The Chickpea "Chick'n" Salad Sandwich was really good and packed with flavor. The portion was so generous that I ended up taking half home for dinner! My friends enjoyed both the Fajitas Ricas and the House Special Omelet. For dessert, the Blueberry Cornbread was delicious--not overly sweet, which I really liked. The Cinnamon Roll was just okay; it was a little doughy for my taste. Overall, the portions are generous, there are plenty of creative vegetarian and vegan options, and it's definitely a place I'd come back to try more of the menu.

I will say the Casa De Luz restaurant itself was a little bit confusing, I didn't know that everyone basically got the same food and that you had to order at the front and then go wait in the line. It was a bit confusing/hard to get assistance from employees with how to order our food. However, once we got our food it was so delicious and I finished my plate. The vibes were absolutely amazing, very peaceful, spatious, beautiful. After we finished our food me and my partner spent about another hour walking around the area and checking out all the little shops. Very very cool and I would totally come back.

Apr 8, 2026 review:…read more I've been at Nori two times in person and recently tried their to-go order. We got one Austin roll ($22), volcano roll ($15), creamy spicy tan tan ramen ($20), teriyaki sesame tofu yakisoba ($20). I have had their sushi and yakisoba but tried their ramen for first time. I was impressed with their packaging. As you can see in picture, veggies and noodles box was on top and soup at bottom. The only thing I didn't like how noodles became very sticky because of how tight they were packed. So I got it as cold (because I live 30 mins away) and sticky. Ramen came with all the veggies like grilled Chinese broccoli, tofu, sweet corn, marinated shiitake mushrooms, red onions and negi. Yakisoba noodles had the Stir-fried noodles tossed with cabbage, scallion, carrot, marinated shiitake mushrooms, and fragrant negi in a savory house sauce. It was good if you like this type of noodles. Austin roll had Smoked tempeh, tempura tofu, jalapeño, pickles. And on the to Avocado, roasted garlic oil, tempura flakes, smoked paprika, teriyaki. Volcano roll was a deep fried roll which had spinach, avocado, sweet potato. On top: spicy mayo, sweet soy sauce, chili sauce, Caviart and tempura onion. I would say this is the best vegetarian sushi place I've found in Austin. So if you're in search, this wouldn't disappoint you.

I studied their website before we went as a review session and they have a section with ingredients and options for food allergies and special diets. I got there prepared and the owner was there and I found out that website hasn't been updated in about 2 years. Many things have changed, but not their website. Our go-to Meati Sandwich is no longer on the menu. But I must say I love the new place. Bold, clean, awesome. Other than that, not too much has changed; they still have a lot of mouthwatering items on the menu... and my family can only eat one burger on the menu. We're allium-free vegetarians and there's alliums in sauces and certain proteins used. Thankfully, we were speaking to one of the co-owners and he was super helpful and patient with us, even looking up ingredients and letting us double check. He is aware of the Jain diet. They also have a kids menu and we actually ordered off of one for the first time for the kids (just a simplified version of the regular burgers), We ended up ordering: MISSION BURGER ($16.95): a classic burger with 2 Impossible patties. Having said that, the patties were super thin and smooshed flat. The guys got this burger. Took out onions and subbed out the house sauce with ketchup and mustard. JR MISSION BURGER ($12.95): same as the regular with only 1 of the smooshed impossible patties. My sister and I got this. A very good burger and it's such a nostalgic feeling eating a burger (that I didn't make myself for once). The burger was perfectly filling but I could definitely also eat a regular Mission with no issues since the patties are smooshed down. KIDS' CHEESEBURGER W/ FRIES (1 with a gluten-free bun), both $11.99 so no additional cost for GF: both my kids got this with nothing added in other than cheese and the smooshed impossible patty. The saddest looking burgers BUT they ate it! The gluten-free bun is a bit... flattened, but my kid ate half of it there and finished it on the car ride out of Austin. Then asked for another one. In fact, he's still asking for another one and it's been almost 2 weeks. My other kid (picky, no allergies) likes it as well, but didn't finish and not as much as her brother. But she definitely loved the fries. SMALL FRIES ($3.50): almost every order of burgers came with a side of fries. These are perfect, stayed delicious, and were perfectly seasoned. If you are gluten-sensitive or have a wheat allergy, do know they use a shared fryer for ALL their fried items. My kid with the food allergies couldn't eat them, just to be safe. COOKIES AND CREAM MILKSHAKE ($11.95): This is made with their soft serve and regular Oreo cookies. SO GOOD. My daughter and my vegan sister got one each. Not too sweet, hit the spot perfectly. I would like to suggest they offer a gluten-free version made with GF Oreos if they can figure out how to significantly eliminate cross contamination... or just use only GF Oreos. VANILLA SOFT SERVE ($3.99): fun fact - these are lentil protein based! Got this for my kid with the food allergies (he's allergic to wheat, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, avocado, pineapple, kiwi) who prefers real dairy and he ate almost the entire cup! It's a pretty hefty serving. I had a taste and it's pretty good. Very close to the dairy version. We were thrilled with our visit. Everything tasted great! I loved how there isn't an additional cost for a gluten free bun (it's a little wonky shaped... irregularly flattened on top). My food allergy kid asked me to make him a burger because he misses the one he got here and he specifically requested for buns with a round top so it's apparently a sore spot with him. I also love how I could actually talk to someone and make well informed decisions on what we could order... and we ordered everything we could have (aside from desserts). I'm a bit sad Mission Burger is so far away, but I guess it just means we'll have to stop by Austin when we're in Texas again. Thank you for another amazing experience!

