I had a pretty upsetting experience with the movers. I gave a tip but then was pressured into tipping a certain amount. After I tipped the requested amount, the movers pushed me again a couple times for more. They got the job done but how they went about some things was unprofessional. read more

However, when I tipped, one of the workers came back to ask me for more, saying that in their texts, there is a required tipping amount. I was never informed of that. Sub level satisfied with these movers. Originally scheduled for a Wednesday but got a call on Sunday evening if I could reschedule for a day later. At first I was disappointed, but at least I get an extra day to pack. Movers showed up about 10 min to late, I had to message Claire to confirm again if movers were on their way. 2 guys showed up, the way they parked their big truck was questionable since it would block my neighbors' cars. I had a feeling it would cause some disruption. Both wore masks, one of the guy didn't have gloves on. Regardless, I showed the movers my boxes and they were very efficient using their dollies at good speed. A few of my furniture dropped from one rushing. Things were going alright until it came to 2 items: my bed and my OLED TV. It took them 30 minutes to disassemble my bed. They had to pause a few minutes to move the truck since my neighbor needed to move. All I know is when my bed as assembled by the furniture store I purchased it took 2 people 15min to assemble it. While boxing my thin OLED TV the mover disregarded my instruction and soft wrapping I put around the TV. He used a power drill to take the stand off when I told him "please do not use power drill on this thin TV!" He kept saying "I know, I know." My heart hurt. While unloading at the final destination they damaged a bit of the wooden steps that already had some chipping. Some ding on the door frame and my furniture. And bare hands touching my OLED TV, they disregarded my instructions on removing the TV out of the box. And proceeded to use the power drill to install my TV stand. The full move ended at 3hrs and 40min, the guy rounded up. Had I known he'd round up then I'd have them move more heavy boxes for me to hit the actual 4 hr billing. I was given 2hrs billing prior to appt confirmation and extra 30min increments for billing. I was really hoping my move from a 1bd to a 2bd place would take 3 hrs. Knowing the extra time it took for them to disassemble/assemble my bed and hitting 5min of traffic I didn't expect them to round up. I heard good things about this place from friends, but from my experience I would hesitate to recommend them. I'm sure these movers are experienced and know what they were doing. However, for me I didn't feel like my stuff was treated with care or concern and I had more anxiety seeing them work. It's a learning experience for me. I wish there was a ZERO star review. I hired Express Moving 4-U for the second time. I had good experience during the first move. I appreciated the moving guys hard work and gave them a big tip to each guy. This time, it was HELL!! Booked ahead, time 1-2pm on Saturday, confirmed final arrival time 2pm. Then called me that it'll be 4pm. Then texted me that they won't arrive until 6pm. I called immediately to refuse more push back. They didn't offer to reschedule next day but told me arrival time NO LATER THAN 5pm (3 hours late) but they ARRIVED PAST 6pm (more than 4 hours late). RIDICULOUS!!! 2 guys showed up in an old truck with "no roof" in a rainy weather. It could rain anytime!! Took 3 hours to pack 1 bedroom with all boxes FULLY packed, while I was leaving my living room furniture (couch, coffee table, futon and rug) behind because I was going to donate it. TOO LONG!!! All I had was 2 chairs, small dining table with 4 small seating cubes, tiny wine rack, 2 bookshelves, office desk, a dressing table, 2 end-tables, 2 pieces of wall art, bed mattresses (NO BED) and my new TV. One of the guy was handling the TV very roughly and rushing to pack. I told them to slow down. I have NO idea how this guy put my TV upside down as I had stepped outside to drop off some stuff in my car. Then I was holding the flashlight because it was almost 9pm when they finished loading. Other guy was about to crack my wall art when wrapping it, and I had to intervene again and told him to be careful. They finished UNLOADING PAST MIDNIGHT, yes, the move I scheduled to start between 1-2pm on Saturday was completed past Midnight on Sunday for 1 bedroom apartment. I was helping to unwrap some other stuff so they can assemble my TV and dresser without rushing into it. Once I checked everything and found my BRAND NEW TV was BROKEN. The TV I just bought exact 3 months ago! The main guy immediately STARTED BLAMING ME that I broke the TV before this move. Seriously!! I did NOT understand that how they can think that I'm leaving a nice living room furniture behind to donate, but I chose to break my brand new TV and decided to bring it with me!! I told the guy that I want the damage to my TV addressed in your paperwork. He kept blaming me and started BECOMING RUDE. Then asked me to sign on a folded paper without showing the entire paper what's written on it. When I requested to see the paper, he refused. I asked if I can take a picture of it, he got angry. Then he THREATENED ME that he will take all of my stuff with him back in his truck. Then asked me for tip. I told him that I am not giving a tip to someone who's threatening me. I told him to leave immediately from my apartment. He got more upset and refuse to leave until I sign on one of the corner of that document without me to read the document and without addressing the property damage. He basically KEPT ME HOSTAGE, THREATENED me, BLOCKED MY MAIN DOOR, PUSHED ME AROUND WHEN I tried to walk by him to use the restroom. I had to call 911, and POLICE INVOLVED. Once cops instructed him, then he agreed on everything what I initially requested him