    Butterfly themed birthday cupcakes
    Shruthi P.

Lovely cupcakes with butterfly theme made by Shaven. Thank you so much for making this extra special for us

I don't post reviews often but I have to share that Shavon made the cutest cake for my fiancé's birthday. She was so quick to respond to my requests and attentive to my needs. She also was very communicative on timing. Thank you again for the delicious cake!!

Formerly known as Jen's Cakes, but they are known as CustomCakesbyShavon's. Their service was attentive to detail and quick to get back to me. Our custom order was exactly how was described it and a detail wasn't missed. The earlier you contact them about a custom cake, the more love and attention they will give your cake, so make sure to give at least a few weeks ahead of time to order your custom cake.

My mom ordered a cake with the owner of All Sweet Treats (Shavon) as a surprise for my birthday and my god this is the best cake I've eaten in my life! AND IT WAS VEGAN?? My partner was convinced it wasn't because the filling and frosting didn't have an aftertaste like some of the other vegan cakes we've tried from other places. Cake was beautifully made and tasted amazing. Am bookmarking this business so that I can order from them in the future. 10/10. Oh! And my mom mentioned that this business is women owned and operated too! Thank you for my awesome bday cake!

Inquired through Yelp and got a response fairly quickly to email them. Shavon was super quick in responding, even though I ordered the cake I wanted only a few days before I needed it. I sent about three pictures of inspiration of how I wanted the cake, and everything was taken care of after that. Cake was delivered on time and looked great! I also love how there's a big variety of flavors to choose from.

Jen's Cakes did an amazing job for my sisters bridesmaids proposal cookies! Shavon was so easy to work with and had great communication through the whole process of deciding what I wanted. I sent her a photo of some cookies I wanted and she exceeded my expectations. I ordered a week in advance and was able to pick up my cookies the morning I needed them! I will for sure be ordering my cakes and cookies from here moving forward!

We attended a friend's birthday party this weekend and Jen's Cakes provided two gorgeous and delicious tasting cakes. The first cake was a banana flavored white cake and the 2nd a chocolate cake with bananas and whipped cream filling. I love chocolate, so you know I especially loved the chocolate cake. So good...highly recommend.

Shavon's cakes are incredible! They are stunning, incredibly delicious, and so many options! The tastings provided options we wouldn't have originally thought of, and ended up choosing. The dessert table setup provided so much flexibility and a stress free process for the big day!

I chose Jens Cakes because of the wonderful and freakishly talented Shavon!!! Not only did my wedding cake need to be Gluten-Free, but we had a black/white marble theme, AND we can't stand fondant, and wanted buttercream frosting. Shavon is AMAZING!!!!!! YOU COULD NOT TELL THIS CAKE WAS GF!!! Everyone at the wedding was raving about how good this cake was. Thank goodness we took the top layer off after cutting it, bc it was completely GONE before we could get a slice!! It should have fed over 50 people, and there was only 42 people there!!! (I think I know who went back for 2nds or 3rds lol) In fact, the cake was so delicious, I have to order another small one for the Mr and I, so we have something to eat on our 1 year anniversary. We were SUPPOSED to put our third tier in the freezer...but it's so freaking good, we can't stop eating it!!!! Now, onto how gorgeous the marble buttercream frosting turned out!!! I don't know if it was more beautiful, than delicious!! Seriously!! I can add a pic, but it won't do this work of art the justice it deserves. I can't show you how good it tastes, because 1) I don't know you. 2) There isn't anymore!!! Shavon is the sweetest, hardest working, incredibly funny, most generous person I've met in a very long time. I will be going to her (and HER ONLY) as long as she will be local!!! And who knows..if she leaves the area, I just might stalk her. Sorry Shavon, your fault!!! Addicting cakes!!!!!!

The service alone deserves 5 stars. I emailed Jen about ordering a half and half cake. Because I anticipated the answer I asked if it'd be OK to order 2 different cakes so she can use it to make it a half an half. Although a strange request but Jen was able to accommodate my request. After a day in Santa Cruz we came by to pickup the cake in the afternoon on a Saturday. It is easy to miss because you will not see this bakery from the street... just follow your GPS or make sure you stop when following the address sequence down Lincoln Ave. Shortly after picking up the cake I had Tess blow out the candles and make a wish. As we were cutting the cake, I made sure to cut it completely in half so we can see the inside. The red velvet and the cookies and cream are decadent, smooth, and not overly rich. now that I'm older I appreciate sweet treats w/o making me feel sick after eating it. Both kids enjoyed the cake very much. I'd definitely order from Jen again. Oh, if you are wondering what happened to the other 2 halves, I had it boxed for consumption. It was so nice of them to ice it and decorate the second cake.

