Powers Roof Service came out to inspect my roof and the tech found slipped and broken tiles and he subsequently made emergency repairs. Meanwhile, I checked with the builder as the home is just gone eight years in age and found that the roof is still under warranty and so they made permanent repairs under the terms of the warranty. I asked Powers Roof Service for an invoice for the emergency repairs and the owner contacted me directly and advised that there would be no charge. In fact, he was glad to hear that the repairs were covered under warranty. I am so very impressed by Powers Roof Service regarding their professionalism, their great business sense, and their good neighbor outlook. Alex and his team came out recently and did a good amount of work on our roof that needed several repairs and areas cleaned out. Their website states they offer an emergency service they can do immediately, but .... I called on a Tuesday morning in October, and they could not come out to look at it until two weeks later. I made a tentative appointment and asked Della (the client coordinator) if she could refer me to someone who might be able to get the work done sooner. Within an hour, she sent me a list of 3 other roofers to try. I didn't get the chance to call any of them, as by then I'd found someone who said they could come in a few days. It's hard to give a star rating when I haven't actually used their service. But they did everything they could to help, other than come immediately, so I at least wanted to post this review for others to know they seem helpful, professional, and considerate. read more

We had several roofing contractors come to bid our work (since we had a leak in the ceiling). We got a handful of recommendations from our neighbors. Powers provided the best price and their service in the end, provided us tremendous satisfaction that we chose them. They cleaned our valleys under our tile roof. (Never did I know this needs to be checked every 5+ years.) Our two roof leaks (one, fortunately in our garage, the other at the rear of home where it didn't cause a problem inside the home). These leaks were caused by a build up of leaves under the tile, in most of our valleys. And because the valleys were clogged with leaves, the water diverted off the metal flashing valleys, onto the papered roof (where it'll easily leaked). Fortunately, only two areas caused any damage. Very professional from start to finish and you cannot go wrong with them! We had a leak the last time it rained and they came out quickly (I think it was just two days after the rain). During this visit they performed a temporary repair in case it rained again. They also took pictures of all the areas in need of attention - not just the problem area with the leak. The estimate was thorough and prioritized by must do's and things to consider in the future. When the full crew came out for the repair, we revisited the estimate and confirmed understanding on the work to be done - I liked this, very transparent and upfront. A crew of four worked for about 4.5 hours and at the end, you'd never have known they were there - they cleaned up spotlessly. During the work, they uncovered one additional area of the roof that needed attention and showed me pics to get approval for a very small additional cost. This was an area that wasn't visible until they had removed additional tiles. Once everything was done (and I'll note that they even painted a few areas where they replaced dry rot) they reviewed before, during, and after photos of all the work that had been done. Very clean and well executed. Final verdict: they were within $200 of the original estimate, even after uncovering additional issues. Not only will I recommend Powers Roof Service LLC to neighbors and friends in the area, I already have! My neighbor, who observed my work being done, will be calling them as soon as his remodel project is finished. Background: I'd been using the same statewide roofing company recommended by a realtor when we bought our home over 12 years ago. Long story short, we continued to have them do inspections at regular intervals (3 more) which only resulted in recommendations to fix cracked tiles with "ten-year" adhesive. Never did they report debris left from original construction nor other matters that were leading to an inevitable leak that occurred this past November, so we did what we should have done originally - read their customer reviews. Wow. Once alerted to their reputation, we lost all confidence in their services. Instead, we did a deep dive of other roofing companies - licensed? insured? BBB info? customer reviews? Choosing Powers Roof Service LLC to conduct a comprehensive inspection was an easy first step. Ryan took many photos and took the time to explain them in relation to recommendations. I elected to have him do the temporary repair of the leak that very same day knowing it would be guaranteed for one year AND the cost would be applied to the necessary permanent repairs, assuming those were scheduled within a reasonable period. Ryan broke the estimate down into three categories: Priority items and their associated costs, Secondary items with those costs, and a third lesser time-sensitive recommendation with its price. All of which seemed reasonable. I elected to have all the work done at once. And, every step that followed was as easy as the first. They worked our job into their schedule - a bit of a wait (because they are in high demand and winter weather did have its effects, but the temporary repair held nicely). The crew - a team lead and three others - showed up as scheduled, were all very pleasant, answered the few remaining questions I had, and got straight to work. Brandon, the co-owner of the company, stopped