[[HIGHLIGHT]]Beautiful interior. There is a little lab set up at the front and it is aesthetically beautiful[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. The pastries are out of this world and the coffee is a solid 2/5. The coffee was a little dirt tasting for my liking. 4/5 stars for the beautiful interior and kind staff. Also, no cozy's for small size drinks. Cappuccino can't be ordered in a larger size. Please get smaller cozies.
My parents and I were aimlessly wandering on the Williamsburg riverwalk, appreciating the New York City skyline like you only can when you have a visitor in town. Sometimes I need a reminder that I have spent my mid 20s in the most electric city in the world. As we were taking it all in, I saw at least 4 different people walking by with Devocion coffee cups and made a mental note that I need to try that place. So 5 minutes later when my Mom suggested we should stop for a coffee, I was locked and loaded with a suggestion. We made the short walk to Devocion and entered what looked like a former industrial building that had been converted to a coffee shop. We walked down the elongated hallway and entered a space that felt like a movie set in the best way possible: A wall full of living plants slowly climbing onto the ceiling, 2 inviting worn in couches in the center, rustic tables and chairs scattered around the space, vintage light fixtures, and natural light FLOODING in from a huge skylight overhead. Whoever designed this deserves some kind of award. I felt the spiritual connection of being outside while having the comfort of being inside, and that's exactly what I'm looking for while being in a coffee shop. My coffee was great, but I always just get an iced americano so it's rare I dislike a coffee if we are being honest. My parents got their little boujee oatmilk vanilla lattes and were raving about them. As we were getting set to leave, it started dumping rain so we sat in here for an extra 20 minutes until it passed. Watching rain violently pour down on a big skylight is a spiritual experience. Williamsburg is also a great place to people watch. Gotta love the eclectic patrons of the Burg. I'll be back in here to post up and crank out some reviews one of these days. IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov__
Great coffee, nice atmosphere & welcoming staff, what more can you ask for? There's a ton of seating options both indoors & outdoors so you'll find people working during the week. I had a butter croissant and an iced latte. The butter croissant was warm & buttery and the coffee was strong and not watered down.
[[HIGHLIGHT]]Love the ambiance here![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered the cascara drink after the barista offered to let me taste it (which I greatly appreciated) and this thing is DELICIOUS. It's a cold pressed drink made from the coffee cherry fruit, not the bean. It's naturally sweet (no added sugars) and so so refreshing. Tastes like drinking a cold cherry soda! I would highly recommend this. It still has caffeine but it's less acidic and less caffeinated than coffee. A great option for a hot summer day.
I came by for an afternoon coffee and opted to try the sparkling cascara which is similar to a sparkling ice coffee but with cascara (a coffee cherry tea made from the dried skin of the coffee plant). There is a unique almost medicinal taste to the cascara which I really enjoy. Definitely something unique to Devocion to try!
I'm surprised this place isnt closer to a 5! Yes, the line is long, but the coffee is so dang good that its always worth it. We had a double chocolate cookie and it was AMAZING. Miss their OG chocolate chip cookies. The inside is hard to find a seat but if you do, you're lucky bc its absolutely beautiful ambiance inside. Highly recommend this place if nearby. This place has an ambience of its own. Vibrant with natural lighting, a wall of greenery, and restoration-hardware-style vintage furniture, there is just so much space to sit back and feel hip in. The couches are lovingly scuffled and upholstered with brass buttons and brown leather. The coffee itself is beautiful, as I expected. I've heard about this place through word of mouth -- locals and non-locals alike -- and it wasn't disappointing. The latte (which I got plain) was smooth without a hint of undue sourness or bitterness. Milk was frothed nicely and to a lovely temperature. Baristas are very nice and service is fast. I saw a lot of dates and creatives and designers hanging out here. Easy place to chill for hours I suppose, if I lived in the area. Love the location as well -- a nice part of Williamsburg, with lots to do in the surroundings (and of course lots of competing cafes nearby). But this one holds its own, and more. read more

