Unfortunately I forgot a belonging of mine in the shop . To my surprise it was stolen by a fellow customer . I'm saddened and will not be returning for tea . I can't believe a Devoción customer or worker didn't return my costume . This was a loss I tried to call there number for help and had to leave a voicemail . Great lattes and amazing pastries! My go-to order is an iced oat milk latte and the dulce de leche kougn amann. The kougn amanns get sold out super fast, so you have to get lucky or come really early (like 10am or before). If you want to stay for them to bake a new batch, just note it will take 30-40 minutes. I almost missed my flight today waiting for one because they said the next batch was coming at 11 but I ended up waiting til 11:40, but it was worth it to get a fresh batch. If you miss out the kougn amann, my second favorite pastry from there is the parmesan and leek croissant. The cafe itself is a great place to do some work or catch up with a friend. There's a good amount of seating, but it always fills up really fast so every time I've gone I've had to wait around for a bit for a seat to open up. Also note that there isn't any wifi on the weekends, I guess to discourage people from working on the weekends which is pretty cool. read more

Great coffee shop! It's hard to find a cafe in the city that checks off all the boxes: -space -vibe/decor -coffee -playlist -WiFi This location hits all the spots! I came here to meet a friend early morning before work on Friday. Got a pour over and a croissant. Both were delicious! WiFi was fast so I was actually able to stay for another hour or so to get some work done. The decor is great - love the high ceiling and all the greenery. Playlist is good too - not distracting. Recommend for meet ups with friends, to read, get some work done etc. I don't recommend staying for too long to be courteous Bc it starts getting busy and there are people looking around for seats by 11am :) read more

Beautiful cafes with plenty of seats, but those seats are almost always occupied. It's quiet in the morning but got pretty loud at noon. Most people here have their laptops with them to study. I had a Toro drip coffee and a plain croissant as usual. The coffee was good, so was the croissant. The croissant was very buttery, soft and not flaky like the ones I usually had. It had a shelled shape like Starbucks', which made me think it's gonna be stale and bad. But no, the buttery smell and taste made up for it! Eating a soft and not crunchy croissant was so comforting on a cold day. HOWEVER, MY EXPERIENCE AT DEVOCION TODAY WAS UNPLEASANT DUE TO THE UNWELCOMED PATRONS HERE. Sitting right next to me was a random dude who brought a Starbucks drink with him to Devocion and just sat there to do work. What is this lack of etiquette?? There weren't too many seats at this Devocion location but somehow random people just went here, not BUYING ANYTHING FOOD OR DRINKS, and decided to freeride on the seats and wifi. UNACCEPTABLE! Moreover, another food delivery guy came to sit at my table, then went to use the bathroom at Devocion WHILE BRINGING HIS FOOD ORDER TO THE BATHROOM WITH HIM. Talking about the sanitary issues of food delivery service lol. Clearly Devocion team should have done something about this. The greenery and lots of sunlight makes it a very relaxing space. don't forget your earphones though. The place gets crowded. It can be difficult to find a space to sit, and for good reason. 5 stars alone for the latte they serve up at this charming Colombian cafe. It was packed on a Saturday morning over the holidays, and plain to see why: the cafe is gorgeous with sprawling greenery inside, ample seating and a spread of very delicious looking pastries and coffee drinks. I'm a Starbucks regular for the nonfat latte, with its smooth and creamy taste, but Devocion blows their latte out of the water. It's the smoothest tasting coffee and espresso I've ever had. On the weekend, they have issues making a dry cappuccino, which is very disappointing. I would go there every day if they were consistent. This cafe is one I'm now marking down as my go-to coffee shop in Brooklyn when I want to get work done and be surrounded by greenery and endless light flooding in from the floor to ceiling windows on two of the walls. The atmosphere is everything here and I'm loving it. And, just as important, the coffee and pastries are great as well. I loved the cold brew and the vegetable scone!! So good. There's a decent amount of seating and an awesome raised platform area in the center with more lounge-y type leather chairs surrounded by plants. Love visiting special coffee shops when I travel and this place sounded awesome. Got beans to go and two drip coffees. They were both so good, the bags of coffee were each $19. Beans roasted within the week. So neat. The inside of the shop had like tons of green plants such a good vibe. Probably my favorite coffee spot for several reasons. When I sit down at a coffee shop for more than 30 minutes I am definitely looking for a place with low to moderate noise and great ambience for concentration. The seats need to be comfortable and there definitely needs to be an outlet and wifi. After visiting many cafes, I either get great work environment and crap coffee or bad work environment and great coffee. Devocion does it right for both of these qualities that I seek. I love studying here in the morning/afternoon since the place has allows for a lot of natural sun-light to illuminate the entire shop and the plants in the middle of the cafe adds to the overall ambience. The center platform has chairs circled around a table for casual socializing, but there are also tables towards the back for when you need time alone to study. After reading more about the company's story, I discovered about the intricate process that reflects in the quality of their coffee. The beans, which are from select farms in untamed areas of Colombia, go through dry milling to remove the parchment. When the parchment is removed, the green bean that remains is shipped to Brooklyn where they roast it. They are the first TRUE farm to cup roasters and the only company that only roasts farm fresh coffee so you know you are paying for the quality! read more

