I have a two year roof certification dated 9/25/25. I have found two leaks and dry rot but NRG does not provide any repairs for the damage they missed. We found damage shortly after we moved into our home. NRG came out twice to look but never followed up with repair. We ended up hiring another company to fix the roof leak and repair the dry rot. Now Two months later we hired a company to clean our gutters and remove moss from the roof and this contractor discovered another leak in a seperate area as well as the dry rot you see in the photos below. According to the certificate in the first photo attached NRG warranted this roof for two years from any leaks. They come and look at the damage but do not follow up with any remedy in this situation. Buyer beware if you use them to inspect your roof when purchasing a home. Our realtor ordered the inspection on our behalf and we paid the invoice. read more

This was the best experience i have had with home construction. I have had 5 homes and done hvac, windows, painting, plumbing, landscaping, flooring, siding, patios, and now a roof. I did not go with NRG for my re-roofing job. Primarily because the estimate/quote phase was very superficial/perfunctory and I only got a verbal quote, not the full e-mailed quote I was promised. Seemed to me that they weren't that keen on getting my business, and missed discussing several items like wood rot, garage venting, etc. that other vendors mentioned in terms of fixing the overall roof. This lack of up front information made it easy to go with another vendor. --- Update. A few days after I posted this review, I got a very aggressive call from NRG questioning my views here. I stand by every word. NRG claims that "OMG we called him five times", when four other contractors were able to reach me easily (via phone or e-mail) within 24 hours. If they had spent half as much time obtaining/using my contact information as they did griping to me about it on the phone, outcomes would have been better. Instead, I've got some person from NRG wasting my time to argue/berate me about my review of their quote process. Communications issues aside, the in person inspection/quote I got from NRG was perfunctory and low effort. Eddie from NRG Pros came out same day to identify and mitigate a small leak right before the last big storm a couple of days ago. He was able to diagnose the issue in about 10 minutes. He kindly caulked a small hole between tiles, suggested we monitor it, and let me know he would provide us an estimate for a long-term fix. Highly recommend NRG Pros! Had a tile roof leak from inside the garage. They sent Sam out the next day. NRG was the 2nd estimate received. The 1st estimate company from another roof contractor was way too high, and they ended up estimating the cost to repair would have been 3 times what NRG quoted. I won't mention the name of the other company, but I will say, do your due diligence when looking for a roof repair contractor on Yelp. The 1st company gave me an estimate without lifting a tile. Sam, from NRG Pros lifted tiles and showed me pictures, and pointed out the problem. I also received a fair and honest estimate which saved $thousand's, from what the other company wanted. We knew that our roof was at least 20+ years old with some dry rot work needed and knew it was a matter time before we would have to replace the roof. I began making calls for estimates and got quotes anywhere from $13,500 to $25,000 from 5 different companies. We met with Ron the owner and he just seemed very knowledgeable and experienced and not a high pressure salesperson like some of the other companies appeared to be. He listened to what we wanted and didn't try to up-sell us on something we didn't need. We felt a kind of trust and liked how he was so personable. Once we decided to go with his company we were scheduled within a week. Ron had his project manager Eric constantly communicate with us prior and during the process. Ron the owner even gave us his direct number in case we had any concerns or questions during the project which was finished in 4 days. Prior to the final inspection, we noticed the exhaust vent for the stove was not on the roof and we called Ron to let him know it was missing. Ron called the foreman on a Sunday that came out within a half hour and climbed into the attic to check it out. Apparently, the prior roofers from over 20 years ago never connected the exhaust pipe up to the stove. He called this information into Ron and Ron told him to go ahead a take care of the problem, no extra charge and the foreman was able to take care of it within 30 minutes. The day the County inspector came out and signed off on the paperwork, Eric came back out to make sure everything was completed, clean and made sure we were happy with the work. The workers did a good job and cleaned up any materials that fell on the ground. They even took our empty boxes we had left over from Christmas that were sitting on our front porch as we hadn't had the time to break the boxes down to put them in the trash. Several of the neighbors stopped by during the project and took pictures of the company sign and asked us how we liked their work. To be fair, all were approximately the same price, but Jesse of NRG impressed us with his professionalism and the time he took to discuss with us exactly what we wanted and what would work best for our house. We moved in to our house knowing we were on borrowed time for the roof and gutters. When it rained, we got a lot of particulate in the gutters (and subsequently all over the yards); We had a small gutter leak in the rear, where a gutter met the wall, that allowed a little water into the wall (ultimately causing internal water damage); The gutters leaked nearly as much as