The first guy gave us a great $ Price $ quote, sadly he was not insured (um, huge red flag to me, anything to happen we would be at fault, or a grey area, and I dont need to deal with a grey area , someone getting hurt, and or lawsuits if it came to it. The other guys $ price $ ranged was close , just a few thousand dollars apart ish. But a few thousand is a few thousand, We are a budget family, only have one provider, my wife, I am on full Disability, so I try to help her with any thing I can, sometimes it hard due to my chronic pain, really takes it out of it, but she is Amazing.. ANYWAYS, back to this ROOF. lol "Davis Roofing", It came down to what ive researched , I narrowed it to 2 companies, "Davis Roofing" . I am very grateful that they took those massive boards/beams out, since they were really warp, so they replaced them, looks great like nothing happened or wasnt repaired. No charge , it was in our quote , so Im guessing they do that for all there customers, and part of there bussiness model , which is awsome and doesnt throw a wrench into the operation of the roof, and extra fees that is already expsive enough, lol... They really want to earn your business. And trust me they go the extra Mile for you. I could go on about there company and met with the owner, nice guy.. Davis Roofing Group was very professional and responsive to work with from start to finish. They responded to my call for a roof repair estimate promptly, sent out a technician to inspect the next day and provided a detailed quote by email later that day. Work was scheduled two days after the contract was signed (6/17/26). The job included cleaning flashes and removing debris in valleys and roof-to-wall areas, replacing 4 broken tiles, replacing dry rotted plywood and fascia boards, and extending a downspout. The roof technicians Enrique (completed the majority of the work), and Tyler and Johnathan (wrapped up the remaining work - downspout) worked diligently in hot summer weather and completed quality work. Everyone I had contact with including the office personnel (Jennay) and estimate technician (Dustin) were courteous, polite and helpful in answering my questions. Michael's Inspection showed eleven broken tiles and excessive mold which can be a Homeowners Insurance renewal issue. His quote was very fair compared to others. Michael and Miguel arrived early, explained what he was going to do and got to work. All the tiles were replaced with "aged tiles" he had in stock so the repair is not noticeable like some in our neighborhood. The mold was completely removed after the repairs and a mild preventative solution was used. They cleaned up the mold nodules before leaving. On time, fair price, excellent communication and service. Getting a roof changed is never an easy or fun task for any homeowner. It is daunting to know that it's an expensive project and like many, I procrastinated for as long as possible. Having no knowledge about roofs, I did extensive research over months and got bids/quotes from 10 companies (yes, excessive, but gotta do my part to ensure I don't get ripped off). Davis Roofing Group came out on top with their stellar customer service, ratings and warranty. Of the 10 companies I got a bid from, only 1 other company (who uses Owen's Corning product) beat Davis Roofing Group's GAF warranty of 25 years (parts and labor). Owen's Corning has the Platinum warranty plan, which covers materials for 50 years. However, I still went with Davis Roofing Group (they use GAF) because Mike, the owner, was honest in his communication during the initial consultation and did not try to upscale me on anything. He gave me the optional items (i.e gutter changes, gutter screens) to consider, but did not pressure me to purchase them. We discussed the other bids and he was willing to meet the price of the other bids, whilst, still maintaining the GAF Gold Pledge warranty (25 years - which is by far better than the standard 5-10 years that the majority roof contractors provide). The biggest perk that sold me was that he included dry rot/wood repair as part of the total quoted/contract price. All other contractors will charge $60-$85 per man per hr, which can add up really quick. During my consult with Mike, he told me that they use GAF Timberline HDZ Reflective Shingles as it's the newest & best on the market. I, however, wanted an Energy Star shingle (to get tax credit ya know). Unfortunately, none of GAF Timberline HDZ Reflective shingles meet the Energy Star rating despite its name. I did a bit more digging on the GAF manufacturer's website and came across another shingle line (Cool Roof series), which had the color option I wanted (to match the house color) and meets the Energy Star criteria. I messaged the office coordinator, Cintra, about the Cool Roof Series and she told me they can certainly special order that for me at no additional cost - BAM, that's a win. Cintra was pleasant to communicate with the whole time ... she's super fast at responding to emails. She coordinated with the work crew and myself when it came to ordering the product I wanted, scheduling the roof replacement and providing me with updates. The work crew came on time on the scheduled date, tore off my old roof in just 2 hours and completed the entire job within the week. Oh, might I mention the additional perks? As part of the price, they replaced all my old vents, which made a huge difference with my ventilation, esp in the bathroom, which used to always feel like a sauna after I showered + foggy mirrors. Since the vent change, no more sauna or foggy mirrors. The last perk was that Mike threw in good quality micro-mesh gutter guards for me (to replace my danky plastic ones) at no additional charge. All-in-all, I had ZERO issues with their service. My new roof looks great and I was left feeling like my money was well spent. I recommend this company to anyone in the area they service looking to get a roof replacement. read more

I called several roofing companies to repair a leak in my roof and Mike Davis came out quickly, inspected my roof, and gave me a fair quote for the repairs. Several years ago I had another roofing company repair the leak but the roof still leaked after several attempts to stop the leak. Mike's team came out and took photos where the roof was leaking and completed their work efficiently. We got a quote for roof repairs in January, and the company owner noted that he thought he had fixed our reported garage leak during his inspection. Davis Roofing's cost came in $300 higher than our other bid, but we decided to go with them because of the apparent excellent customer service. Davis Roofing completed the job and we thought all was well. However, upon inspection of the roof leak during the next big storm, I was very disappointed to see that the leak was still there. We reported the leak to Davis Roofing and requested that they complete the fix. Their response was that they had done us a favor and that they had not charged us for a leak repair, and therefore would require an additional $400 to diagnose the leak, plus another unknown amount to actually fix the leak. The heart of the matter is that they assumed the garage leak was coming from a damaged pipe boot around the pipe jack, but it turns out they assumed incorrectly. They did not state at the time of the bid that their fix might or might not work, nor how much it might cost in addition if their fix didn't work, so we assumed that the $1500 we paid them guaranteed the leak was fixed. While I don't believe the contractor had bad intentions, their failure to communicate the potential risk of an incomplete fix was misleading, especially given that this leak was the primary reason we were seeking roof repairs. In addition, their response to our request to make things right has been very disappointing. While miscommunication can happen, the lack of ownership on their part for this miscommunication should concern anyone looking for roofing services. Buyer beware. read more

We had a storm with severe winds and rain in Rancho Cordova over the weekend. A leak started in my garage during the storm and Michael was able to come out several days sooner than anyone else I called in the area. Michael was very professional and was able to diagnose and fix the issue in a very timely manner. He didn't charge me for the slipped roof tile he repaired since it wasn't a major service, but I really appreciated his effort to come out and put my mind at ease with the roof (more storms are on the horizon). This is an update to a previous review. Got my roof done this month and I am so happy with the end result. The color of gray is beautiful (not too dark nor too light) and matches well with the rest of my house. The workers were all fantastic, and they work really hard. I got exhausted just watching them. Got a new roof replacement last year and it's great, no leaks and looks good. My problem is with the new gutters, they are always clogging up compared to the old gutters. If I would have known this, I would have kept the old ones. Update May 24, 2019 Mike(owner) came out and unclogged all the drains that were clogged and put some gutter screens on all gutters.
