Answered my question about fencing on top of rockeries. Didn't have Engineer on staff but referred me elsewhere

Initially this company was hired through a managing contractor to rebuild my retaining wall. Harry and his workers, especially Benjamin, were very easy to work with. I chose his bid although it was higher than another one because his ideas made more sense for a better long lasting product that's very important to a house. Building a new fence seemed a better option than rebuilding the old one. Everything was done beyond my expectations, a slight problem with the fence was quickly repaired. Because he did such a great job, I decided on my own to hire him directly without bothering with other bids due to working with him as well as the quality of his work. He really wants to be proud of the final product for his customers and his sense of workmanship and integrity. This time he put pavers instead of cement along the side of my house, an area outside my basement, several steps alongside two gardens for veggies or flowers as I eventually will decide. Then on the top of this is another area for pavers and a walkway to my side door. Added some mulch around some trees to prepare for plants when I find time to finish this lovely backyard. There's still a decent amount of grass remaining and I plan to have his company finish to the side and front of my house later this year. Highly recommend! read more

Harry and his crew replaced a rockery around the property of our church. They did an amazing job! The work was completed on time with absolutely no cost overruns. Harry was very communicative and was available by phone any time we had a question. The rockery and seating wall that they put in looks so much better than the old ones! I would highly recommend Seattle Rockeries!! read more

Highly Recommend! They just finished resetting our rock wall. Everything went smoothly. Harry and team were responsive and professional. While it's never inexpensive, to have retaining wall work done, we thought it was definitely worth the value. I submitted my request with photos on their website. Harry responded soon after and was working in our area and able to come out and look at project. Harry communicated with us regarding timing, answered all of my questions and they were careful of our property and plants. Would hire again and recommend to our neighbors. read more

Seattle Rockeries is an amazing contractor. Harry and his team are professional and hard-working. I would recommend Seattle Rockeries to my friends. First, I'd like to quote something from a comedian, Sebastian Maniscalco, he said on his Netflix original episode , " You ever get a contractor to work at your house? They'll do the job... They start it, they get a bigger job. Now they pull their whole crew, they work the bigger job, bigger money. Now, you're sitting there. Nobody. I got no floor, no ceiling. Nothing." Familiar ? I guess a lot of people who have had a contractor working for their houses, would say, " Yes, been there, done that!" That was also how I felt when our roof got fixed. We couldn't sleep in our bedroom with a big hole above for three months, because the contractor had another bigger job... When I was looking for a contractor for our yard work, I told myself I needed a reliable contractor for the yard project. The first time Harry came over, I specially asked him if he would leave our yard project during the construction and move to another one. He said, "No, I only work on one project until it's done." He is a honest businessman, he did what he promised. The yard project only took 3 weeks. Harry and his team came over every weekdays, and worked so hard. If you hire Seattle Rockeries for home projects, you wouldn't go through what the comedian said. Harry is very good at details. Whenever there was a question, he would talk to us and confirm what we wanted. They rebuilt the retailing wall and the fence of our front yard, and paved the yard. They did exactly what we asked. It was a jungle yard and now it is a beautiful garden. We love it so much, including our cat who loves exploring there more than before. Our neighbors and friends tell us the wall and the fence look great. read more

Harry and his crew did a great job building the retaining wall using Redi-Rock blocks. There were 2 slopes and so it wasn't an easy job and required fussy dressing of the enormous blocks. They also build a rock terracing wall and also did a fabulous job on that, taking care to protect the enormous and City-designated exceptional tree. There was a a problem with one of the sub-contractors, and Harry handled it professionally and satisfactorily. We are extremely happy with the work of Seattle Rockeries, and also all of our interactions. Really excellent outfit! read more

Seattle Rockeries did a fantastic job on our project. Harry was willing to meet me when convenient for me to discuss the project and create a quote. He was very diligent about making sure the work being done was to our specification throughout the process. The crew was very professional - the end result looks great! I'll be hiring Seattle Rockeries for my next stone/brick project. read more

We had such a great experience with Harry and his team. We had them replace several retaining walls (some failing, some just for aesthetic reason) and build us two patio spaces with pavers and they were so helpful from the beginning to the end. Harry guided me through the (long) permitting process with the city and his team was able to start not too long after we finally got the permit. Communication was great and Harry and his team gave great advice on the best plan for our yard. We are thrilled with the result and would hire them again in a heartbeat. read more

Harry is awesome!! Very responsive- he'll call me as soon as I text him a question to explain it to me thoroughly. He was understanding and accommodating to our complicated needs. He knows his stuff- he was the only contractor out of 4-5 contractors who informed us that we need a permit from the city. Harry and his crew got the job done beautifully. Highly recommended. read more

Harry came out and gave us an estimate on a Friday. It was very reasonable and competitive. The next Thursday they began construction. They built a 44 foot retaining wall a set of set beautiful rock stairs and another 39 foot retaining wall. Lastly and most wonderfully they put in a 12 x 9 slate patio. The team was courteous and professional. Harry was great to work with, he did several alteration from the original bid with no extra charges. I even enjoyed their company. Overall we are so delighted with the fabulous transformation of our yard. From steep weed covered eyesore to this beautiful usable space. read more

In one morning Seattle Rockeries did three separate, though relatively small, projects for us. They restored a crumbling set of stone steps, created a garden of large rocks in the corner of our yard, and re-graveled our driveway which had deteriorated into a "mud-way" over the years. Fast, professional, and exactly what we were looking for. We are very happy with their work. read more

