I came here with high expectations having heard from a friend how fabulous it was. We were sorely disappointed. The restaurant was extremely noisy. We waited 20minutes to place our drink order, another 20 minutes get our drinks, another 25 minutes to place our dinner order and a good 45 minutes for dinner. Water glasses went empty. All of the food was very salty. The calamari was otherwise the highlight of our meals. The lobster risotto tasted only of garlic and if there was any lobster or lobster broth even, it was completely obscured by the garlic. It should have been called garlic risotto. (Two of us had this and we're both disappointed). The ribeye was properly done medium rare but again was so salty it was barely edible. I brought it home to rinse and perhaps make it edible. Others at our table had the grilled seafood platter, described as excellent, shrimp tempura sushi-very good, lobster Cobb salad-good, and crab cakes-good. I came here this past weekend for an anniversary dinner and it was just as special as I hoped. The restaurant itself is beautiful and has a very romantic atmosphere. My boyfriend had the Ahi Tuna and he was blown away! Hands down one of the best meals he's had! Dirk, our waiter, was so wonderful! He was attentive without hovering, and sold us specials without pushing it down our throats. He was also very understanding when we sent back a dish. Overall, he made our dinner perfect. We decided to try Devon's while staying a night in Hershey. We started off with the shrimp tempura sushi roll and it was delicious! My fiancé and I both had surf and turf. Both of our steaks weren't cooked correctly initially. However, they quickly fixed each of them, even brining me a new one. We each had a scoop of sorbet to top off our meal. Nothing special. Met here for dinner with friends last evening. Cocktails were good, reasonable appetizer selections. Spicy cauliflower was good, but consisted of fried breaded cauliflower tossed in a spiced sauce which I thought was heavy. Crab cakes were loose and relatively tasteless. Lobster risotto and lobster Mac and cheese were bland and without any discernible lobster. In the end, I thought the meal was overpriced and underwhelming. We had cocktails that were supposed to be made with simple syrup. They were very sugary and had little alcohol. We both woke up the next day with headaches, and suspect they used cheap, rail vodka. The food was so bad. We had a cauliflower appetizer. It was the best part of the meal. We ate the whole appetizer. I asked our waitress if the crab cake was good. She said it was excellent, and had 98% crabmeat. It did! But it was imitation crab! It was disgusting! Very fishy and just nasty. It didn't have any seasonings to drown out the taste. I got creamed corn with it. Also disgusting. I also got lobster mac. It was bland and dry, but I was able to eat the noodles. My friend had the tuna. The tuna was okay. She was able to eat it, but it had no seasoning. I had such a bad taste in my mouth I got up to get a mint. It was an expensive meal, and it truly sucked. Our server was very busy but did her best. Was anxiously looking forward to the biscuits... and what a disappointment. The once flaky, fluffy delights turned out to be an overly grilled cheesy, gummy, SALTY lump. Ok, lets move on. My husband's scallops weren't as round as a nickel and to say the least we went home hungry. What's up chef? Found out yesterday that a co-worker of mine visited on 11 November 2022. She and her husband had the same experience with the blackened seafood sampler. The server became a bit defensive and questioned her on why she didn't want to take the leftovers home. Serendipity. We planned to go to a chain restaurant next door but an hour wait and a crowded wait area allowed us to come across Devons. Lucky for us! Fantastic service made us feel at home and welcomed from the start and got even better throughout the meal. As for the food - not a morsel left behind. Known for their seafood - the crab cakes were excellent scallops just right and the lobster Mac and cheese delicious! Nicely seasoned and perfectly cooked petit filet and the chicken entree moist and tender. As for the kids meals - an absolute bargain with very generous meal and dessert portions. Coffee and dessert for the adults very good. I tend to be generous with my stars at times so I polled the other seven guests and all four children and three adults gave a unanimous five stars. Devon has the best happy hour offerings in this area. BF and I arrived Sunday to partake but were advised their Sunday HH times changed from 1p-3p to 4.30p-6:30p. No worries! Dustin (who easily is the BEST server) assured us we would be taken care of. Manager Todd stopped by our table to find out which website didn't have the new time posted... and reassured us we would be taken care of. And without a doubt we were. Our appetizers were promptly served...glasses filled..their 'buck a shuck' oysters were superb and the steamed lobsters were fantastic. Went here for my gf's birthday. Very friendly staff. Place is very cool. Open room with smaller side rooms. Food was amazing. My steak was perfect. We split a few side dishes. This is a nice place with a pleasant atmosphere. The food and service was good. I would have to give this place a 4 star mainly for the portion size of what they charge here. You just get an average portion size for a higher cost. We had New Zealand Salmon and Seared Halibut Cheeks with Zucchini, Corn & Tomato Ragout, Parmesan Roasted Yukon Gold Potatoes as the sides.I would definitely recommend this place. Devon is probably one of the best restaurants in Hershey, and it is priced accordingly. That being said, the entrees do all include two sides, which makes it more reasonable than many steakhouses. The food was very good, the service was attentive, and when my filet was overcooked, they promptly brought another one and apologized. They have a great patio and were willing to accommodate our group of 4 adults and 4 kids by putting us right next to each other. The mesquite smoke chicken sandwich I had came out hot and juicy. I'm very big on smoke meats and this is the first restaurant establishment that who stated smoked chicken really had the mesquite smoked smell and taste. Great food! I love the Devon Seafood in Philly but I found myself in Hershey for two nights on business. My colleagues and I ate at Devon Seafood & Steak both nights. Very few restaurants have west coast oysters but they do. I also had their "buck a' shuck" for happy hour. For my entrée I had the Seafood Mixed Grill which is shrimp, scallop, salmon and jumbo lump crab cake. It was excellent. The only negative was that they didn't have New England Clam Chowder. read more

