Max and his crew are AMAZING. Between last September til now, I have asked for their help 3 times (soon to be 4). I purchased a home without inspection last year, as soon as the house closed, I went into inspector mode since I wanted to make sure besides the remodeling that was already planned for, if there is anything that needed fixing, I have it fixed it before moving in. Sure enough I did find few minor issue with a roof top deck. Max's bid came in really reasonable with clear task break downs. I hired him for the job and I'm super glad I did. When I had Max working on the deck, the other crew who was working on my flooring had a mishap which caused minor flooding in my house. Instead of having the flooring company fix it, I asked Max for his help and opinion. Max tore into the wall and looked over everything with me, and gave me his opinion on it. Turns out the damage wasn't too bad, everything just need to be dried out before it is closed up again. Max did an amazing job on closing up the wall, too! you can hardly tell where the wall was opened up from. Now, to what I originally hired him for. He fixed a small rotted wall, and removed hot-tub platform so I have a more even deck surface for use, and he re-waterproof the deck surface as well. All were done perfectly with attention to detail! I was very happy with the end result. Now fast-foward to November/December 2020 time frame, we finally moved into the house after all the remodeling were done. As part of moving in, we ordered new washer/dryer and I cleaned out the dryer vent as much as I could from the inside out, which caused me to be curious about how the dryer vent is routed. So I went to the crawlspace trying to figure out how the dryer vent was routed. While in the crawlspace I noticed an area of the house missing a piece of insulation, which caused me to be curious again! I went and looked it over. I took the adjacent insulation off and found that I have few studs/wall sill and wall sheathing all rotted! I was able to pick out stud/wall sill just by hand. At the end I have about 1/3rd of original stud/wall sill left that were still solid, the rest were all rotted. At the time I found this the wood were damp but not wet, so I wasn't sure if it is an existing issue or is it something old that wasn't properly fixed. Not to mention I had no idea where the water was coming from. After some investigation, I had found that the concrete steps that lead to the backyard were poured directly against the wall sheathing with Tyvek as a barrier (i.e. not properly flashed). Who do I call?! Max of course! I contacted Max on X'mas Eve, I wasn't expecting him to come out to look at the issue until later due to the holidays. Max got back to me and was able to come to the house during the very first week of 2021~! He looked it over and scheduled me into his already busy start of the year. Max and his crew tear into the wall by first demoing the steps, once they got to the wall the damage was a lot worse than originally thought. The rim joist, wall studs, wall sill, and even the wood blocks that the earthquake strap from the foundation was attached to were all water damaged, all due to poorly built concrete steps since it did not include any proper flashing to prevent water intrusion. Max and his team fixed it all in 2 days after the demo were done!!!! Now with proper flashing and proper water-proofing! While Max was still fixing my water damaged wall, I asked him to tear into another wall since I also didn't find flashing on that wall, which also have a concrete pad poured right agist it. Thank god nothing bad was found there, Max also added flashing there to make sure I will not run into issue in the future. Max and his crew were simply amazing (skill/cleanliness/timeliness). Everything they have done for my house were perfect! Now I found another minor issue with a smaller exterior wall that also have some water damage, guess who I'm going to hire again? Max and his team! They have earned my business for life! read more
