Max was communicative through out the bid process and came out quickly to our home to take a look. The other contractors we reached out either to went to extremes and it really seemed like they were just after our $ or they were simply unresponsive. Max was able to fit us into his schedule quickly and did great repair work on our deck and floors. He was professional and kept us appraised of the situation. Max was a lifesaver, like savior sent! He went above and beyond completing a window relocation in record time (I would know lol I'm in construction myself). I had a window package coming Monday and was ghosted again by a contractor. I was scrambling Thursday to find help, which is nearly impossible on the timeline I had, but Max was on-site same day I called to provide an estimate. He was prepared to get this window relocated for me on Monday, but it rained and the windows were delayed, so we both agreed Tuesday would be better. He hit the ground running, covering everything to keep things from getting too dirty, he was clean, he was efficient, effective, communicative, respectful, and did what he said he'd do (yes, most people don't-weird also, 3 contractors have made sexual advance on me and ghosted when I put up a boundary-money also isn't good enough for many these days either). Not only did he relocate the window, he corrected some wiring for me as well (lots of corrective action required in this house before I can even start moving forward), he also closed up a door, and was going to trim out my windows (that's on hold due to the window company). If I could pay him to do everything around my house I don't have the time, tools, or knowledge I would. He has an ownership mentality and treats your home like it's his own. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Expert Home Construction, including Max and his team. We were lucky enough to have connected with him when we were trying to finish our garage and deck remodel. We were having no luck finding someone who could install the deck flooring in the timing and price range we needed. Max and Oleg not only accepted the job and offered a reasonable budget, but they finished in a day and it was BEAUTIFUL!! They recommended we add metal coping on top of the cedar parapet to avoid the exposed wood from rotting, which we are so glad we did. Max provided the bid for this, the ordered the materials, and completed the work. Because they did such an awesome job on these two projects, we asked them to help install the remaining stone to the front of the house, which they also did with remarkable craftsmanship. Our house has a basic two-level wooden deck that had gotten to be in pretty bad shape, and with COVID keeping us locked down we decided it was time to get it fixed up so that we could enjoy some fresh air and get more use out of our hot tub. We also wanted to figure out how to make a creative play space for our 4-year-old son, since our yard isn't large enough for most playground equipment. We contacted Expert Home Construction and Max was very prompt about communication, coming over to discuss what we had in mind for the space, and getting us a quote. His quote was the best value for our money, he could do everything we wanted (another company could only do the deck work but not the fence, for example) and he was able to start work within just a few days. Max took our rundown old simple deck and a small patch of unusable backyard space and did all of the following: * Cut down a large tree and removed a couple large bushes to increase the space in the backyard * Added a 6-foot fence around a portion of the backyard (creating a safe play area, since there's a large drop due to a retaining wall) * Laid down pavers under the upper part of the deck to convert a dirt area into usable space where we could put outdoor toys * Hung a swing under the upper part of the deck * Weatherproofed the play space by installing corrugating polycarbonate panels on the underside of the deck that drain into a gutter and downspout * Installed a tube slide from the upper deck to the lower deck * Redid the deck stairs * Replaced the majority of the deck boards * Built a canopy around the hot tub with translucent corrugated polycarb roofing, roll-down shades and curtains, and a bar along one side * Added a fence around the lower part of the deck, blended into the canopy * Installed two gates * Various other safety and code improvements He completely transformed our deck and backyard into something that feels like a vacation retreat right here at home. We're thrilled with the results, and if we need any other work like this done in the future, we'll be going with Expert Home Construction again. read more

We have done a lot of work on our house with contractors and subcontractors over the past 15 years, and Maksim with Expert Home Construction is one of the best. He does excellent work and is easy to work with. He was quick with email responses throughout, gave us a clear and fair bid, was able to fit our project in quickly, and easily adapted with us when the project had some unforeseen additions. We had originally planned to have him replace the tops of our stairs and replace the railing for our front porch, but when he started demo, it was clear the support for our stairs was all rotten. He worked with us to update the bid to include demo and rebuilding of the entire porch. We asked about changing the layout of the stairs at that point as well as adding a cubby under the stairs, and he was up for all of it. His updated bid was completely reasonable, and he even gave us a credit for some materials he would be able to return based on the new stair layout. He was always there when he said he'd be there, and he stayed on schedule even with the additional work. The work he did was very high quality and turned out amazing. We're thrilled with our new porch. We can't recommend Expert Home Construction enough. It will be the first place we ask for any future work. read more

Max has done a great job build my 600 sqft deck. He is thorough, detail oriented. He provide detail specification of the proposal and estimation. He listen to my feedback and provide options for us. During the construction period, he continuously looking for the area of improvement. And when a picture frame color is not as good as planned, he informed us and provide many different options and alternation even this will delay the completion. He never rush the project, he plans and does each step with thorough thought and plan. Result is a perfect deck. I don't want to write this review because I'm afraid Max will become too popular and not be available for my future projects! I really appreciated the professionalism that Max displayed from beginning to end of my deck project. Communication was great, he was able to fit my project in even sooner than I had hoped, finished the deck in the middle of a torrential downpour, and still managed to leave the worksite cleaner than he found it. We contacted Expert Home Construction for building a Pergola/cover for our raised deck. Ours is not a straightforward rectangular deck; there is an angled wall on the side of the house. After talking to a few contractors (some of them had no idea what they were talking about), it was clear that Max had a clear plan and was able to put a design together in a couple of days. I loved Max's responsiveness; he was very proactive and usually responded with a few minutes. That actually gave me confidence that his work and work ethics will be good as well.
