Celebrated a friend's birthday today outside in an igloo. Abby, our server, explained all the sanitation procedures, shared their weekly covid testing to work there. Incredibly safe! And the food and drink are outstanding. Truly a great place with a great wait staff. read more

Devils kitchen has great views and a small, yet varied menu. The food quality is above average especially for Grand Junction. The prices are a bit high and the service, specifically pre bussing tables, is less than average and it is getting worse. Upon ordering dessert, we still found our appetizer plates and empty cocktail glasses sitting on the table. The first two times I was at DK the pre bussing was no better, but this visit was for a birthday and to have to ask to have dirty dishes removed for a meal that cost well over $50 a person is embarrassing and somewhat frustrating. Please work with your staff on pre bussing. It would make 3 stars but increase to 4 1/2 stars, at the very least. read more

The deviled eggs were great. The bison and chicken were good but not exceptional. The drinks took an exceptionally long time to arrive. The first lavender gin drink was nothing more than slightly sweet water. After the first drink was rejected the second drink again took a while to arrive. The second had distinct flavors of lavender but again there was no taste of Gin at all. Paying that price for a drink one should expect to pay what was paid for. After we finished our plates several wait staff and other employees passed our table without offering to remove our plates. The temperature in the room was cold and breezy which made for quick cooling off of our dishes. They are trying to be upscale but aren't there yet. read more

Our waitresses Maybree and Audrey were amazing. I would definetly consider giving them either a raise or promotion. They deserve everything coming to them. They are very respectful nice and considerate human beings. This was an amazing expeiriance! I have never gotten better costumer service. It was a little pricey but the experience was worth it! Went here for a special day, sons 21st birthday. Amuse bouche was nice but overplayed. Honestly, making that a complete dish and increasing the amount of nicely seasoned beans would make a great replacement for the vegan "tortilla soup". The salmon was wonderful, the vegan gnocchi with pesto was quite good. Prices were high, service was friendly but sporadic as this is a training site for CMUs hospitality program. No vegan (impossible burger or beyond meat) would be an easy option IF the chef was with the program of growing trends. The artichoke was devoid of anything edible although the plant was seasoned and cooked in aromatics and the accompanying air puffed potato chips in a balsamic glaze were heavenly AMF stand on their own. read more

Came here for an anniversary celebration, after a few days in San Diego.... Have to admit I'm not much of a yelper because I pretty much give everyone the benefit of the doubt, but was extremely disappointed. We DO NOT like QR menus!!!! Only choice supposedly because they change the menu so much- I call BS. Same menu for 1 1/2 years..,..Have to give cudos to where cudos are deserved. The drinks were very good, the service good yet inexperienced. Our meal was delivered before we even had a chance to get but a few bites our appetizer -even after commenting to the wait staff that we hoped it wouldn't be a problem to order them at the same time. The sea food Viche was little more than seafood in a very salty broth. They did the right thing and removed the charge. But still when you come this fine of a restaurant one expects the best. read more

Service is high quality as it is a training institution, although the food is a bit over rated.

I've dined at Devil's Kitchen twice now. Both times the service was great. The menu lacks plant based choices, hopefully this will change. The first time I had the Cauliflower Wrap, hold the cheese. Quite nice, especially the house made tortilla. The 2nd time, I called ahead to see if the pupusas could be made without cheese, they accomidated me! The Blood Orange Margarita is excellent, but pricy. I cannot give this restaurant 5 stars due to the problem with the temperature control. On both visit, my friends & I wished we had brought jackets. The servers attempted to make the space less of a refrigerator on a hot day, but it never worked for more than a few minutes. read more

I made a reservation at Devil's Kitchen for a birthday in the family - all 8 of us dined outside on the deck and it was wonderful. The food was excellent, the view was fabulous, service attentive - just a perfect evening. About 2 weeks later we had another family event - this time 10 people and we had to dine inside due to rainy weather. It was another wonderful evening - food, service, ambiance - all great. What an awesome addition to the dining options in Grand Junction. And I love that the restaurant and hotel are helping CMU students to learn about hospitality. read more