Love the space and the food! The croissants are amazing, particularly the guava cheese. They're so soft, fresh, and buttery. We also got the parmesan leek pastry which was nice as well. Loved the apple, strawberry aromatic tea, the actual dried fruit in it were a nice touch! A friend introduced us to this place so we were excited to come back and try more things! read more

I just moved to Brooklyn and was in need of a coffee shop to work a bit on the weekends. Devocion will be my new Sunday spot, with both the best coffee and the best ambiance for working. It is not too loud inside and everyone is extremely friendly. The only downside is that there is no Wi-Fi, so you will need to have a personal hotspot if you're going to be working. read more

This is a cool coffee shop to visit if you need to branch out from your local Starbucks. Pricing is pretty standard and the menu is a little bit more limited, but the coffee is strong and fresh. When I walked in with my friend, the line was almost to the door and we almost walked out immediately. However, we didn't, and I'm glad we didn't because the line ended up moving fairly quickly considering there was only one employee ringing orders. My only complaint is that there was a lack of seating. I was not the only person hovering and waiting for someone to leave so I could rush over and stake my claim. It's nice to see that the environment is welcoming enough that people feel inclined to sit for awhile and enjoy their coffee, but frustrating that your experience has to start off with a fight for chairs. read more
This is probably one of the most famous cafe in Williamsburg. The interior is so beautiful. Decorated with plants, natural lights and coffee roasting machine. They roast their beans here. Sometimes you can see that in an action. Coffee is so great! Very fresh, deep, thick and bit bitter and acidic. 5/5 read more
I came here on a Thursday morning (~9am) and it was a little busy but not too many people were sitting at the tables. By the time it was 11am-12pm, it started getting busy and I think all of the indoor seating filled up. So if you want to stop by to work or meet up with someone, I would recommend coming here before lunch rush or later afternoon after 1-2pm! There were a lot of people doing work at the cafe when I was there (myself included) so turnover might be slow! As for the food and drink itself, I got an iced americano and a guava+cheese croissant! The americano was solid! Some coffee shops' americanos taste extra watery but the espresso flavor was strong in Devocion's. The guava and cheese croissant was delicious! It was super flaky and buttery. There was a guava jam inside that was tart but worked well with the butteriness of the croissant. Finally, I'd like to mention how beautiful this place is! There is a wall entirely filled with plants and there's a skylight so a lot of natural light comes in :) if I lived in the area, I would come here more often ;_; read more

A great spot to study or work from in Brooklyn! There's tons of space to spread out and work and it's a great work getaway during COVID times. Latte is also excellent, definitely gave me lots of energy. read more

Cute place. Wonderful service. Excellent coffee. Since getting pregnant and living in my third trimester, I have been obsessed with finding decaf coffee in local BK shops. I have to say that this decaf iced latte was the best one I've had thus far! I didn't need to put any sugar in it because their almond milk is sweetened. I'm not big on dumping sugar into my coffee like that so that was great! Nothing extra added. I forgot the cashier's name but she was very helpful in helping me decide between ordering banana bread or their chocolate croissant. I chose the croissant. It was amazing and just what I needed after a long day. Long story short: Williamsburg is filled with coffee shops and I've tried 3 so far. This is the first one that I'd definitely come back to whenever I find myself there again. Highly recommend to all coffee lovers. read more