they channeled water to the downspout; One of the gutters had a straight downspout that would make a loud tinking noise after a rain because water droplets were falling about 8feet straight down to the bottom elbow... and so much more. We kept discussing roof and gutter replacement, unsure how we were going to fold it into our finances, until we got yet another leak that required some significant repairs. While we used another company to fix that, we knew it was time to replace it all. We initially called the company we'd worked with for the repairs, but they didn't really seem to care about answering their phone or returning calls. So, the search was on to find someone else. My wife took the initiative to start looking up roofers, and came across NRG Pros here on Yelp. Nearly all of our interactions were with the owner, Ron. He was friendly, welcoming, candid. On his first visit, he arrived with overhead pictures of the house (Google), a schematic of the house's roof and our detached room, and samples of his product (all layers). He laid out the process, the timeline, and set expectations. Our questions were answered simply, yet thoroughly. Our financing options were laid out clearly. A potential start date was discussed, with plenty of options. Bottomline, it's not enough to just say he came prepared. As with any major purchase, one should review all aspects and invite other options. My wife again took charge and searched for other roofers in the area. We had a couple consults, but none of them gave off the same vibe than Ron did. And not a single one came as prepared. We had no hesitations about moving forward with NRG Pros, so we called and scheduled a final consult. Ron again arrived prepared with all options available, walked us through the process (from start to finish), and presented us options to include a complete gutter replacement and damage repair (remember that leak in the rear?). The quote also included an allowance for any repairs that needed to be done, so they wouldn't have to stop working to call us for approval. Permits were pulled and inspections were done during and after. I could go on, but I won't. Suffice it to say, we were in contact throughout the entire process. Text? Answered. Calls? Answered or quickly returned. In-person conversations? The same great interaction we had from day 1. I did have a couple concerns as we got close to the end of the process (mainly because it rained a couple times), and they were quickly addressed. Any outstanding "issues" were fixed (my personal preferences, nothing done wrong). I don't often give 5 star reviews. After all is said and done, I can think of no reason that NRG Pros doesn't get that elusive 5th star. And NRG Pros has already been recommended to friends and family. read more

I went through NRG Pros based off the good reviews they had. Started off with Robert who came to do a presentation on what was to be expected. Great presentation, great customer service and ultimately because of this, we were sold! Communication started off great other than they were supposed to come on a Monday and never showed up. No one had told me they were not going to show up, however they did come by the following Wednesday as promised and were able to finish in time as promised right before a big storm, so I am thankful for that! Ultimately, the guys appear to have done a great job! They were there first thing in the morning and took a full 2 days to complete. I am not a roof inspector myself or have much knowledge about anything roof related but I assume everything was done adequately and replaced as needed as part of my estimate agreement, as my house is 100 years old, so I imagine if not, I would definitely know within the next couple of years if corners were cut. Just want to put this out there, as the City did not even inspect the roof before passing it! And I know this because I have cameras all around the house, and the inspector did not even go on the ladder or look around the perimeter of the home so I have to put my faith into this company. But I trust that everything was done well, it looks great and I feel so good knowing that they were able to schedule me quickly before a major storm. My one and only complaint would be how the ladder was left for the inspector. My roof was completed on a Friday, meaning this ladder would sit there until end of business day Monday. 3 days with a ladder in my driveway that is not tied down with a storm occurring over the weekend with high winds- major liability for me. I communicated that I was going to move the ladder. This was not an issue, as I was told that that was no problem and it was understood and they stated that someone will come out and tie it down in another location. About an hour later, I get a phone call from the VP, Eric, about me moving the ladder. I had to repeat myself 3x that I was told that the issue was being taken care of. What was even the point of the phone call? His tone, demeanor was essentially condescending and insincere. It was apparent that he was upset about the inconvenience of having to have one of his workers come out to fix the ladder, as he stated that he would now have to have his worker come "all the way" from Sacramento. He was also seemingly more concerned about his "ladder getting stolen" than my vehicles or essentially the safety issue as he expressed his concerns about his ladder. We literally went back and forth. So there I was apologizing for inconveniencing them. Again, the facts are the ladder was not tied down, would sit there for 3 days with a storm? I was not going to risk it. $20k job and I am the one apologizing. It was disappointing. All in all, I would still recommend this company because of Robert who made the process smooth and was very