by midday to check in. All went extremely well. They finished in a timely manner and left the job site as clean as they'd found it. A few years ago I used Powers Roof Service for an inspection on my roof and to mitigate a few issues I wanted resolved and they came out and did a great job. Last week I hired them to remove my passive solar pool heater which spanned both roof level and again do an assessment of my roofs condition. Powers kept me in the loop with a few modifications due to the rain but on the day they arrived Allex and Sterling introduced themselves and we chatted and they went right to work. Afterwards Galen showed up and we talked again about the project. Because my passive solar system was installed some 15+ years ago it was very brittle and the guys took utmost care in ensuring the loose and brittle pieces that fragmented during disassembly of the panels were captured out of the yard and discarded in their bin. Initially I tried using my home warranty company to recommend a roofer, and the first company they sent out couldn't explain to me in any level of detail what the issue was and left me with a repair cost estimate without any break down of time and materials. I called around to another roof company, and they told me that if I took the "cash in lieu of repair" buyout, they would take that cash and beat the first company's quote, so I'd overall be less cash out of pocket. They didn't even want to do their own inspection, just wanted a copy of the first roofer's report. Needless to say, this didn't inspire confidence. Enter Powers Roof Service... they came out to perform an inspection on time, took their time, and then walked me through their findings. These included the immediate need (the leak), and a line by line write up of other items, categorized by urgency, e.g. needs attention right now, short term or longer term. Fixing a roof can be expensive, and seeing the level of detail/price breakdown helped me understand where all the money would be going. When it came time to perform the reviews, the crew was courteous, communicative and didn't leave a single trace behind that they'd ever been there. My job was perhaps a little more complex than others as it required uninstalling and reinstalling a number of solar panels that were in the way of some of the repairs. We moved to Roseville two years ago, and had two roofing companies come out to give us an estimate on repairs needed that our inspector had found. The first one gave us a pricey lump sum with very little detail on what was included, and the second gave us a low price, but missed too many areas that we knew needed work. Since the roof wasn't leaking, combined with the fact that nearly every appliance or system (plus most of the windows) we had needed replacement, we ended up procrastinating on the roof until recently. We called Powers and another highly rated company to come out for a look in the early fall. We were impressed with the other company until we got their estimate, which left out about half of what we'd gone over on the day of their inspection. My husband and I had both worked in construction for much of our careers, and we felt that we were given a lowball estimate so they'd get the job, while being set up for change orders once the work started. Next, Ryan from Powers Roof Service came out to have a look. He spent a lot of time going over the roof, and more time completing a job estimate onsite right after. Their pricing wasn't cheap, but we both saw right away that Ryan had done a much more thorough job of covering all of the damage that was concerning than any of the other contractors we'd contacted. He also showed us some work we could do ourselves, such as caulking one of the fascia boards instead of having them replace it, that saved us a couple grand. It was the first estimate we were comfortable with, so they scheduled us for two days in December. One of the owners, Galen, kept in constant contact with us as our date approached, to make sure everything was lined up for the job, and was even able to schedule us earlier for Day One. The other owner, Brandon, was foreman on that day, and he was great. I never saw the crew stop for a break. They all worked hard, they were perfectionists, and they were very proud of their work. I have worked with very few construction crews that were that conscientious, and I've worked with a lot of them. Rico was the foreman on the second day, and we got the same level of service. And before I forget, all of the Powers employees were super polite and very professional. At the end of both days, they completely cleaned up the jobsite. At the end of the second day, Rico went over the work they'd done, including showing us photos of both work in progress and the completed areas, which were later forwarded to us. Ryan had estimated that we needed about 11 new tiles, but Rico said they ended up having to replace 30 in total, which the company did not charge us for. I thought that was very thoughtful. Bottom line, we would not hesitate to use them again, or to recommend them to anyone needing repairs on a tile roof (a category most of our neighbors fit into, so maybe I'll see them again!). read more

Having a home with a tile roof pushing 30 years old, problems are going to come up. These guys have been my go to roof repair company for years now. There are thorough, do great work and give knowledge based expert advice. A few years back I had a leak that they repaired and while doing so Powers advised i should move the gutter down spouts that drained from the top roof to my lower level roof citing the likelihood of a future leak. Well, it took a few years but they were right. They have since done the repairs and I had the down spouts moved.
