The roofing work itself was done well, but unfortunately, the follow-through has been extremely disappointing. There were finishing touches around the gutters that were never completed, specifically the caulking. I'll take some responsibility for paying the final bill because I assumed they would come back and finish the job. However, considering how much money we paid, I absolutely expected the company to make sure the job was completely finished before considering it paid in full. We have contacted them MULTIPLE times about the unfinished work. We have been told they would come back and take care of it, only for them to never show up. Other times, we've reached out and received no response at all. On top of that, we were never provided with a paid invoice, despite having paid for the work. We shouldn't have to repeatedly chase down a company for both unfinished work and basic documentation after paying them a significant amount of money. At this point, it's incredibly frustrating. The actual roofing work may have been good, but a job isn't truly finished when there are unfinished details, the company repeatedly says they'll come back and doesn't, messages go unanswered, and we still don't have a paid invoice. This could have been a very positive experience, but the lack of communication, follow-through, and professionalism has really changed my opinion. If you hire them, I strongly recommend making sure every single detail is completed, inspected, and documented before making your final payment. read more

Mr Gonzalez came over and agreed to do a roof and gutters for $16,000. Told us he would start in about Week and half. Now it's been longer. I have called and texted many times. I got him to answer once on the phone and he told he would start by last Friday and now he is no longer answering my calls or responding to any text. This is supposed to be a professional company. If he didn't want to do the roof and gutters then he should have never agreed and shook hands with my dad. This bad business and highly recommend for everyone to be careful doing business with him. read more

Called them to come out for a roof leak and get a quote on repairs. They no called no showed twice and would not answer the phone when we called them. Would definitely never use a company who doesn't have the decency to give perspective clients a call if they can't make it. Save your time and breath and call someone else. read more

They were a no-show. More than once. Never returned any of my voicemail messages. I contacted Gonzalez Roofing to get a quote to replace the gutters on our house. I talked to someone who said they'd call me back about coming out for a quote. A week later, after no return call, I called again and Eric came out the next day for a quote. The price was reasonable, so I said yes right away. We were having the house painted so it would be a few weeks until we would have them out. I called when we were ready to go. I had to call several times because no one ever returned any of my calls. When someone finally answered the phone they said they could come out the next day to take down the old gutters before the house was painted. No one showed up. I called to find out what happened and left voicemail. No one returned my calls, so I finally took the downspouts down myself. I called them back a couple days later letting them know the painting was complete and ready for them to install the gutters. They said they'd come out the following week (Tuesday at 9am). I was there, but no one showed up. I called several times that morning and left voice mail. Finally around noon, I called again and someone answered. He said that he was out of town and would have to check and find out what was going on. No one ever got back to me. I found someone else to do the work. read more

I have an enclosed porch and old, ill-fitting french doors in my guest room. Both areas used to get MUCH hotter than the rest of the house. We are on our fourth or fifth day of temperatures over 105 degrees my new reflective roof is making a HUGE difference. Great product! read more

As far as customer service goes. My parents were trying to do the roofing on their house the owner of the company came to look at the house and wouldn't give them an estimate! They were ready to have the roofing done but why wouldn't they give them an estimate!? Pure discrimination. Why else refuse a paying customer ? read more

Gonzalez Roofing installed my tile roof several years ago. I recently had signs of roof leakage and contacted him, asking him to check it out. He scheduled an appointment but did not show up. Later, after calling him back twice to re-schedule, I had a 9:00 am appointment for him to look at the roof. Instead, a very young (teen age?) guy showed up ---at 1:00 pm. After looking, he tried to sell me a $650 roof cleaning and was unable to see any problem on the roof. We live in Stockton CA, and this company is in Lodi, CA They repaired the roof on the home we bought. There was damage to our roof due to the storm we just had and the roof had a warranty on it. I called the day after to have them come out they said they would be out the next day. They never came. I called and left a message, no response. I called the next day, no answer but left a message. I then put a review on another site. Less than an hour they show up. When I went outside to speak to them they were no where to be found. Turns out they used my ladder to go onto the roof and didnt bother to ask me before using it, they could have asked me first. Then after assessing the damage they told me I had to pay around $375 to get the repairs done and the warranty was for only 2 years. My paperwork says 7 years and it has not been 2 years since the repairs have been done that it has been less than a year. He then says that he didnt repair the areas where the damage was done and proceeds to make a phone call to speak to someone who I assume may have been the owner (however he mentioned that he was the owner but he looked a little too young to be the owner) and while speaking to someone then insults me by calling me old to the person he was talking to. I am so frustrated with them that I had to have my husband come home from work to talk to them. I would not recommend this company and would advise anyone who is considering on hiring them to go somewhere else. read more

I had three bids for a new roof on my rental property. My realtor, who also manages properties, told me that Gonzalez Roofing is the best and most reasonable. Sure enough, their bid came in the lowest. The work was started and completed within a very timely manner. That was three years ago. After getting 3 estimates, we chose this company for their fair price. Knowing we were getting a dry week prior to a rainy week, the owner suggested we start right away. I tried three times with these people to come and get an estimate for my roof I'm looking for a complete demolition and a new roof put on plus gutters and water spouts they made an appointment never showed two times this is not a good company to go to if this is any example how they do their job they can't even come in a timely fashion to do an estimate would not recommend them and they came recommended. read more

New gutters were installed at my home. The caulking used on the downspouts is messy, a section of leaf guard was not replaced, there was some touch-up splotches around the rivets, and a small section of the downspout was not completely vertical. Repeated calls to the office and foreman to resolve these issues have gone unanswered for over a month. read more

I used this company upon recommdation 11 years ago. Everything went well at that time. They did a nice job an cleaned everything up. I have now gotten a leak in my garage. I had called the first time. A lady answered an said she would have the owner call me. No call back. So I called owners cell phone. He came out that afternoon. Have me a estimate. Told me he would do the jkb following week. I called following week to find out what day. Told me Friday. No show. Called again the following week. Told me oh been busy an for sure it would be done Friday or Saturday for sure. NO SHOW AGAIN. Guess repeat customers are not needed or the job wasn't big enough. I contracted this company to put a roof and gutters on my parents house over the summer(2013) based on a recommendation from a neighbor. It did not rain until recently(Nov 2013), which is when my father discovered that the water in the gutters was not draining because there were not enough drains installed. I called the owner and he said he would be back Dec 4, 2013, since he was on vacation. On Dec 9, my father said he still was a no show, so I called again and the owner said he would put in the drains on Monday, Dec 16, but again he was a no show. I would have expected more from a company that's been in business for 17 years. He will get no more work or recommendations from me. Update Mar.1, 2014: a guy came out with gutters, in Jan., said he needed something else & never came back. Called owner Feb. 21, said he would send someone out that weekend, no show. Owner's just keeps leading you on. Been 3 months since I first called him, still no gutters. Time to file a complaint with the BBB. Update April 2014. Owner finally had someone install the gutters last month, but it took many calls and over 3 months. read more

Called again two days later said they would be our that day when I got home from work between 4-5 pm. NO show.................. never received a call back. Great price and extremely quick work! I was amazed how quickly they had my roof off and back on. It was about a quarter of the time it took twenty years ago and they even had to repair some of my understructure!