attentive. Below are pictures of before and after tie down. Easy fix to just move the ladder 8 feet away. UPDATE 12/15/21 The owner, Ron reached out to me earlier this morning and I had missed his call. He then reached out later in the day, which I found very responsive and attentive. Ron took the time to address my review in its entirety, remaining solution focused and seemingly from a genuine place. He apologized on behalf of his VP and remained professional and had great customer service, which is most important to me. I assured him that we are currently satisfied with the job of the roof and that we still would recommend this company to our friends/family/co workers. Because of the reviews, I called NRG because I have a squirrel problem with them getting into my attic through my heavy medal roof. Robert came out looked at the situation and said, I don't want to sell you a new roof, you don't need a new roof, you have the best one made. What you need is to have what's called exclusion done to seal the openings. NRG does not do that. It was a bit harder to find the company that works on metal, but finally did. So Robert, who is a very pleasant, informative, and ethical person, left saving me lots of money, instead of costing me lots of money. The 5-star reviews are real! Our detached garage roof finally given up the ghost and had a huge hole that needed proper fixing. With impending rain storms forecasted within the next week-I put out a emergency Friday call for a roofing contractor for quotes on Yelp. Within 20 minutes, NRG Pros reached out and asked if their owners could come by within the next hour to look at my garage and see what they could do. Whilst they were here, they confirmed that it was definitely needing the entire roof replaced- (1925 Carriage House Garage tarpaper/shingles- last roofed sometime last Century) but the good news was that it was a small /straightforward job. They quoted me a reasonable price- (approximately 1/2 what another contractor I had spoken with on the phone who didn't have anyone available to come see the job) and they could have their crew do it in 1 day - completed by Tuesday at the latest. Well, whilst 8 other roofing contractors were responding to my Shout Out to arrange for one of their people to come look at the job (sometime) later this week- NRG Pros got the job looked at, bid at a practical price point and done! I had an emergency problem- They responded to my urgent need - respectfully, with practicality , as something that they could do and immediately fix- as such and they absolutely didn't take undue financial advantage of this senior citizen's vulnerability or lack of industry knowledge-in the situation. Good day people! My neighbor is elderly and her roof was looking so bad, I could almost see daylight through the roof. We have been neighbors for over 25yrs and she is up there in age. She comes to me periodically for advice and help. She brought me a roof estimate and I offered get more. I got to 9 estimates. NRG was not the lowest, but I was impressed by the owners presentation and demeanor. So much so, that I went ahead and replaced my roof at the same time. I probably had 5yrs left on mine, but I figured with inflation and having the cash on hand. Better then, than now. Had I waited, I'd be paying interest on a loan. I dealt with Ron, the owner directly. I had them replace my roof and install solar panels. They were honest (more on this later), price competitive, and responsive. In 2021, I had a 32 year old wood shingle roof (about 3000sq) ft that took one whole week to remove because there were so many staples and the wood was so old they continually broke off. The house looked like a war zone. I had them replaced with 50-yr shingles. Ron didn't lie and mentioned that the year thing is a marketing term but should last 30-yrs. He upgraded me to the high reflective style (Corning) at no cost since I planned to get solar panels, even if I didn't go with him for solar. His roofing quote was about 3rd lowest but close to the lower two quotes from family businesses (I got 8 quotes). He even included leaf cover gutter install at no cost I just provide the materials. A week after the roof was replaced the first heavy rain season came without any issues. In NOV 2022 I shopped for solar panels and got 10 quotes. NEG-PROS gave a no haggle price that was competitive but about middle of the quotes. Ron quoted 360W duo blacks with Enphase microinverters (which is what I wanted compared to my Tesla solar from previous house which had terrible customer service). I just bought the house so was very impressed that they work with credit unions to finance at shockingly low 3% for 12 years! So with the all in one install and service I went with them for solar as well. Unfortunately supply chain issues delayed the panels. By that time the 360W was discontinued and they now had 400W (~8kW system) which was more efficient but more expensive. Ron honored the original quote! As it turn out the solar install is through a partnership with a solar install company but I dealt directly with Ron. My electric bill in 2021 was about $200 during the winter (I'm guessing in the summer it would've been about $350+ with two AC units). My solar financing is $215/month. My summer electric bill was a credit of up to $10 during the summer so far. So I am already net benefiting before the solar is even paid off!!! A year later I went on to roof to blow off the leaves before the first rain of the season and noticed a small damaged roof shingle (probably from the solar work). The storm this week is impacting so many homes and businesses this week but Ron and the team at NRG pros called me before they even opened for business to prioritize my roof leak for same day evaluation.
