Also asked him about some asphalt areas that were affected by tree roots. Hired him to do all of it. They did a great job filling, removing, and paving. Everything was also completed before deadline and any debris was cleaned up. In the future, my plan is to hire him to seal my asphalt. His price is very competitive also. And scheduling was easy. He responds immediately when you contact him, and most importantly I find he is a honest businessman.

Our driveway and a 5-foot tall retaining wall between our driveway and front yard were severely…read moredamaged and on the verge of collapse. We hired A-1 Stone to remove the concrete driveway and retaining wall, and then to rebuild the driveway with pavers and the retaining wall with concrete blocks. Additionally, proper drainage was installed behind the retaining wall. The work was performed by the company's owner, Paul Singh, along with two of his employees. Remarkably, A-1 Stone completed all the work in just three days, and the results are excellent. Everything looks great, and Paul and his team were a pleasure to work with. I would definitely consider contracting them again. I do have two (minor) recommendations for A-1 Stone to improve: Website Improvement: The company's website is somewhat lacking. It's difficult to see examples of their work or to assess their experience with specific types of projects. A portfolio showcasing past work would be very beneficial. Product Variety: The selection of colors and products they offered was rather limited. Other companies provided brochures featuring a range of stone colors and types, while A-1 Stone only offered a single option for our retaining wall: grey concrete blocks. Overall, it was a relief to work with A-1 Stone. They completed the job efficiently with great results, and there were no hassles or problems. Furthermore, both Paul and his employees spoke English, which made communication much easier, especially since many contractors employ workers who only speak Spanish or Portuguese.

Throughout the process he and his crew were very professional and respectful. We felt like they treated our project as if it was for their own property. One of our gates had to be removed for access and they were able to rebuild it as good as new. Some of the yard was a bit torn up as a result of the machinery but Paul offered to add top soil and even spread the grass seed and peat moss I had on hand! We had neighbors walk by and compliment on how great it looked while they were still completing it. I would absolutely recommend Paul and wouldn't hesitate to use him again for future projects.

This was primarily the reason why we paid to have the pavers done. 1 year in and there are weeds already growing in between the tiles. There are visible gaps in between the tiles where the sealant should have been applied. It looks like the sealant work was not done well (check pictures). There are a couple of loose tiles as well, near the entrance of the backyard, which just points to shoddy work. Communication has also been pretty poor. I don't hear back about any questions or messages that I send until I email back again asking for an update. Update: Upon paying…read morefor the fence project in full, I expected no further contact from Josh Sanderson of Azimuth Works, but unfortunately it's only gotten worse: verbal harassment, online stalking and a series of lies and accusations. While I'm walking my dog on my own property, Mr. Sanderson drives by and begins to yell obscenities at me, says he's been looking me up on LinkedIn and doesn't approve of my career choices. He then begins to shout about how he's made millions of dollars in startups as a salesman or something and I'm just standing there bemused that this grown man is actually driving past a former customer's home to harass and intimidate. I've notified the Seattle police department about this encounter and plan to record the next time he behaves in this way so I can turn over this video to the authorities. I hope it doesn't happen again but given his behavior to date, I'm definitely ready for it! He's now spent months continuing to tell lies and spin the truth - he even tried to get the Better Business Bureau to throw out my complaint and tried to convince them that I was not an actual customer. The BBB quickly approved my complaint after I sent them documentation, and meanwhile he continued to press them and accused the BBB of not doing their job very well. I've never been through an experience like this with a contractor who would harass a customer after full payment but it just goes to show you really have to be careful choosing who to work with.

In early fall, we hired contractor Josh Sanderson of Azimuth Works for an exterior window and deck…read morerestoration project and had a very negative experience. Initially the project seemed to go well. We signed onto a bid that provided low- and high-end estimates of labor and material costs. Only part way into the project, however, we received an invoice that, together with the deposit, equaled the high-end estimate for the entire project. We were very surprised by the invoice since the project was not near completion. We also had unsettling interactions with Mr. Sanderson just before and during the new billing. The first occurred earlier on the day before receiving the new invoice. In a conversation about how work was progressing and our desire to have more priority given to our project, the contractor began shouting insults while on our property and continuing as he got into his car. We tried to lower the tension level with appeals for reasonable dialogue to no avail. Two days after we received the invoice, at 6:30 in the morning, while it was still dark out, we were awakened by a police officer at our door informing us Mr. Sanderson allegedly had tried that morning to remove the stack of boards (which hadn't yet been installed) from our porch. Later that same morning, we received an email threatening a lawsuit unless we paid the invoice immediately. This occurred even though we had communicated the day before to Mr. Sanderson that we were reviewing the invoice. Note, for clarification: We had discussed modest additions to the scope of restoration. Only one of those ideas, a strip of wood around the outside of the porch, had been completed, and was included in the new bill. Other potential additions did not and could not factor into the billing since no work had been applied to them. We paid the remaining bill although the work was far from complete. We wanted to have no more dealings with this contractor. We would like to emphasize that clients have the right to review and question billing and other work-related issues without having the threat of lawsuits and other intimidating actions aimed at them. Looking back, we regret we did not research the reviews and complaints on consumer sites, such as Yelp and the Better Business Bureau before starting the project.

He even gracefully adapted when we discovered the fire pit needed repositioning due to code requirements, finding a solution that worked perfectly. I chose his bid although it was higher than another one because his ideas made more sense for a better long lasting product that's very important to a house. Building a new fence seemed a better option than rebuilding the old one. Everything was done beyond my expectations, a slight problem with the fence was quickly repaired. Because he did such a great job, I decided on my own to hire him directly without bothering with other bids due to working with him as well as the quality of his work. He really wants to be proud of the final product for his customers and his sense of workmanship and integrity. This time he put pavers instead of cement along the side of my house, an area outside my basement, several steps alongside two gardens for veggies or flowers as I eventually will decide. Then on the top of this is another area for pavers and a walkway to my side door. Added some mulch around some trees to prepare for plants when I find time to finish this lovely backyard. There's still a decent amount of grass remaining and I plan to have his company finish to the side and front of my house later this year. Highly recommend!