Shavon made the CUTEST cookies with baby girl theme so I could give to my parents! They were adorable but they also smelled amazing and tasted even better!! I didn't have any design in mind so she did her thing and it was perfect!! Thank you so much!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

What we were expecting and what we got :(

I don't normally post 2 star reviews but we were honestly just so disappointed with our cake. We chose Jen's cakes because the pictures looked great and they said they could do a shaped cake. I'm not a cake expert but the design felt relatively simple and we contacted them weeks in advance. You can see in my photo what we were expecting and what we got. Yes it *technically* was a round shape with a face, but it just felt so distorted (bizarrely tall, no dimpling at the top, eyes and smile placement is off, no blushy cheeks). My husband said it looked like Jack from Jack in the Box, I thought it looked like a snowman head. The only good thing was the raspberry cream cheese filling. We chose chocolate faustine as the cake flavor, which was described as a creamier chocolate. I don't know what it was supposed to be like, but our cake texture was just really dense and kinda dry. We splurged and paid $140 for this 7" round cake (for context, this cost half of what I paid for my wedding cake which was for 100+ guests!) because we wanted something special for our baby's first birthday. We really had higher hopes :( Giving 2 stars because the staff/people were nice.

My sister chose to purchase her wedding cake from Jen's Cakes. We first arrived for the tasting about 4 or 5 months prior to the wedding. I attended along with the Bride, and my nephew. We were greeted immediately upon entering (the location is kind of funky and parking is awful nearby). We were given one plate with about 8 samples on it. We tried and tested each one - wish we had coffee to go along with that much cake in the morning. We ended up choosing something with raspberry, and something with green tea. There were some slight issues the days before the event with my sister's succulent decorations but it wasn't anything earth shattering. The cake ended up being lovely and the green tea was BOMB. Moist, soft, delicious goodness that was devoured by the bridal party a day later. I would recommend Jen's business to any brides and grooms who are looking for a pretty simple and easy wedding cake experience.

We got 2 of the creme brulee matcha swirl due to the hype of this drink. The cream was extremely thick and just for my preference, it was too much. The matcha was not as strong to balance the sweetness and decadency of the cream. We ended up letting it melt a bit so we can drink the matcha without having to eat chunks of the cream. If you like your matcha thick, then I recommend this drink! It was just not up my alley unfortunately.

Chamomile tea drink -This paired nicely with the cold desserts. It was warm and refreshing at the same time. I almost never order nor see chamomile tea on menus so this was cool. One note: there was a water station available, but the cups were SO small. Maybe 2-3 gulps of water per cup. I wish they were bigger. Overall, I enjoyed coming here for dessert after our big dinne I think this is a nice addition to the Campbell.

The reviews for the drinks are very mixed, specially durian madness. so I was nervous to order it. I chose the milk tea instead . It had chunks of fruit and salted foam at the top. 25% sweetness, less ice was perfect!!! Also tried the hambalang milk tea. It was a good black milk tea with jelly. Nothing too unique. Durian crepes were light , had a good balance of durian and the whip cream .

I enjoyed my durian desserts. It was good, I'm not a fan of a lot of jellies in my drinks. I liked how it was made with coconut milk, durian, and jellies. I just would like my drink to be thicker and less jellies. But, it was still delicious. My sis ordered a Milo drink and wasn't a fan of it. My other sis got a strawberry matcha. She had no complaints. My mom enjoyed her taro dessert but wasn't a fan of the taro, durian, and salted egg. I thought it was overly sweet for my taste. We ordered extra drinks to offer to the monks (there were more than I expected)..oops! It was a warm day and we were all excited to be there. It was overall a great day and to have a place that was had unique Vietnamese drinks was a plus!

Is Izumi matcha worth the hype?…read more I have been to Izumi matcha over ten times at this point and remember first trying it in their original location in the silver creek area of San Jose before the matcha boom. Prior this place was unique and delicious, and really hit a spot. I believe that now with the various matcha spots around, it may not have as much as of unique selling point. Their tornado matcha is good and sweet, and is a great dessert however in my personal opinion, their traditional drinks are not standouts. Last week I went with a friend and ordered a matcha oat latte with a double shot, and while I tasted the matcha, it was grainy and didn't really have any depth. I wouldn't say I would avoid going here, for a matcha option and to get caffeinated for the day. It is still an option but I feel like it wouldn't be fair to say it's worth driving over 30+ minutes here. As a note too, this location can get extremely busy in terms of parking! The plaza is popping with heavy hitters. Service was fine as they do the self service kiosk with pick up being less than 5 minutes (no big lines), and the store itself is small with no seating outside but plenty of plaza seating outside.

Each drink is hand-whisked, so well worth the wait. Their cold foams were delicious and super flavorful as well. I was so excited to try the mango sticky rice matcha, as I hadn't seen this flavor anywhere else. The drink has a creamy salted coconut milk cold foam on top and some mango puree and glutinous rice on the bottom. Once everything was mixed, the mango flavor does get lost unfortunately. But still, the drink was amazing and rich. The guava li-hing matcha was sooo vibrant! I loved how the tropical flavor of the guava cold foam sprinkled with li-hing balanced out the earthy matcha. I've tried other guava matchas with guava puree on the bottom rather than cold foam on top, but I definitely prefer the latter to preserve the matcha flavor. The employees were kind and we came on a weekday afternoon with a short wait. Order at a kiosk. Limited seating inside. I wouldn't say this is an ideal study spot, but it is very aesthetic and bright. Parking was not a problem since this location is in a plaza.

Egg Coffee is pretty good -- not overly bitter. It's strong, but not too strong…read more The mango sticky rice matcha is good too, though the flavor is pretty subtle. I wish the mango sticky rice flavor came through a bit more, since you only really taste hints of the coconut and mango toward the end.