For those with dog allergies, it's worth noting that this coffee shop consistently allow dogs inside despite this being a health code violation, and there are no signs prohibiting dogs from entering. In fact, I haven't had a single visit without seeing dogs inside of this shop. Unfortunately, during my last visit, I had a severe allergic reaction: my throat and chest began to tighten and my eyes became so watery and itchy, that I gave up on enjoying my drink and left :( read more

My go-to neighborhood coffee spot for beans, pour over, and pastries. A slightly luxury given a drip can be $4 on average and latte at $5, but it's proven to be a great space to work (WiFi + outlets) without the normal loud white noise you get from Manhattan cafes. Devocion's Williamsburg location was one of my favorite spaces to go and decompress but it was simply too much of a hassle getting from South to North Brooklyn. I'm glad this spot is now here to give off the same vibe and great coffee! read more

Disclaimer: I am not an avid coffee-drinker so my review might not be of much help to someone with a more sophisticated coffee-bean-tasting-palate lol but.... As someone who usually doesn't like coffee and despises the distasteful after-taste I have to say that the cappuccino is AMAZING! I decided to give it a try and it did not disappoint. I was intrigued by their claim of importing the coffee from Colombia farms and then roasting the beans here in Brooklyn and I've got to say, of all the coffee I've tried in my life this has been the best yet (even better than Starbucks)! There's no yucky after-taste and it definitely tastes very smooth. The inside is gorgeous and very chill, with a nice earthy/green plant jungle in the middle that just gives off those peaceful vibes. I usually find coffee shops a bit anxiety-inducing because of all the work and stressed-out folks (or so they seem) in there, but the ambiance is definitely another here. Pretentious af! One has to stand out somehow, and Devocion accomplishes that with design. They occupy a giant foot print on a corner lot in downtown Brooklyn. The full size glass widows and greenery give it the feeling of a winter garden. Perfect for when you want to be in nature but the weather sucks. Espresso coffee is good, and the have non-dairy milk options for an extra 75 cents (oat and almond). They serve almost no substantial food, just pastries, so that keeps the crowd moving. It's definitely not your lunch cafe. It's a good place to work; there are outlets and free WiFi (except on weekends) and the music is quieter than conversation volume. I think this is going to be one of my staple coffee shops in the downtown Brooklyn area. The decor on the inside is so cool with the trees and wooden rustic type chairs. I came here with one of my friends and we were able to have good conversation in the relaxed atmosphere. Even though most of the seats were taken when I arrived by the time I ordered seats became available. I just had a latte and banana bread. Love the cute yellow cup in came in and the banana bread tasted so good. Saw persons around on their laptops and reading and wifi is available as well. Not sure how good the wifi is as I didnt use it but good to know! Also we didnt take long to get our orders probably in 5 minutes or less and my latte was in my hand. The team and I stopped by this quaint coffee joint on our way to our annual strategic planning. BRAND EXPERIENCE This venue was right on brand when you think of micr-brew, hipster coffee culture. Well lit and balanced with hues of brown and cream, the color scheme created a warm, rustic feeling. CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE We came in with a group of six people and the cashier handled us with ease. He repeated back everyone's order on the first try, turning drinks around in a timely manner. COFFEE & SWEETS The cashier recommended the cappuccino with a wild berry scone to compliment. The cappuccino had the perfect blend of steamed milk to coffee and the berry scone was berry flakey, bursting with sweet, tart and sour tones. Mmmrrrggghh. The sound you make when you really want to like a cafe based on other reviewers' high marks. Here's where Devoción slips, for me: 1) It's not a quiet space, as previously mentioned. Bring noise-cancellation headphones. 2) Seating is too tight for Covid comfort--particularly in the center of the cafe, where chairs are organized in a close circular pattern. 3) For various reasons, I am not a coffee drinker. I like tea. My teabag was tossed into a paper cup (string and all) 3/4 filled with water. Did not request room for cream. Just looked sloppy. Devoción's interior is stellar, and I imagine it's best appreciated during early/non-busy hours while enjoying one of their coffee blends. Nice, clean bathroom is also worth mentioning. read more

