 60th birthday so I did some quick online search and stumbled upon DH Cake Studio. I love the work Daphne does and her creativity in theme cakes - check out her IG if you get the chance! We wanted a simple floral cake with hints of white, pink, green and blue with white cake. Given how beautiful the cakes are, I was afraid it would be too sweet (my parents can't eat too much sugar due to health reasons) but the cake was really really light in sweetness! It was a big hit among our families, and my uncle was raving how delicious it is. I normally don't eat much cakes, but I had two slices that evening! The strawberry filling was lightly sweet and had the perfect strawberry flavor. The cake was perfectly moist and stayed well in the fridge for a few hours. The next day the cake was just as delicious! It's covered in buttercream which isn't sweet at all. She's really responsive to her emails which I appreciate. Daphne suggested the 6" cake that would be enough to feed roughly 12 people. We plenty of cake leftover after feeding roughly 8-9 people. Total came out to $117, and I went to pick it up in the Union City location off Mission. Closer to the date I got an email confirmation and a text reminder. I arrived a few min early and called her - she came out with the cake. Then when it was safe, I got out of my car, signed the form on a small table in front and went home. I had no issues driving the cake home since I avoided the freeways and it was a Saturday morning, so not many cars were out. If she would still be around UC, I would order more from her in the future but her location is moving to San Jose. I'll try to check out her new bakery when it opens up! read more

I ordered a hotwheels cake for my son's 5th birthday from Daphne and she did not disappoint! All of our guests raved at the details and loved how light and fluffy it was. I sent an idea of the cake to Daphne and she went above and beyond of what I wanted. My usually camera shy son kept asking me to blow out his candles because he was so excited for his cake. If you want to work with some who is great with details and communication then look no further. My only regret is not saving a piece for myself for later. Thanks again Daphne! The Super Simple Songs themed cakes and cookies were gorgeous and accurate. The one year old twins' faces lit up when they first saw the cakes and recognized their favorite characters. I'm not sure how popular the Super Simple cartoons are, so I was a little bit worried if the cakes will be on point but Daphne's talent just blew me away. The cakes itself were so delicious. The guests were so impressed by the white cake with mango filling and the black cake with caramel filling. Even though it was an intimate party, the two cakes were almost gone before the party ended. But the thing I was most impressed with was Daphne's professionalism. It's hard to find a baker that will agree to make your custom cake during this pandemic. I tried to reach out to various bakers around the bay area but never got a reply. I was so glad my friend told me about DH Cake Studio. Daphne's prompt response to my inquiries was so refreshing and reassuring that I decided to get her services to make the twins' first birthday a memorable one. I highly recommend this bakeshop and will be ordering from her again for my future parties. read more

Daphne, follow all the instructions I gave her I sent her a picture of what I wanted and she mastered it. Her customer service is amazing she really does an outstanding job, it's hard to find the perfect cake because you either find a good flavor but the decoration isn't good or vise versa . But Daphne she goes above and beyond to make your order the cake was beautiful the flavor was tasty, smooth, fluffy it was just perfect. Everyone loved it so many compliments about the cake. Daphne was so accommodating about this cake and she is really an awesome cake designer. When I presented this to my wife she was so surprised and excited about it. It was one of the most cutest cakes I've ever laid my eyes on and it was just beautifully made. It was so cute that my wife didn't even want to cut into it for 3 days. She then took the decorations and kept it for 2-3 weeks before we had to discard it. This cake was beautiful and Daphne did everything she could to make it perfect. The came came out so wonderful and the quality was soft and on point. I just realized that I forgot to catch up with her and order our second cake because I thought it was already set. I hope all turns out well and I am definitely waiting on the 2nd cake. I would definitely recommend her for any one who wants to make their cake day special. I ordered my toddler's cake from this bakery because I thought the designs were unique and cute. The owner was quick to respond to inquiries and the ordering process was smooth. As for the taste and the look of the cake, I was disappointed. The buttercream was too sweet, it lacked flavor but instead just tasted like sugar. The inside of the cake also looked messy, the layers of the cake and the buttercream crumbled. The fondant also wasn't smoothed out, the part where the ends met were hidden in the back so that's they weren't too noticeable. I'd probably give it another try because I love their designs. Not sure if my cake was done by a student? Since the bakery does hold classes to teach aspiring bakers. read more

Everyone absolutely loved the cake! It looked nearly identical to the inspiration photo, just on a larger scale. The inside was a brilliant color blue as IT'S A BOY (failed to get a photo of the inside )! As one of the guests said, "it's the perfect cake for a summer day". Everyone took pictures with the cake and "mom-to-bee". The only silence during the baby shower was when we were all eating the cake. Nobody had anything negative to say, all positive! Well done! Great service, communication, and very easy to make an order! Most of all, the quality is spectacularly picture-perfect-- just how we ordered it. Daphne even customized the gold parts of our cake order and changed them to rose gold to match the party decor! I recently ordered two cakes from Daphne. Both cakes were exactly what I was looking for. 1. Half birthday cake - blue ombré cake with vanilla sponge with vanilla buttercream. This was moist and not too sweet, just the way I like it. 2. Bridal shower cake - vanilla sponge with mango mousse. This was beyond delicious. The cake was very flavorful and light with just the right level of sweetness. The cake was gone in minutes and all our guests were grabbing seconds! Absolutely loved the masterpiece Daphne created for my baby. Kids were all around the cake and were in awe :). They loved the flavor too. The mango flavor with perfect sweet levels was perfect for our outdoor birthday party. By the end of the party, the cake was over. Kids ate the edible doll too. Words cannot explain how happy I am to have found Daphne for my moms birthday cake. The whole process went very smooth - from our communication through text, to filling out the form, to the pick up process. The cake itself is just beyond AMAZING and I was completely speechless when I saw it. She definitely exceeded my expectations and the details were incredible. Not only was the cake beautiful but also tasted great! Family members and friends were saying, "Is that the real bag or is that the cake?!" "Don't slice it, it's too perfect" lol! If I can give 1000/5 stars I will. This is my second cake from Daphne , the most beautiful cake you can ever have,it just doesn't look great but it tastes amazing . Nothing is impossible for Daphne , you just show your inspiration and she will make the cake better then your pic and all handmade edible design . I love the fairy cake she made this time for my daughters birthday, GBU Daphne for such an amazing cake . Daphne is extremely nice and professional and her prices are so genuine too . I found this cake lady through yelp as she is nearby my house. I asked her to make the bow RED and she said yes she can do it. I am in super love with my cake thank u!!! She is very responsive to text messages and prices are reasonable. Her yelp website has a lot of cake pictutes i would definitely look at those before deciding which one u like. She had me fill out the form online and we were communicating through text messages afterwards. This is the 2nd time shop in this cake at this cake studio. This was best cake studio I've ever experienced. The birthday cake not only looks so pretty but also taste delicious. The inner of this cake was mango mousse. The appearance was so creative. I just supply some inspiration pictures. The cake artist was so nice, she will tell me which favors was best and this cake can serve how many people's. I really love this cake studio and I will shop in this studio again. read more