Devil's kitchen has a great atmosphere and beautiful views, but it is way over priced. I got the steak which as $40, and the steak was super tough and chewy. It was terrible for a $40 steak. The service was great and the drinks were good too. Overall, I would not come back for food. read more

Service was terrible! The poor bartender was understaffed. My party was seated 1.5 hours after our reservations and no updates from the hostess or manager. I was so disappointed we planned a special occasion here, I apologized so many times to my friends. Food arrived 45 minutes after ordering. We walked ourselves to our own table, weren't even escorted. Not sure if the students were new but it was so terrible that we won't return. read more

Four of us ate dinner here. We started with the monument fries which were very good. I ordered the shrimp primavera pasta. It was very bland and the noodles were gummy. My husband ordered the ginger and beer chicken. He said it was flavorful but a little undercooked. My aunt had the sweet potato pupusas for her main dish. They were so tough she couldn't cut them with a knife. The only way to eat them was to pick them up. The sweet potato element was a few very small diced pieces of sweet potato which was overpowered by the corn flavor of the pupusa. My uncle ordered the shrimp & lobster cobb salad and said it was good. Service was very good. It is a very popular place, but for the prices we won't be going back. read more

The food was great! I loved the bison on my salad. However, the portions were too small for the price.

Delicious food. Had a pasta dish and my wonderful girlfriend had a salad. Both of us decided the food was quite good, however the portion sizes are shit for the price. Would have been a 4 or 5 if portions were larger. I finished my meal in about 90 seconds. My slow eating girlfriend finished her bison salad in about 5 min, which is very fast for her. One star for the view. Started out on a bad foot. We had a reservation (as did the two parties that came in after us). Still had to wait about 10 minutes for the Hostess stand to figure out where to put everyone. They spent several minutes staring at the computer screen, clicking here and there and looking lost. Restaurant was mostly empty. Once seated, we were told we needed our cell phones to look at the menu. We feel it's rude to bring a phone to dinner. They supplied a tablet to view it. After a long wait, manager finally came by and asked if we'd met our waiter yet. When we told her no, he immediately appeared. They served an Ale in a frosted Pilsner glass. My husband ordered a salad to start. It came with no dressing. When the waiter finally came back to check, we informed him that he forgot the dressing. After another wait, he came back with dressing and our dinners. My husband's meal was luke warm, so he had to inhale that, and go back to the pile of lettuce (salad). I ordered the Cobb salad. It was soggy with too much dressing. We were excited about having Bananas Foster for dessert. We were told it would be flamed at the table. Waiter brought out a slab of ice cream with some uncooked, sliced bananas and some sort of sauce. He said "I promise this was flamed in the kitchen". It clearly was not. $18 for a slab of ice cream? Although, the duck fat fries were good. We won't be back. read more

The ambiance of the location is perfect for a date night. I love the bartender is a female and doesn't do the typical coquettish vibe I'm use to seeing. The drinks were subpar considering the prices being $15 and up for a martini. The typical basic charcuterie board which I could make better was $21 which wasn't grand and there was hair in the food. I thought it was my long red hair so I did not say anything but come the third short brown strand I shoved the food away. I even asked for the food to be boxed because I seriously thought it was my hair. Again, I didn't make a scene because why would I embarrass an establishment that prides themselves on food? Came home with the box and found another strand of hair. I'm not sure if I pissed off this restaurant and I did not mention the hair due to wanting to be considerate, however, between the drinks and wine this location is made for college kids who want a fancy date night. It's not for locals, not for a true night out even though the vibe gives off date night. Hard to enjoy a night out when the food contains hair and it's a cheese board and the drinks are $15 and up and the drinks suck :/ I believe this place will be better but it'll take time. They can be better so don't stop going and give this location a chance. Regardless of my review it's up to the public to decide what they love and hate. read more
