SusieCakes is one of those classic, old-school bakeries that focuses on simple, nostalgic desserts…read moredone consistently well. The vibe is clean and cheerful, and everything feels very "celebration bakery" rather than trendy or experimental. The cakes and cupcakes are the main highlight. The yellow/vanilla celebration cake in particular is soft, moist, and has a light, buttery crumb. The frosting is smooth and sweet but not overly artificial-tasting. It leans traditional--think birthday parties, family gatherings, and bake-sale-style comfort rather than gourmet or overly rich bakery styles. Portion sizes are generous, and the presentation is polished, especially for custom cakes. Customers often mention the consistency across locations--you usually know exactly what you're going to get. That said, some people feel the desserts can be on the sweeter side or slightly dense depending on preference. Pricing is definitely on the higher end for a bakery, but most agree the quality ingredients (real butter, eggs, simple recipes) and reliability justify it for special occasions. Service is generally friendly and efficient, especially for pre-orders and pickups. Overall: A dependable, classic bakery that excels at simple celebration cakes--especially vanilla/yellow cake--but may feel a bit too sweet or straightforward if you're looking for more modern or complex desserts.

It's been great having a SusieCakes in downtown Willow Glen, but a recent experience has made me rethink continuing to shop here. I pre-ordered my son's K-pop Demon Hunters cake ~1.5 weeks in advance. He's a huge fan, so we were excited that SusieCakes offered a themed cake! The cake was scheduled for a 10am pickup on Saturday. When my husband arrived and gave them my name, the staff looked confused and had no idea what order he was referring to--even after he showed the email confirmation. He said they seemed to scramble once they realized the mistake. They apologized, mentioned being short-staffed, and told him it would take 20 minutes to get the cake ready. They then offered him a single cupcake for the inconvenience, which he politely declined. After waiting the 20 minutes in the car, he went back in--only to find the cake still wasn't ready. It took another 20-25 minutes on top of that! Altogether, the order was nearly 45-50 minutes late. I didn't realize how long he had been gone until he called, and by then I was already deep into day-of party prep. I called the store to understand what happened. They apologized again and said they were short-staffed. I asked what they could do to make up for the delay, especially since we intentionally pre-ordered to avoid last-minute issues. The representative offered a $25 store credit--which felt surprisingly low considering the $100 price of the cake, the significant delay, and the lack of any proactive communication. We didn't even receive a heads-up call about the situation. The rep later put me on hold and came back to say they would instead refund $25 to my card. While I appreciate the gesture, the overall customer service felt dismissive of the inconvenience this caused on a busy party day. For a bakery I've supported so often, this experience was disappointing. I hope they improve how they handle future mishaps. It's a bummer because I truly enjoy their cakes, but the disappointment in how this situation was handled has me considering other options moving forward.

So when I say Cest Si Bon is flawless, you know it's serious. This has become our mandatory stop for every celebration, especially Nowruz. My mom literally hides the sweets so no one else will eat them. It's started a war in the family. Actually don't come here if you want peace. But do come here if you want the best - their Persian sweets are easily the most beautiful and delicious I've ever seen, but their real talent is dealing with me. I am notoriously indecisive and change my mind constantly, yet they remain incredibly accommodating. If they were ever annoyed with my million questions, they deserve an award for not showing it. They handle every order with a level of meticulous care that is unheard of. From small sweets to large cakes, they make sure they truly understand your vision and work with you until the moment you pick up that cake and shove it in your mouth. Haven't talked to my mom since she hid the nokhodchi from me. Worth it.

We've had them make Elmo, Cookie Monster, Woody from Toy Story, and Jessie and many more. Every single one turned out awesome. The cakes always look amazing and taste just as good. Honestly, this is hands-down the best place I've been to for custom cakes. Their attention to detail on the designs is next level, and they never disappoint. Ordering is super easy you can bring in a design idea or they'll help you figure one out, pick a date, pay, and that's it. When pickup day comes, the cake is ready to go and looks perfect every time. We've ordered at least six custom cakes from here and have never had a single issue. The staff is friendly and you can tell they take pride in their work. I usually grab a cookie or cupcake when I'm picking up the cakes, and those are always great too. If you need a cake that's going to wow people and taste great, this is the place. Can't recommend C'est Si Bon Bakery enough.

I guess I missed the note on their website that says you need to order vegan or gluten free cupcakes two days in advance. It was nice that they had red velvet but it seems like it's the go-to choice for most places, which makes it hard not to judge against other cupcakes. It was very good, the cake was moist, and I enjoyed the frosting. But it didn't quite measure up to my favorite vegan red velvet cupcake from Sprinkles. The shop is so cute and there's a good amount of parking. I went on a day when there were two people working, and they were both super nice. I thought the male worker was a bit more helpful, but they were both kind. I'd love to see more than one vegan option on the consistent in-store menu, rather than needing to order ahead.

My Asian tastebuds found 3 of the 4 to be too sweet. Burnt almond: 4.5/5. Moist, not too sweet, great flavor, the crunchiness of the almond mixture coating the frosting was a great touch. Only complaint is that the frosting texture was a touch too oily/buttery and dense, it felt like I was eating a solid chunk of sweetened whipped butter. Taste was great tho. 24 Carrot: 4/5. Perfectly spiced, fluffy frosting complemented the cake perfectly, it was just too sweet for me. Lemon cake with lemon buttercream: 4/5. Lemon flavor was very subtle and mild, could've been stronger. Also: too sweet. Coffee toffee crunch: 4.5/5. Too sweet, but the frosting and crunch were sooo good! Incredible coffee flavor. I would come here again if I needed cupcakes for an event. These were top notch, for American cupcakes.

My go-tos are: - A A Ron Latte, iced - The white chocolate, hazelnut, and cinnamon flavors blend together perfectly but you can still distinctly taste all three along with the espresso. It also doesn't have any weird aftertastes from the white chocolate or hazelnut syrup, which is an issue I've run into at other coffee places. - London Fog, iced with raspberry cold foam - It's surprisingly hard to find a coffee place that does London Fogs well, especially iced, but this is definitely one of them. The earl grey tea is super strong, and it's complemented by a good amount of vanilla syrup. Also, no weird aftertaste from the vanilla or raspberry. - Mr. Sunshine sandwich, replace the bacon with avocado - This is simple, healthy, and delicious, plus it comes with a little mandarin. I especially love the 9-grain bread that they use because it reminds me of the brown bread from Cheesecake Factory. While I could make something like this at home, I don't always have the time, energy, or ingredients on hand, so I love that I can still get a healthy lunch with my daily caffeine. Looking forward to trying the rest of the menu and hopefully dining in one day!

Bagels have been one of my favorite foods since I was a kid, but lately I haven't had a taste for them. This morning I thought a bagel sandwich sounded good, but unfortunately I couldn't eat it. It was my issue, not a problem with the food. The apple hand pie was scrumptious. I liked that it wasn't overly sweet. The iced hot chocolate wasn't great, but that was because I ordered it with half sweetness and it needed more. I'm saving the banana bread for later, but I have a feeling it will be good warmed up.
