Jag and his crew helped me moved out of my 4 bedroom home from Tracy to Livermore. We were charged for 5 movers for a fair and reasonable price and surprisingly the move finished quicker than we thought. Everything was wrapped correctly and efficiently with care and Also his crew made sure it all fit in one trip. They filled a whole 26 foot truck from front to back as you can see in pictures. Disappointing and Misleading Experience We had a very poor experience with Desi Movers. The owner, Jagmohan, confirmed a 9:30 AM start time, but on the day of the move the truck didn't arrive and work didn't start until 10:50 AM. No proactive communication was given about the delay. To make things worse, we only found out on the day of the move that Jagmohan had subcontracted our job to someone named Jerome--a person we had never spoken to and were never told about in advance. This complete lack of transparency was extremely frustrating. We had already packed most of our kitchen and several rooms. One of the movers was actually surprised that we did way more than he was told (they were told it will be a full pack and move). We were told the total move would take 5-6 hours, which matched other quotes we received. Instead, it took 11 hours--almost double the estimate. Because of this, no matter what "hourly rate" you are quoted, the final cost ends up being much higher than more professional, reputable movers due to how slowly the job is done. If you value transparency, punctuality, and accurate estimates, I would not recommend Desi Movers. You may also have no idea who is showing up at your home, since jobs can be subcontracted out without notice. read more

We tried to stop payment on these guys do to the severity of the damages and the length of time they took to move us. Unfortunately we didn't get to the bank on time. We were scheduled for 10am to move from San Mateo to Fremont. They called at 10 to say they had truck problems and were running late. Ok, we read the reviews. They are always late. Well... they didn't show up until 1:30pm in the afternoon!! We were quoted $139/hr for 3 movers. Only 2 movers showed up. We were charged the same price!!! They were moving us from a 2 bedroom apartment to a 2 bedroom home with a stop at out storage locker to grab a few things. They didn't have the truck loaded until 7pm at night!! And we had everything packed already except the furniture!!! Wish I wish we had found a way to pack too!!! They damaged absolutely everything they touched that wasn't in a box. Our brand new mattress and box spring, torn. All our beautiful hardwood furniture scratched. I uploaded oodles of pictures. So you be the judge. On top of it all they pee'd all over the toilet seat when they used our bathroom!! Worst movers ever! Wish we had never called them. Please do NOT use Desi Movers. We had an appointment for 1:00 pm. The move was local, within 4 miles. We kept waiting, but they hadn't showed up. The owner, Jagmohan, would not take my calls. In desperation, we started calling around, but no one else was available. Finally, at 3pm, Jagmohan said they were on the way. We still kept waiting. He did not respond to calls/texts. Finally, they showed up at 5pm - four hours late. The workers were tired because they had already done two moves. They were rude, and disrespectful. One man, Saajan, kept dropping stuff and looking at me challengingly. He fought with my husband, saying it wasn't fair to make them work after 7pm. If we weren't under pressure, we'd have told them to leave. They broke a lot of stuff - lamps, furniture, ping-pong table, etc. They damaged the hardwood floor in the new place. They refused to move everything from the old place. We actually had to leave things behind. And they refused to move a lot of furniture up to the second floor. We still tipped them very well because, really, it was the owner's fault. But we still had stuff left over in the old house. The workers were too tired to bring it the previous day. When I sent the owner a strong text, he reluctantly sent a small truck the next day. The workers brought it over to the new house, but refused to take the furniture and washer/dryer up. Move: Hayward to San Jose on 3/17 1)I requested a small truck and gave them my small inventory, they show up with a truck that could fit a house 2)Driver complained about the destination which was established early on with the 'owner' 3)Inexperience driver hit a balcony in my apartment complex and said: 'No worries it's just an accident' 4)Drops night stand and boxes from the top of the stairs and everything goes rolling down; not even a motion to try to stop it and of course no remorse 5)The truck gets stuck in the middle of the freeway and they had no idea if it was Gas or Water!?!?!? So obviously they don't maintain their vehicle. This incident added one more hour to our move Just an awful experience!! DO NOT HIRE or you WILL regret it! I went with them last year and believe it or not even writing a review after was stressing me out..to have to relive the horrible moments. Long horror story short - hired 2 movers to move a studio with literally 5 furniture items( coz fam had moved all the boxes previous day to save time next day). This guy sent 3 ppl of whom only 1 spoke English for us to communicate, spent 4 hours and at any given point there was only 1 guy in sight and the other 2 MIA. At one instance 2 of the guys were not to be seen for an hour and this one guy sitting at home apparently waiting for them. I was WFH that day so it took me a while to notice what was going on...I then went down myself and caught these 2 just sitting on a bench outside my apartment ( I'm not kidding lol). And on asking they said they were stuck outside and dint know how to buzz the apartment?? Goddd it was frustrating as fck! I ended up paying triple the amount I signed up for , along with a crappy service and stress overload! A year later now we're moving apartments again and all my husband and I could think about was to at any cost avoid another horrible experience like last year...there are so many professionals out there for a cheaper price even. Tl;Dr - drivers running late by 5 hours, owner doesn't give a shit about updating customers Thank God I have a week before my actual lease is over, and not today. I scheduled a move for Saturday at 2PM, a week and a half in advanced. Everything seemed pretty smooth until moving day itself. Reading through past poor reviews, I chose to gave this company the benefit of a doubt, which is obviously my own fault. I reached out for an update at 2:30pm via phone call. The owner said he needed 3 mins to reach out to the driver, and would call me back. 10 minutes later, still no update. I give him a call again. He said another 5 minutes and he will call me again. He then texts me for my address (WTF??). 30 minutes later, I text him again, and he says they are busy until 6:30PM. At this point I've completely lost my patience, and I called him with the intent of venting, and rescheduling to first thing tomorrow morning. He declines my call 4 times in a row, and only responds to me when I text him saying I wanted to reschedule. Lesson learnt. I recently used their services (on sept 24, 2018), Jagmohan and Ranjith are excellent and they made my move into new house so smooth and comfortable. They are quick and resonable price, but their insurance will not cover for items they break during move, my 70" TV and 5ft brass lamp is broken and it is not covered by insurance when approached the insurance after long argument with the owner. So I lost $1600 due to these two items. TV is one year old. read more