I really wish this was a better experience. We came here as we were on vacation and wanted a delicious dinner. Between the menu options and reviews online, we assumed this was a great choice. The waiting time was as expected. Especially since we didn't have a reservation. We were offered a high top prior to our wait and said it was fine. After waiting a decent amount of time we were told the high top was being cleaned but it was a large table and that we would be sitting on one end. I questioned the hostess and she clarified another party would sit on the other. We opted to wait longer for a separate, private table. Why were we not told this initially? At the end of the night our bill was $170 dollars. Personally, I wouldn't want to spend that kind of money to share a table with strangers. And, I'm glad I didn't. The scallops were delicious. The filet Mignon was a nice size and looked appealing. Although it was cooked to our liking, it lacked in actual flavor. Salt belongs on steak. And, it should be cooked with it. I asked for asparagus but received mashed potatoes instead. The mashed potatoes were a bit on the runny side. The lobster Mac and cheese was great and was better than expected. Our waitress was not attentive. At all. I tried to get her attention as my boyfriend wanted another drink. She didn't seem to hear me. From a foot away. I walked up to the bar to personally order it, as he became annoyed. The bartender seemed confused but made us one and brought it over right away. When our waitress came over to offer him another drink, she never brought it. We waited. And waited. He had to remind her he never got it. Not sure if it was sitting at the empty bar or she forgot to put it in. My boyfriend questioned why I didn't want a second cocktail. I told him I didn't want to wait 20 minutes for it. I've dined at many high end restaurants. A lot of these places seat you according to how you dress or if your outfit looks over 300 dollars. I'm assuming that goes for consistency in service here too. Disappointing. We felt ignored. And, our meal seemed dragged out. I wouldn't personally bother coming back here. read more

Our server was very friendly and accommodating. One of the lunch party has shell fish allergies, she was able to advise him on menu items that would not flare up an attack. We started with the calamari (free w/Yelp checkin). It was lightly flash fried. Served w/fried carrot sticks and fresh fried jalapeños. Served w/2 sauces. So good! I had Tuna Nicoise Salad. Yummy dressing! My wife had the Angus burger. I had the leftover half the next day. Still an awesome burger! My son had the seafood mixed grill and said it was all well cooked. We got sat early and almost filled up on the Cheddar biscuits as they were amazing. My wife had the seafood mixed grill which was great. The salmon was done perfectly. I had the 6oz filet medium rare. It came out very rare and lacked flavor. The sides saved the meal as the asparagus and tomato ragout and the lobster mac and cheese tasted delicious. I visited Devon on Valentine's Day around 2:30P.M. We were celebrating my wedding and we planned our reservation well in advance. We were told when we made the reservation that we would need to be out by 5 to accommodate the other parties that had reservations for the holiday. Our waitress Karen H, seemed as though she was very agitated and flustered from the moment we sat down. We were sitting for over an hour before we were able to place our food orders in because she would disappear for 15-25 mins in between our drink orders. She was very rude to my grandmother who wanted to replace a ginger ale that was flat and explained that her ginger ale wasn't flat, it was a "natural, bottled kind" that my grandmother "was not used to". 7 out of 10 plates of our table's food were ice cold and when my mother in law's steak was sent back to be reheated it came back completely black on one side. Our waitress's response was "Well they have to put it on the grill to heat it up." She also completely botched the tip for the bill by taking the cash for herself which wasn't what we explained to her, ultimately she was left with less of a tip by doing this. Not to mention, we didn't leave the restaurant until 6:15 because of all the errors with our food! As someone that worked in the restaurant industry, I expect a higher quality of dining experience than what I received at Devon. I rarely write reviews complaining about service but this experience was shocking and disheartening. The only positive takeaway I have from Devon were the decor, hosts and the drinks. There are many restaurants in the area that were happy to take our business and treat us with respect! I am so beyond disappointed in this establishment. read more

Amazing restaurant! We come here every time we're in Hershey. We leave the park at Zoo America and walk over the hill to the restaurant for dinner. Never disappointed. Great fresh seafood, terrific steaks, and tasty sides. Had the wagyu ribeye tonight -- amazingly tender and juicy. Gumbo was terrific. My wife asked for a taste and ended up eating the entire bowl. I've usually had good meals and experiences here before but after this experience I won't go back. I brought my friend here for her birthday. I had reserved the table earlier in the week and requested a booth. When we arrived we were taken to a table in one of the separate rooms. I explained I had requested a booth and we were then seated in a both by the kitchen entrance. Next we had the calamari for an appetizer and it was just awful. There were way too many fried carrots than calamari. When we asked the waitress for tonight's specials we were told there weren't any. Finally to top everything off I ordered a 6oz filet medium well. It came out the first time completely rare. I sent it back. The second time if came out (about 5 minutes later) it was still rare. So I had to send it back again. Never in my life have I EVER had to send a meal back twice. So after 15 minutes (and by this time my friend had finished her meal and I had eaten my side dishes) my filet came out well done. There was no pink. There was no offer to make this right. I was so upset. I will not go back to Devon. It was a $90 dollar meal (not including tip) that was not worth it. read more
