We saved for a while and, like most people, shopped around for quotes. We got quotes from 6 different roofers. We have a roughly 1600 sq ft home and were quoted upwards of $23K for a roof replacement by some companies. This was not including any potential dry rot replacement or gutters, of which we figured there may have been some dry rot. We were getting really stressed out not only because of the prices we were quoted, but the lack of connection as well. This was a huge investment on our part and, while perfectly cordial, most interactions felt surface-level. That was until we had the opportunity to meet Josue. You won't find anyone else who will work harder or care more about making sure you feel comfortable and informed throughout the entire process while also offering the most affordable prices. COST: More than reasonable. After we shopped around for quotes, he not only had the best price, but also the best value. Hands down the best "bang for your buck" if this is your top priority. While very conscientious of making sure no materials were wasted and walked us through every step of the process. The roof looks clean and is marvelously crafted. UNFORESEEN OBSTACLE: We did have a permit issue with the city regarding an overhang attachment to our home, but again, Josue went up to bat for us. I was very stressed out to hear we would not be able to move forward with this area of the house (not Josue's fault), and he calmly and patiently walked me through the process and told me not to worry that his crew could come back and knock out the area quickly at a later time. I called to get an estimate and was assisted by Alejandro. He scheduled a date that worked best for me to come out for an estimate. On the day of the appointment, Alejandro kept me informed on when he was arriving. Once he arrived, he asked all the questions and started the necessary inspections. He inspected every inch of the roof and even used a drone to help. He itemized everything that needed to be addressed and broke them down into sections with estimates listed next to them. Based on the inspections, he identified there was moss present that needed removal, few shingles were damanged, gutters were detached, etc. He took many before photos of what he identified that needed to be addressed. He went through each item with me very thoroughly. I decided to hire them on the spot. He said his crew can come out the next day. They require a 10% deposit. On the day of the project, his crew showed up promptly. They got straight to work. The project took around 4.5 hours long to finish. After they were done, they sent me the after photos with the invoice. The roof looks brand new after the cleaning. I am so glad I found them on Yelp. I called ACS because they are experts with tile roofs. Mark was very honest with me about ACS not doing the cleaning of roofs any longer but, I was so grateful that he spent extra time giving me all of the information about my roof and who to call to clean it as well as what to look for when hiring someone. The warranty company and insurance companies refused to cover damages despite 40 year warranty and active coverage. In my journey, I had over a dozen companies come out to inspect the roof and provide estimates. These companies could not explain to me the extent of the damage and justify the outrageous quotes being provided. I truly felt at a loss. Then one day I walked outside my house and saw my some roofers working on my neighbors house. Lucky me I thought, another roofing company; I didn't realize at the time how lucky I was to meet Miguel and his father. I scheduled an inspection with them as I'd done many times with other outfits at the point. From day one to the end of the project, Miguel and his father were on point: punctual, professional, and true masters of their craft. He educated me regarding building codes and roofing standards throughout the inspection, uninstallation, and installation process, and kept a clear line of communication throughout the whole ordeal. He even assisted me in battling the material warranty coverage and advised me on my rights as a homeowner. I could write a novel about how professional, expert, accommodating, diligent, thorough, and honest Miguel and MAG are. And none of it would do these gentlemen justice. They are quite possibly the best tradesman I've had the pleasure of working with in my life. When dealing with the HVAC portion of the project company, MAG came out half a dozen times to ensure the roofing around the HVAC was perfect. To say he went the extra mile would be a gross understatement. I'm in near disbelief at the amount of work they put in to ensure the job was completed to an excellent standard. I cannot recommend MAG Roofing enough.