FREE Chocolate Chip Cookie - The cookies are definitely great--no crazy standout, but they had a distinct oat flavor. I can imagine sea salt would enhance the flavor even more. I love chocolate chip, though... and FREE is the best seasoning. Mushroom Truffle - We agreed to split these burgers 50/50, and bro zoned out while eating; I got like 1/4 of it. Hopefully that emphasizes how much he enjoyed this burger. The first thing I noticed was that the patty wasn't as thick. I do like their burgers and how they're medium-rare, but this one was much more packed with mushrooms, per the burger style. If it had the B&B patty, this would've been my favorite. Hold up--I did not know this was an Impossible patty. Not bad, but it does explain the difference in flavor. Still, it paired exceptionally well with the mushrooms. Black & Blue - Very deep flavors. I didn't like it as much as the Mushroom Truffle. In fact, I felt like this was way too saucy. The blue cheese didn't hold the show as much as the rest of the burger, and I'm a sucker for blue cheese. Like, inject Penicillin straight into my soul; obsessed. Anyways, it was just okay. My BFF and I agreed that these burgers are TENDER. Like, "didn't have to chew; it was a soft slush in my mouth" tender. Anyways, the sauce on both of these was on point--the first bite was a very obvious banger of flavors. Okay. I lied; these are ALL Impossible patties. Instantly changed the game because these were very well executed. On the way out, one of the workers (perhaps the owner) asked for our feedback. Apparently, many of these burgers are new menu items, and we got to hear a bit of their backstory (and got another FREE cookie). Some of the loveliest people I've met. I really love what they're doing here, and I'm glad they moved just 15 minutes away from our location. Wishing them the best!