Delicious cappuccino. The beans are round, nutty, not too acidic and almost a little chocolatey. They have a little walk-up window so you don't have to go in the store. At first glance, Devocion is beautiful. The cafe has a number of large plants separating different areas and there are ample tables next two giant windows letting light stream in. I went on a Saturday to do some work and found that there was no internet on the weekends which I found to be odd. The cafe had outlets by the tables, however, and you can connect to Link NYC wifi instead which worked perfectly for me. When going to the counter to order I was a bit disappointed by their small selection of coffee drinks. They have a list of "refreshers" which I assume refer to teas but otherwise only have very basic espresso drinks. I ordered an iced latte which was nothing special. I'm torn between whether or not I should go to Devocion to do work again because while I absolutely loved the space the lack of drinks is an issue for me. read more

I am so happy there's a closer location to me now. I no longer have to travel an hour to Williamsburg and wait around for a seat. This location is smaller and has less seating, but people don't stay as long. I was able to get a seat immediately on a Sunday afternoon when it was almost a full house. They also have wifi on weekends, not like the Williamsburg location. I got a latte with oat milk since they don't have mocha. It was smooth and strong, just the way I like it. It was also reasonably priced at $ 4.75 and $0.50 for milk alternative. After sitting for a bit, the smell of croissant was in the air and I couldn't help but to get one. I got a chocolate croissant which was a bit on the smaller side for $3.50 and it didn't have much chocolate inside. Besides that, I would say the croissant was very good; it was very buttery and flaky. I think this place has become my new favorite cafe to go to in this part of Brooklyn. It's has big windows that bring in natural light and the space is really chill. It's the perfect place for me to get work done. New favorite coffee shop in the area! Perfect place to visit for a little escape to Colombia and a caffeine kick. Ambiance - Latin American music and décor. Huge windows with lots of light and colorful tiles. Huge plants also add a nice touch, as greenery is quite lacking around this neighborhood. Coffee - Strong and smooth - absolutely perfect. First order was a latte. Latte art was on point, so get your cameras out and get ready to gram it up. Just a little pricier than other coffee shops in the area, but good thing tax refund season is here. Free Weefee - Can't live without it, so this is another major selling point for me. I could see myself hanging out here for hours to get work done or to catch up with some friends, as there is a sufficient amount of seating and outlets. Tucked away on the corner of Livingston and Bond, Devocion opened its doors to its DoBro residents about a month and a half ago and I absolutely love this place!!! It's as if you've stepped inside Columbia with its yellow-tiled floors, the large, Amazonian plants that live in the center of the café and infectious Latin beats coming in from the speakers.