which was a basic request for addressing the damage done during the move, and able to read the document before I sign!! Per discretion of officers, I decided to speak the moving company's manager to take care of the payment and the damages to my TV. It did NOT END here. I called the person I initially contacted to make the booking about the incident. First she blamed me for everything, then said the owner is out of country so she can't do anything but asking me to pay for the service. I told her I will pay for the service, I'm not refusing it and that's why I am calling you to address the damages and the charges. I requested her to send me a formal written proposal of how they are going to reimburse me for breaking my new TV, and send me a quote on what I owe them. I provided my email address right away to sort it out professionally and peacefully. I did not hear from them since. I called 3 days later, sent a text, called 5 days later. The same lady started blaming me again, making excuse of her owner being out of country, then THREATENED me "you can go to court if you want" whereas I've been asking this to be resolved professionally and peacefully. They were available on short notice and their communication was clear from the start. For me, though the date of service was fixed the time was not as it was a small job that only met the minimum required of 2 hours. When they expected delays they clearly communicated with me but ended up being on time as originally planned. The gentlemen who showed up for the move were great and didn't whine or complain and did everything we asked. They wrapped everything very well and completed the job on time. The whole end to end moving experience from quotation, setting up moving schedule and the whole moving itself was smooth and quick. Price was very clear upfront on the cost per hour (minimum hours required), mileage charge and tips are listed via txt. Once my husband and I accepted the terms, the moving date was set and the worker with a big moving truck showed up on time. The workers had limited English capabilities but everything went fine as they also understood some simple instructions. Beware... The lady that answers the phone is abrupt and rude. Yes they quote you cheaper prices, however they will try to get you at the end. The guys that came were non customer service oriented..when we asked them to move stuff and/or load it they seemed very bothered. You are working for a moving company, that is your job. They take care of wrapping the stuff which is why I will give them 1 star. However, at the end they forced a $78 tip on us. Forced. We were giving them $20 a piece and whatever else they charged, but to give yourself a $78 tip because you feel like you are entitled to it is not fair. We just moved the first of August, and it was a nightmare. The moving company we hired . . . well that is another yelp. Express Moving 4-U was the only thing positive about this move. The first move was everything out of the house so we could stage it. Two guys showed up on-time moved everything to a storage unit in less than two hours! The next move was everything back into our house - same thing. Two guys, on time, fast, efficient, and not one thing was broken. Because the movers hired for the move were totally incompetent, we had to once again call on Express Moving 4-U to move what they left in my house back to storage. Now, that we are more than 3,000 miles away, we have considered calling on Express Moving 4-U again for help with our final load. I like this company because they are professionals. I have used them three times already and they have never let me down. They arrive on time (always) everything is expertly pack with bubble-wrap and moved to the truck in record time. Express Moving 4-U is not expensive, they do not get paid enough for what they do. My only regret is that I couldn't get them to do my entire move. Next question that popped up, "you had one week of packing time , what were you doing ( ok have two infants -!) what a audacity to pose such questions !! Amazing No-fuss (and no-time-wasted) Moving Experience Needing help with a rather-short-notice (2 days) local move, I jumped onto Yelp looking for local South Bay (Fremont, CA) movers. Near the top of the list was Express Moving 4-U. As always, I'm surprised at the extremes of lavish praise and equally lavish dislike in the reviews. I filled out the form on Yelp and almost instantly got back a Yelp message to call their number. While I was initially a little put off that my Yelp quote request wasn't read, Claire quickly understood what I needed and quoted me a very fair price -for 2 men, 3 hours, and a truck -- noting both the overage charges and customary tip amounts. We proceeded to communicate via text message in a way that might not make every person feel comfortable that this was a professional organization, but I felt more assured by the quick and clear responses I received and the verification request I received (via text) the next day and the address exchanges. At the scheduled time, we arrived at the designated spot and the moving truck was there waiting. 2 men popped out and we began our short moving adventure. Truth in advertising, these 2 amazing gentlemen mostly spoke Mandarin which we do too. This was great for us but, again, might cause others challenges. Nevertheless, the movers were TOTALLY prepared with packing materials, tools, great skills/experience and effectiveness. They helped us move the stuff we needed out of the storage facility and into their truck -- taking care to not damage anything and to help us get the storage container repacked effectively. We drove and unloaded at our destination. The guys were just as amazing on that end too. We ended up going over 30 minutes, but only due to the job just taking that long. The guys couldn't have been any better. All in all, I'd recommend this company 100% and would use them again tomorrow -- though I might suggest someone who needs a lot of hand-holding that this _might_ not be the right choice. read more

