The name of this pastry is the Kouign-amann ( pronunciation: Queen Armand) She was like Ma this is it........... it taste so dang on goood I was like yeah right. I tasted a piece from her and I was hooooooooked!!!!!! Every time I went here to get it(Kouign-amann), it was sold out!!!!!!! It is buttery and sweet and delightful!!!!! They have other great delights here but my focus is this particular pastry!!!!! The customer service here is very polite and sweet ....like the pastryThe pastry ( Kouign-Amann) is stuff with caramel my absolute favvvvvvv!!! Usually they are not stuffed, the pastry..... I came here Tuesday mid morning because I was absolutely starving and needed a breakfast pastry and a place to do some work. This is a really cute café that has gorgeous leather furniture, lighting fixtures, and cool plants everywhere, very modern looking. The music they play here is great too. I was a little disappointed to see that their food menu was quite limited, and by that time of day, there was really only one savory option that stood out to me, the Parmesan and leek pastry. I ordered this and had the barista heated up for me, as well as print out a receipt because this is how you access the Wi-Fi. I sat in the corner along the wall on a wooden bench and attempted to do work on one of the small metal tables. The tables are quite low, so this really isn't a great place to get a ton of work done in my opinion, as well as the fact that the Wi-Fi only works for 30 minutes and after that, you need to go back up and get another receipt for a code. I was also a little disappointed in the pastry itself, as it wasn't fully heated and was a little too greasy for me. I can't speak on the coffee here, but it did look like they provide high-quality options. Vibes and aesthetic are high but I can't say I'd come here again. read more

Cute cafe in the area! This neighborhood is tough for coffee shops but I feel like this is one where you could easily get work done at. Big windows and nice lighting and it doesn't get too loud. What a delicious, strong as I love espresso. I like the aesthetics here, like a little coffee time the woods . The plants make it very relaxing and homey . I wasn't hungry at this point so I only got a mid day pick me up. Wasn't crowded when I was there so I decided to sit for a bit. Drinks are surprisingly not high priced for the amazing quality. My espresso was automatically served with seltzer, ahhh true coffee conisours here , my caffeine hungry soul smiled. Staff was pleasant. Next time I'll indulge in a pastry. The interior of this coffee shop is truly insane. There's not a whole lot of seating because most of the shop is taken up by the island of plants in the middle, but even on a busy Saturday it seemed most people were able to find a table or armchair. I've been to the DUMBO location which was less impressive design-wise but still a nice vibe. I've gotten the aromatica both times and really enjoyed it, this time I tried the papaya but will be back for the peach. It's nice to have a fruity tea that doesn't taste so dull like they usually do. The pancito de chocolate was a tad disappointing, maybe because it was later in the day it just felt kind of dense and flavorless. I've heard they're amazing so I'd give it another go, but at this point I'd recommend this spot just to marvel at the ambiance and also possibly grab a famous coffee, which I still have yet to try. read more

Best coffee in Brooklyn! I frequent this location 2-3 times a week and the coffee is to die for. I bring every guest that visits me from out of town. They don't do syrups or trendy lattes. They keep it simple but so simple so so so well. (They offer a honey and simple syrup for you to add on your own if you prefer something on the sweeter side) The baristas here are also very friendly and remember my name! Nice coffee spot close to the G train! I'm glad they have some decaf options as well, including the aromatica series. I got the apple strawberry mint aromatica iced, which was a bit underwhelming at first. It really didn't taste like much until the tea warmed up, and then the apple and strawberry flavors came out stronger. Service was quick. Extra points to this place for its ambience and decor, as there are some cool plants and generally clean and kind of punky decor. My boyfriend and I were looking for a place to have some coffee and do work and Devocion was around the corner from our hotel. I really enjoyed the coffee and pastries. We got one of their new coffee specials which was delicious, it had agave and we both got an iced and hot one. I got the Dulce de leche pastry which I loved! Get it warmed up! My boyfriend got a leek pastry and it was also really good, he got 2! Overall good coffee. Just an oasis in a crowded stretch of downtown Brooklyn. As if Devocion's coffee weren't worth going out of your way for (spoiler alert: it is!), this cafe features an incredibly large, welcoming, utterly delightful indoor space, featuring lush greenery (real or fake, I dunno, but it makes for a charming spot) and a cool little raised platform in the center that feels like a secluded hangout. I'm usually a staunch coffee to-go person--nothing against hanging out, but I'm a New Yorker, I've got places to go ... if I wanted to sit and linger, I'd get tea, right? But this spot is so welcoming it feels hard not to stop for a bit and enjoy that quality coffee. They have a small but interesting selection of snacks and pastries--I tried the Leek Parmesean Turnover which sounded wonderful and tasted even better--pure, melt-in your mouth goodness. Paired with a top notch cortado, it made for an ideal afternoon snack. I would have sat and lingered longer and read, but seems like the word is already out --with its ample seating, it was pretty crowded mid-afternoon, and felt I should surrender my seat to the people I saw peering around anxiously while waiting on line. read more