This a nice spot to catch up with friends or get some emails sent off. It's the block right before Domino park but it's usually hard to find a seat during the week. If you're driving, be prepared to circle the surrounding blocks for awhile before you score a spot. They have their coffee beans flown in daily from Columbia (I believe I read this) and roasted on premise. The vibe is very BK and chill. There are a bunch of sun lit windows overhead and in the summer, it can be a bit brutal if you're sitting in the back (even with the giant umbrellas over you). They have 2 bathrooms in the back and don't seem to mind if you're running in to use the WC quickly and while not spotless, they're never out of soap or the necessary paper products. The coffee and baked goods selection is pretty good and appropriately priced. Just 2 things irk me: 1: I once asked for an iced latte with light ice and the barista told me she could only fill it to a certain line and (since I wanted less ice) offered to add more milk (said she couldn't add anything else). WHY can't you just top it off a little more with coffee? The milk costs more! And why would I want a latte to have even MORE milk? 2: when I go to pay, out of habit, I say credit...without fail, the barista always needs to chirp in that "we only take credit...we're cashless here". IDK why but it's just so extra. :/ read more
This is a great coffee shop for studying. A lot of seating is available. The espresso is strong. The granola bars are awesome, too! Only downsides are slow Internet (a lot of people are on it) and not many power outlets being available, but the coffee shop makes up for those minor flaws. read more
Devocion certainly left a deep impression on me. The beautiful, industrially designed exterior welcomes you into an oasis with plenty of sunlight, comfy couches, high ceilings, and indoor plants. As you walk in, you can also watch them roast coffee which I thought was pretty cool. You're required to take your temperature and write down your contact information for contact tracing purposes, and there's hand sanitizer available too. I got a regular drip coffee ($3), and it tasted very smooth. It was neither burnt nor too acidic. To top it off, my barista was extremely friendly and when I asked for just a bit of milk, he was so accomodating and put in the perfect amount. We sparked a conversation and the barista was seriously the sweetest person I've ever met. TLDR: Outstanding service, beautiful decor, and great coffee. What more can one ask for? read more

The natural light in this place is just what you need to enjoy your coffee! Speaking of coffee, I tried the cold brew with a dash of cream. I'm not a fan of super strong coffee, and the cold brew on tap was strong but it wasn't overwhelming. I enjoyed it very much! I also had the guava and cheese croissant (look at those vibrant red stripes). It was gooooood! I highly recommend you try it. It has a hint of sweetness, and is perfectly flakey. The baristas were very friendly and welcoming too! Go check this place out, y'all! read more

Some delicious coffee and i loved the ambiance here. It's very causal with tables and some couches and had a lot of natural lighting coming in. Would definitely be back for more if I lived near the area. Not sure if they had wifi but did see a couple people with laptops propped open. read more
Big, airy space with upbeat chill world music on a late Friday in the dead of winter. It's perfect. Service and vibes were relaxed, my barista was very warm and friendly. Coffee is delicious. I don't know enough about coffee to be an authority, but I thought the flavor was more complex than your average coffee shop. Despite the big space they don't crowd it with as many seats as possible, which I think helps keep the atmosphere so chill. Maybe 40 people max can sit at once, so chances of getting one may be slim. No wifi on weekends, again, keeping the vibe from becoming a workspace. read more

In terms of coffee & pastries available, this is a standard nice cafe that you can work in with free wifi on weekdays. My two star review is due to the attitude in customer service, as I also work in the service industry and felt quite disappointed. I noticed I was one of two black women in the space this morning on Friday, March 25th and whoever the three women working the bar were, two of them were VERY rude. When I ordered, I asked questions because it was my first time here and the tall woman with blue top barely gave me a response- yet she cheerfully serviced other white customers. This was the same of the other lady when I accidentally spilled my water and asked for paper towels I saw behind the counter to clean it up- she told me I could get napkins from the side where you get sugar and other condiments. I let her know those napkins were very small and I'd like the paper towels so I could clean up the water on the floor... she literally ignored me for 5mins and I said "I'm not trying to annoy you I just don't want to leave the mess there, should I just wait for someone else to do it?" She goes "I don't have larger napkins just wait for someone to mop it." Like what is the attitude for? Of course bringing race into things always upsets people but it's brought in because when you walk into predominantly white establishments and are treated with a noticeable difference without doing any harm- WHAT ELSE is the reason for this treatment? It's just sad and disappointing. Won't be coming here again, overpriced and unfriendly service with no change for my cash either and no heads up on that as well. Update- I read other reviews and also asked a frequent customer about the service here and it doesn't seem to be a race thing; they're just RUDE in general unless they happen to like you or be on a good day I guess. read more