Couldnt have had a worst experience. They crew (2 people against a prior commitment of four) showed up on time - and without any packing material, and more importantly, misisng the supervisor who had come in previously and done a detailed survey. Called the backoffice and they said they dont have much packing material since all their crews are off to other customers - but he did show up with about 12 boxes and some packign tape etc. This was for a 4 bedroom house move!! In the end, me, my wife, my son, etc had to roll up our sleeves and get packing, boxing, loading the truck. A third person did show up later, and that helped a bit. The crew was very hard working - but by 11pm (and to no surprise) they were done and I let them go, even though we were only 80% done. (And the supervisor told me they cant comeback the next day to finish since they are already booked on other gigs). Good luck if you go with them ... I absolutely had the worst of the worst experience on the move day - despite having done detailed discussion with supervisor etc ahead of time, during the survey, etc. ("Oh dont worry - you wont have to do a thing other than tell us where each box needs to be unpacked into")!! read more

My previous review got overwritten when I posted an update. This business owner is threatening me with consequences!! Shows his overall attitude towards customer service - he could've checked with me and asked for details. This was a move booked for Pleasanton in Oct. 2019 and it was made in my husband's name, Madhukar. We booked these movers well in advance, called ahead to confirm date, address, time as well rates for the move. We were surprised that they gave a start time of 10AM, we've done a lot of moves and most movers prefer to start early and so do we, but it was a local move within 5 miles, so we were fine with it. Come day of the move, it's 10:45 AM and no sign of the movers or even a call from them. When we call, it appears they either forgot or double booked. Initially, we were told the truck was on the way and would get there soon. We call again and we're informed that it broke down and they're getting it repaired. Many calls back and forth, and they now say they can only send a smaller truck. When the replacement finally arrives at 1 PM, it's actually a different Mover, most of whom can't speak English!! Our move went on till 9 PM in the night, the truck had to do two trips. And after they finished, these movers asked for a rate higher than what had already been agreed on. Again lots of calls back & forth to sort it out and make payments. Unnecessary stress and wastage of time for us. read more