You visit a restaurant and you order via a kiosk and get your own beverages. Pretty soon, we'll be entering the doctor's office and drawing our own blood. But Fabrik? For example, at one point, I went to the bathroom and left my crumpled up napkin on the table like some sort of barbarian. When I returned, the napkin was neatly folded and my silverware had been replaced. It was so shocking that I almost wanted to test it again. How many times would they fold it? Beyond the exceptional care by the staff, the food was absolutely divine. You can tell the chef planned every course with care and a knowledge of food I could only dream of obtaining. I had never been to a restaurant where you're served multiple small dishes over the course of two hours. I was honestly worried I'd leave still feeling hungry. I was wrong. So wrong. The last time I felt this full was Thanksgiving 2004 when my aunt accidentally made too many mashed potatoes. At one point during the Fabrik dining experience, I said out loud, "Oh my god," and then quickly remembered I was in a public setting. Every course was delicious. The bread, the pasta, the white bean dip, the banana miso mousse... IT''S ALL SO GOOD! If you're wondering, "Should I really spend this much money to eat?" the answer is yes. You should. I was lucky enough to snag a table for three during Fabrik's earlier timeslot (5:45 p.m.) on a Friday night. I've been dreaming of visiting Fabrik since it first opened in 2023, so when I received an email about the opening of Fabrik's new Tarrytown location, I knew this was my chance. Fabrik's tasting menu costs $105 a person, with an extra optional wine pairing for $65. We opted to purchase a bottle of bubbles instead of the wine pairing, as the pairing includes approximately three glasses of wine (too much for us). Each course is a special expression of in season produce and other ingredients. Fabrik tries to use local ingredients whenever possible. Fabrik's friendly staff explain the details of each course to your table as they're serving. My favorite savory dish is "black and yellow" which features shiitake mushroom cappelletti in a corn cream reminiscent of corn chowder, served alongside corn madeleines (the first savory expression of a madeleine I've ever seen). Another favorite is the "verdant" featuring scalloped potatoes with homemade cabbage and topped with an aromatic lemongrass hollandaise tableside. After telling friends about our visit to Fabrik, multiple people asked if I was full after a fully vegan meal. A resounding yes. Each plate is on the smaller end, which is necessary because there are eight courses. The last three courses are sweet, which is a delight for those of us with a sweet tooth. My favorite sweet course is the "open sesame" with banana miso mousse and roasted banana compote, served alongside a crunchy black sesame sable. This dish is topped with an extremely realistic "leaf" made solely of banana and sugar, showing the true artistry of this restaurant. Our meal ended with a delicate yuzu macaron topped with a butterfly, which was the perfect citrusy end to an otherwise equally superb meal. Each member of my group left with bellies full and dreams of our favorite courses. After visiting this unique spot, it's easy to see why Fabrik is Michelin recommended. This was maybe my favorite meal I've ever had in Austin. Fabrik's tasting menu changes seasonally, so we tried their "Summer" menu during our August visit. I hope to return for their winter dishes. Try Fabrik for a night to remember, if you can snag a reservation.

But just know it's filled with weird taxidermy and novelty items that are one of a kind. But I digress. Back to the food. I would like to tell you I tried everything on the menu as many times as I came here. But alas, only four or five things. Unfortunately, their pierogies are the best thing I've ever had. Not just in Austin, but ever. I am now desperately seeking pierogies that rival FTG's. It's not just the pierogies themselves... but the sauce, it would make angels sing. Every time I tried something new, my heart would long for the pierogies. I finally gave in to my desires and quit trying other new things. I think next time I go back I'm just going to ask strangers if I can have a bite of their food, so I can say I've tried everything. But until then, this review is for what I have tried. After the pierogies. My next favorite things in order. Fried chicken (perfectly crisp bites), jerk chicken (little spicy, not dry, perfect), chilli (so spicy), gnocchi. The cheesecake would technically rank after the pierogies, but because they're a dessert I don't wanna mess up the order here and confuse y'all. The two dudes that work this truck, are here EVERY time. I'm pretty sure the only days they take off is Mondays and Tuesdays. Tell them the girl from Kansas City with a big dog sent to you. Lastly. Rating: 2.7/5 [Postmates delivery]…read more We were so excited to try FTG's food, especially given its high Yelp rating. Unfortunately, it ended up being extremely disappointing. The meats were unforgivably dry, though everything else was good. Steak & Zab ($22): The zab, a mix of green beans, mushrooms, and broccoli tossed in salsa macha with sabayon, was actually enjoyable. I liked the flavors, but it was a bit too creamy/saucy for my husband (likely due to the sabayon). The steak, however, was dry and very chewy. Asian Style Spare Ribs ($17): This came with a 1/3 rack of spare ribs, a Thai cabbage salad, and five-spice fried potatoes. The potatoes were fire, and the salad was solid. But again, the meat missed the mark--super dry for the most part. We tried dipping it in the sabayon and other sauces to add moisture, but it didn't help. The fish sauce glaze didn't come through either. The only redeeming quality was the generous portion size.