You know what's interesting about hipster coffee shops? I've noticed that very few people use that term in a negative way. Devocion is a great example of why that's the case. If the vibey high ceilings, overgrown indoor plants, and artsy coffee-making equipment on display don't make you feel some type of way, don't worry. The rich and consistent coffee this Williamsburg gem puts out for its customers is worth the five stars alone. Even the pastries are bomb. I usually go for a latte with oat milk and I've tried the pour over at times when my bougie coffee connoisseur persona is out and about. Both are excellent and never taste burnt. Do yourself a favor and add this to your "Hip-Day-In-Brooklyn" itinerary - you won't regret it! read more

Devoción is the epitome of what a great coffee shop should be. This Brooklyn location is spacious, well-lit, and sheer perfection in its delivery of well-made coffee to its customers. During my brief stay in Brooklyn, I visited this location at least 3 times with a temptation to move right in. What I Got: Iced Oat Milk Latte and Red Barrel Pour-Over Coffee Worth Your Money? Yes!! Red Barrel is a signature, small batch blend. It's initially fruity, but quickly dissipates into an acidic aftertaste. I came on a Wednesday at 3pm. Coffee was good. Little to no wait for coffee. But it was so crowded and difficult to find a seat? If you're looking for a place to study or hang, I personally wouldn't waste my time going here where you'll probably have to wait for a seat and don't even know which seat you'll be getting. Unless you come during hours when you know significantly less people will be there. There's plenty of other places with good coffee + a nice ambiance + place to study with outlets. The interior is a cool + industrial looking place with nice sky light but I personally prob won't come back unless it's a grab and go situation. Breaks the NYC law § 20-840 Cashless establishments prohibited. Tried to tell me via email that they take cash via debit card. Dafuq what kind of idiot do you think I am? Also coffee isn't that great. Let staff know and they were rude to me. Manager thinks he's above the law. read more
I got a macchiato with whole milk ($4). It was the perfect amount of acidity! I personally like my coffee sweet and this was a perfect mix! It was the perfect size but also I love a 12 oz cup of coffee haha Sadly they dont have any flavored flavoring but they have simple syrup on the side which I added and it was the perfect touch. There was a quite a wait around 12pm. But it was just because it was a prime time to buy coffee. They have a beautiful glassroof so natural sunglight shines through the top. There is also seating around the cafer area. Besides coffee they also sell danishs, muffins and cookies. read more
Devocion lives up to the beautiful setting in the interior & with some great coffee! In the middle of the workday, it is quite packed, so I'd expect to wait a bit to find a seat. The americano I ordered was delicious (as someone trying to experiment more with getting into coffee) & the space feels much more like a coworking environment rather than a normal coffeeshop. You pass by the coffee barrels in the back to see how the process is done. I'll be back surely. read more

This is definitely the best location of Devocion. I had a vegetable scone (great) and a cold brew (amazing). Sadly there's the usual amount of hipster types on laptops hogging the seating, but I waited a bit and eventually snagged a table. read more
Glory hallelujah these lattes.... I wanted to have multiple in one day just because they're so delicious. No pricier than Starbucks but way way way better. The locations are gorgeous and very popular for working inside of. read more

Are they providing a wifi?
Yes they provide WiFi but ONLY ON WEEKDAYS. There is no WiFi for customers on weekends
Do you have travel boxes (for company events) if so what size and at what price?
Wifi/working allowed on weekends?
No. Only one the weekdays probably bc too many laptop users take up seating. It is already pretty bad on the weekdays. I sit there with my laptop but l limit myself a certain amount of time as to not be selfish. Hope this helps!