I absolutely loved my experience. Two men crew handled my heavy and some bulky furniture amazingly. They didn't waste one minute and they wrapped every piece that needed care including mattresses and bed frames. They put together the furniture that needed assembly. I gave them a little over 20% tip and they seemed very appreciative. In some reviews I read before, customers complained that the movers weren't happy with the tips. I think for the work they put in for 3-4 hours a 20-30% tip is very reasonable. The tv stand / dresser is the same thing. It was one item that was damaged that i did tell you about. The check you claimed you sent. You never did. It's been months now and no check was ever received and i have proof of text messages that i sent you and phone calls that i dialed and no response from you what so ever. The elevator was literally not in use by anyone else but us, so the fact that you are lying on a public forum is ridiculous. There was no need to pre arrange anything with my leasing office when the truck was placed right in front of the building where it's meant for moving. It's a designated stop for movers (so again a lie). Me living on a 3rd floor and having an elevator should have made things easier by all means. They literally carried it out on dollies and had no issues with timing besides the fact that they wanted to talk about me and my child and waste my time. The reason they were requested by me was because they moved my coworker who didn't have an elevator from the second floor to another second floor apartment within 2 hours. So please, acknowledge the fact that you guys scammed me and that this company is a joke. You didn't even acknowledge the fact that your employees were talking crap about me and my son in a different language having no clue that my son understood. Amazing job. Called a week before move from an ad found on Craigslist to get a quote. All of my questions were answered and I felt confident we were gonna go with them. 3 movers for 85 an hour with a 3 hour minimum. Best rate I found after calling at least 10 other places. The lady I talked to was very polite and knew what she was talking about. So our move was a two part move, unload a storage unit in Milpitas then unload a 1 bedroom apartment in San Ramon then move it all to Livermore. Team showed up on time at 8am in Milpitas and got to work promptly, they only took about 30 minutes and we were on our way to the next stop. 30 minutes including wrapping some extra stuff. The San Ramon move took around 45 minutes to get on the truck. They had a lot of furniture to move and wrap and a single flight of stairs to move down, but still made really good time. The offload to Livermore was smooth as well, they moved the heavy furniture to locations requested without argument and got it done quickly. Loaded everything else in the garage as requested. The 26 foot truck was perfect and they secured everything perfectly. Moved quickly and only nicked and scuffed a few items, but not that badly. The movers didn't really talk that much, which I liked, and we're all business. All moving supplies were included, i.e. Tape, wardrobe boxes, shrink wrap, blankets, etc. Move took around 3.5 hours and had to pay for gas... All in all very affordable and a good experience for using my first moving company. Highly recommend for time, quality, efficiency and professionalism!! read more

Our move went absolutely fantastic thanks to Express Moving 4-u! My husband saw their truck near our home in San Ramon and on a whim called them to see if they had availability on our move-out date and they did! They were super fast, responsive and kept us in the loop as we approached our move date. Come move-out day they showed up ON TIME (Hallelujahhhh!!) with 2 guys and a truck + supplies to help secure the oddly shaped things. We moved our upstairs 2 bedroom condo from San Ramon to Dublin in 3.5 hours and the home in Dublin has 3 flights of stairs.. these guys were FAST. And on top of it, nothing broke, no damage, and they put things in the correct rooms. The only part that was annoying was they took almost 45 min to get from San Ramon to Dublin on a weekend, w/ no traffic.. being that they charge per the hour this was aggravating to me. We got over there in 10 minutes and left at the same time. I would still recommend them - coming from someone who used to move every year and has dealt with a multitude of moving companies, they've been the best! read more

Recently moved 2 bedroom worth of stuff from Newark to Fremont (no living room furniture- no sofa/dining table). They did an ok job, nothing above or beyond expectations. The job took less than 3 hours minimum they require. They weren't able to assemble my bed citing that part of frame had to be removed. I ended putting it back together myself. But to my surprise they asked for a 20% tip (it's actually written on the invoice they present you at the end and they circle it and state that's usually what people tip us). Called then a few times got all different quotes. The lady wanted me to text her details the text were never received, I would call her and she wouldn't answer. Called from another number and she answered. Finally agreed set a date and time, the night before I became VERY sick and called/texted and canceled with covid didn't want to take any chances. No one ever confirmed the cancellation and someone showed up to my home to move. I advised them that I canceled and they were no longer needed. The lady who I have been talking to called me and was very rude yelling at me, telling me how wrong I was and that it was BS that I canceled and wasted her time. By the time I tried to speak she had hung the phone up in my face. I was shocked but happy and grateful, I didn't deal with them. I would never recommend this company to anyone. read more