Harry and his team is outstanding. He came to build a 4 foot retaining wall across the front of my property. One section had two tiers. This was constructed on a steep slope so he was using some pretty big rocks. I was specifically looking for a natural stone rockery and his was the only company that didn't try to talk me into stacked manufactured stone. His crew was excellent and he got to work right away and finished the project a day early. (How often does that happen?). His crew was hard working and very tidy. When they left you could hardly tell they had been there except for a fantastic new wall. I can't recommend them enough. The results exceeded my expectations. read more

Seattle Rockeries team did an excellent job on our retaining wall and fence project. They communicated about the timeline and any potential delays due to material a few weeks ahead of time, so we knew what to expect. When they did get started the finished much quicker than expected, only 3 days, and we LOVED how it all looked. The foreman was patient with our picky fence requests, and he was very skilled at demolition of the existing retaining wall around a city light post. Harry, the owner, was transparent about potential additional rock needed when the wall was higher than expected/quoted and helped us keep costs in line. All in all we were extremely happy and would highly recommend them! read more

We had a great experience with Seattle Rockeries. Harry, Ben, and the crew did an amazing job for us. The initial communication, scoping of the work, and estimate process went very smoothly. I was prepared to run into issues and uncertainty given prior experience with other companies, especially with covid, however this was seamless. The work started when scheduled and there was clear communication leading up to the start date. I had a design in mind and worked details out with Harry, collaborating to come up with the plan. The day the work was to start, I had a number of changes I wanted to make which impacted materials and labor. Harry had a great attitude about this, understanding that we both wanted to end up with an end product we'd be happy with. The adjustments now accounted for, and after walking through with the crew, the work kicked off. The entire crew were adhering to covid protocols, were accommodating to the neighbors with access (our house is at the corner of a private road with multiple neighbors), and easy to work with. The communication between myself, Harry, Ben and crew was key as a number of decisions have to be made during a job like this. They were landscaping my entire property (two tier block wall, rockery wall, stairs, pavers, custom fence), really a complete transformation of the entire footprint. The collaboration was key to the success of the job, without question, as they brought ideas that ended up making a big difference. The work was completed on schedule, within agreed budget, and is impeccable. We feel great about the end product and are very excited to have friends and family come enjoy it with us. I highly recommend Seattle Rockeries! read more

Harry & his team did an excellent job on our 30 ft Rockery wall helping define the garden bed. We love the gentle curve enchanted by the Vancouver Blue stone. I highly recommend Seattle Rockeries and I will be working with them again in the future. Harry and team helped me remove a large rockery in a difficult to approach spot with quite a few obstacles to work around. First off, Harry was very responsive and flexible in meeting with me before the project to discuss our needs. He listened, provided great advice, and we came up with a good plan. When it came to completing the project, Harry and team were punctual, prepared, and worked very hard. There were a few parts of the project I changed after we started and Harry was accommodating and his team was creative in finding a solution that made the project turn out even better than expected. I highly recommend! read more

Got a quote for $2600 plus tax to secure a rock that slid from my rockery divider. Harry said that $2600 was a deal due to whats going on now, meaning Covid I'm assuming. He said regular price would be around $3200 or somewhere around that price-can't remember the exact number he gave me. The quote to me was unbelievable because it was only 1 rock. Anyway, got it done by another company who only charged us $325 plus tax. What a difference in price!! The job took less than an hour to do and we are satisfied with the work. read more

We recently had Harry and his team "do" the hardscape on our front, side and backyard in Seattle. Harry worked with us using a design prepared for us by a landscape architect a few years ago. Prior to starting the project, we reached agreement regarding materials, scope of work, timing and cost. While we found some surprises underground which required a few changes, Harry and team were excellent on all accounts. The project came in on time and for the price quoted. We really love the end result. read more

Harry and his team did a wonderful job on our permeable paver project. They went above and beyond to make everything perfect. Harry and his team did a wonderful job, they were quick and very efficient. The workers, Benjamin, Juan and Martin really worked hard to keep us happy. I contacted Seattle rockeries to get a handle of how much effort and resources will it take to remove the 25yr old retaining wall (wood) and get a new sturdy one build. Harry (owner) stopped by and walked me through various options I have and cost associated with each option. He spent good amount of time explaining me the process in detail and do & don't when it comes to having a retaining wall set up. He showed me his past projects which convinced me that he is Pro at what he does. After signing the contract, he gave me estimate project start week and I got a call from him a week prior to that confirming the start date. His people arrived on time and completed the project within a week. The result turned out to be better than expected and now I have a very professional and good looking retaining wall in my backyard!! I would recommend anyone who want to get a retaining wall done to contact Harry. read more

Seattle Rockeries was very quick in response to our initial call, and the job was completed within a few days. They gave us a reasonable bid and were flexible with payment terms. Incredible work! I cannot recommend them enough. Would absolutely hire them again. Their pricing was consistent with my other bids, but I'm convinced Harry and team got the job done better and quicker than would the others. It was a pleasure to have them around the property. Seattle Rockeries was very professional and easy to communicate with. They submitted their estimate the night after we met in person to discuss the job. There were no surprises and although they arrived a little later than they originally said, the kept us up to date via text (which was my preferred method of communication) about arrival time. But what was most impressive was their obvious expertise. They completed a full demolition of our fence (approximately 25 ft) and old falling apart retaining wall and installed a new one approximately 4ft high made with large mostly "2-man" rocks in only 3 hours with a few guys, several trucks of material and one rock grabbing tool. It was really neat to watch! The 3 guys clearly work well as a team and communicate well--they were very careful to protect the plants in the surrounding area that I cared about as well as the side walk and other public spaces. I would hire them again in a heartbeat. read more