They totally messed up ours. they had brought small size truck than we had asked and agreed upon , they got us 18 feet enterprise truck when we had asked for 26 feet truck took 10 long hours for loading and unloading already packed and stacked boxes. it was 2 bed room house left at least 15 percent of stuff could not fit in due to size of truck not to mention the garden plants are left over the handling is very poor . No masks were worn out during Covid they could not assemble tv at least after unloading. Moved last weekend from Fremont to Fremont. They started late because of previous move and it did impact my evening commitment so was a little bit annoyed. But once they arrived ( Dino / Pawan / Suresh ) they got straight onto the job and worked very efficiently. I think sometime the estimates on moves don't work as accurately as they plan and as a result delay happens. But in my experience these 3 skipped their lunch to cover up the time. And Jagmohan made sure to bring the lunch for them. Overall great experience. Will definitely recommend them. read more

Desi Movers moved my things from an apartment to townhouse in the same city, Fremont. They damaged my lampshade and paid me for it however they also damaged my wooden dresser chipping the edge of the front and did not take any responsibility for that. There are other chips in some of my other wood furniture. They just were NOT careful and seemed to slam things. They seemed to linger in the moving and talk among themselves. One arrived very late. It was slow going getting them started with two men, then about two hours later, their third man arrived. They were recommended to us by someone and our experience was horrible. Finalised them in advance for 10AM on Sunday morning, we don't hear from them until 10:30 and then when we call, they say that they are busy and they don't care of their boss did double booking and can they help us move on the following day. We would've had to pay extra rent and take leave from office on Monday, which was out of question. So, that was so unprofessional of them! We had packed everything, all the boxes were outside and ready to move and they bailed on us in a horrendous manner! Thankfully we found another movers for the same price as Desi movers and they sent two people with a truck to move within 45 minutes of confirmation. Excellent service! Jag Mohan ji is such an honest person. His entire team (Dino) was humble, strong and so so polite. Dino & team worked a shift before ours until 4 am and we thought they will delay our move etc. but instead they didn't even sit down and instead found efficient ways to move faster. We moved on October 11th. Our movers were Jagmohan and Sajanpreet Singh. They were very fast and efficient. I just had to tell them what furniture and boxes to put in their truck and they took care of it. Jagmohan Singh was very patient and kind throughout the process. Also, they go out of their way to help you move. My apartment is on the 4th floor and our parking garage entrance was too short for their truck. Nonetheless, they parked their truck far away and came all the way to my apartment to drop off items. They also wore a mask at all times which is good during this pandemic. Don't fall for the pricing liking we did and end up paying twice as much. 1. Hired him for packing and moving on consecutive days. 2. Did not show up for Packing at all and did not answer phone calls or messages. 3. While moving they are absolute worst at coordinating. When I show stuff that needs moving or not like ten times, they made no notes or anything. I actually paid them 70% more than the estimate. Then had to hire another company for 6 more hours to get the stuff left behind by these Desi Movers. 4. Damaged furniture, electronics. Now they look like I bought them in yard sale. I had Desi movers recently move our furniture, luggage and lots of boxes to new house in California. I found them through a family member referral. Mr. Jagmohan was very friendly and responsive to my calls. On the day of move, the 3 movers Preet, Sunny and Sethi came on time and start loading stuff quickly. These guys are awesome and handle loading and unloading very responsibly carefully. They made sure all furniture and mattress were wrapped properly. The price is reasonable when we compared to other good movers on yelp. I would highly recommend desi movers to anyone considering to move places. I want to rate Desi Movers -1 star if there is an option. I hope my review helps someone to avoid worst experience with Desi Movers. We booked desi movers very first in the morning to make sure that they come on time. Mr. Jagmohan promised at the time of booking, that movers will reach at the time. But no one showed up at booking time and Mr. Jagmohan didn't bother at all to inform us. After waiting 30 minutes, I called him and he had no clue why movers didn't come to our place. After waiting another 20 minutes, I called him again to hear that their truck broke (looks like this is the popular execute to cover the shit). No wonder I got a call from his driver telling me that they are at a different job and will come to my place in an hour. That tells clearly how much they care about the customer's time. Anyway, after that, Mr. Jagmohan did NOT take my phone for 2 hours. And after 2 hours, he promised me that movers will come to my place b/w 1:30pm to 2:00pm. No wonder they even didn't come in that window. Finally, I booked someone else at the last minute. Finally, Mr. Jagmohan realized our frustration and offered a compensation of $100 to waste our more than a half day.