Really enjoy this spot, the vibes here are so good. Really great spot to just hang out and catch up with friends, go on a chill short date (don't want to be too committed to a long first date ya know) or as a lot of people do, study/work with the wifi they offer. Lots and lots of people study and work here, so finding a seat might be challenging unfortunately, but there's enough turnover thankfully with the many seats they have. The drinks here are not inexpensive but similar to other spots around. I LOVE the aromatics and have had it many times over the last few years. They pride themselves on sourcing beans directly from independent coffee producers in Colombia, and having a 10-45 day origin to cup timeline (with most other coffee companies it's 145-365 days). This location in Downtown Brooklyn is effortlessly chic, with lots of natural light, plants, and vintage tile. Unfortunately, finding a seat or working here may be a challenge. At noon on a weekday, the place was packed, with no seats available. I regretted ordering my coffee "for here" as I had to drink it standing awkwardly in a corner. Fortunately, the Cappuccino was exceptional. Rich in flavor, with no acidity, and a delicate melt in your mouth foam. I've been wanting to try Devocion since I walked past the location in Dumbo and was in awe of the decor and the plants. I'm glad that I opted to check out the Brooklyn location because the high ceilings and HUGE plant arrangement in the center of the coffeeshop are breathtaking. The plants and the natural lighting in here are *chef's kiss*. COFFEE + there's no chai tea latte's here (I was bummed, these are my favorite) + not my favorite coffee, wasn't that hot when it came out. A cup with oatmilk substitute was $4.50 + they also had pastries but they didn't look too appetizing tbh SERVICE + I'd asked and paid extra for oatmilk and they put a splash in the coffee. When I'd asked for more oatmilk the barista huffed and puffed like he didn't want to give me more. SEATING/WIFI + wifi was strong, I had no issues getting work done during the couple of hours that I was there + there's lots of plugs right along the walls where seating is + variety of seating options include a couch, single chairs and tables. I had no problem finding a seat here but I did come top of the morning. Later in the day may be more challenging since some folks really camp out here all day getting work done. read more

Out of all the Devoción locations, this downtown Brooklyn location is my favorite. Aesthetically speaking, the raised seating dais is the centerpiece of the cafe, with comfy couches and beautiful lush greenery that provides a sense of seclusion in a cafe that often is difficult to find seating in. The drinks are always great but I feel people overlook the tisanes. On my most recent visit, I tried their papaya, soursop, gooseberry, lemon verbena aromatica ($3.50) and sea salt chocolate chip cookie ($4.50). The tea was quite interesting-- the papaya didn't add as much sweetness as I would have preferred but the lemon verbena and gooseberry lent the perfect amount of tartness that would almost border on a pucker. The cookie was massive and so delicious and chewy, perfect complement for the tart tea. read more

I'll have to come back for their espresso drinks, but based on their beans and coffee drip alone, this is one of my favorite roasters in NYC. From my understanding, they only get their beans from Columbia, so if you're trying to find other single origin beans say from Yirgacheffe, Rwanda or elsewhere, you're out of luck. I only did a drip to go, but in surveying the cafe, there's a lot of seating and good ambiance to read a book or do some work from a laptop. A lot of people fill up the cafe, so get here early if you want to claim a spot to sit. read more

So I came here after a cycling class & I decided to grab tea & see what else they sell. I'd past by another location in dumbo & wanted to try this spot out. The decor is amazing. I loved the plants and they have some pretty big sized plants here. And a lot of great lighting and views of downtown which is a plus. You definitely can work here , or just stop in to take a break and get a way from the hustle and bustle of Brooklyn. *I ordered a hot green tea which I believe was 3.50. very small cup not even 12oz but more like 8 oz. * they don't sell a wide selection of items to eat. I noticed crossaints but I wasn't to impressed. It seems like there more of a coffee focused cafe which typically all cafes are but no real variety in my opinion The customer service was not the best . When I orders my tea they put it in a cup and for sanitary purposes I had asked for a paper cup & the guy who made my tea kinda gave a attitude and stared like really? I also noticed his fingernails were very dirty and unclean. I feel like working with tea , drinks and light pastries you should have clean nails and hands as well as wear gloves. Either or is fine. Seating was relatively decent but it was crowded for 9am ish so I think it's better to go early than later in the day. It's cozy enough that you'll sit in there for a while. read more

A cute buy very popular spot. The coffee itself is good. It is very straightforward and has a simple menu- no syrups besides simple syrup and honey. The coffee really speaks for itself without any bells and whistles. The space is also very cute and just nice to look at. There's a bunch of greenery on the walls, and many a place to sit (with couches and tables lining the walls) One thing to note though, it's not a very quiet and place to do work spot. While the big seating area IS. plus, it is also a con in the sense that it gets very loud with all of the people coming in and out and the voices echoing off the open space. There's constantly a long line that reaches the door, with so many people trying to get their hands on a cup of coffee. There is also only one bathroom, and with so many people drinking coffee, you know there is a long line. This is not very much the coffee places' spot, but still something to think about if you're looking for a place for coffee. I guess success comes with a price. The staff was very sweet, and the coffee was great. But if you're there for a relaxing time or to WFH, you might want to go elsewhere. read more
