This review is for the set up process for moving. We ended up going with a different moving company, just because we had put a deposit down. I really wanted to go with Great Wall, but my husband ended up wanting to go with a different moving company. Lily and John were incredibly responsive and helpful. They were transparent about the whole process and their rates were incredibly reasonable. I'm actually bummed that we didn't end up going with them, but definitely would consider them in the future. Great Wall moving offers the most competitive price in the Bay Area. We used their services for packing and moving. The best part of packing is that they have large boxes that they can take back so you don't have to end up with a lot of boxes at home. Of course, this means keeping's things decently organized so you can put them away as soon as things are moved. They did a great job with the wardrobe transfer as well. All items were carried in the hangers and set up properly. We had a fully functional house at the end of the day and big thanks to Great Wall movers! The only drawback, if I have to call it out, is that all items will be put on top of each other in one gigantic box. So if things leak, that's kind of expected. So making sure that you have organized your items before asking them to pack it. Overall, highly recommend their services. This was my first time using movers. And it was a very nice experience. I estimated that they would get the job down to move a studio apartment in 4-5 hours. However, they did it within 2.5 hours. They also offer one of the best deals in the area. I compared a lot of other businesses and Great Wall offered the best price. This by far the best service and were recommended by a friend. The team arrived exactly on time. They were professional and polite. The movers were also very fast and I was surprised they were able to complete my move in 5 hours. I moved from a 2 bedroom and they pack up, drove 45 minutes to the destination and unpacked in 5 hours! It was a 3 man crew. I also had an extremely heavy marble table that they were able to move without any damage. In fact, none of my items were damaged (unlike my last move). My new mattress arrived. How times have changed! It arrived compressed in a box that weighed over 100 pounds. I couldn't even lift it off the floor. I contacted Great Wall Moving, who were super quick to reply, give me a quote, and would show up that evening! Two gentlemen showed up. They muscled that box up 2 flights of stairs without any problems. Not only that, they cut open the box, removed the plastic packaging, and placed it on the frame for me. I was very happy with the service and wish Id thought of using a professional mover sooner, so I could have been sleeping on my new bed much earlier. Definitely the best bang for your buck in the Bay Area. I got a quote right away when I submitted a request. They were very responsive and upfront about the cost which is 2 persons per hour is $X, more person will cost more, $65 travel/truck fee, and $10/person/hour tip. We go two persons who were able to assemble and disassemble our refrigerator, laundry machines, and more. They also packed everything carefully to ensure no scratches scuffs. For 4 hours for two persons (our house was only a few min away from each other), including tip, we paid about $565. Plus side is they were efficient and worked hard - no time was wasted in between so I didn't feel like they were trying to stall time. They tried their best to avoid making scratches/damages. No big damages at all. However, since our new home is two story, the method of carrying large items like washer/dryer needs to be improved. They currently use dolly/cart, no straps, so the wheels would mess up the carpet each time the dolly would go up a stair. We had some minor marks on the carpet, the machine was so heavy it lifted part of the carpet. Nothing major since we did pay for the lowest price we could find. We appreciated the workers' hard work and effort. Better methodology carrying heavy/large items upstairs would be helpful. read more

They gave the best quote of any moving company in the bay. Charges hourly for two movers with 2 hour minimum and fee for the truck. My friend was moving from San Jose to Fremont and they got all the big furniture and heavy items moved in a quick and efficient manner. They were able to disassemble and assemble. They made sure the furniture was covered and protected, as well as the doors and walls. Something I didn't even think about that they were able to solve quickly was the couch being too big to fit through the door. We originally bought the couch from ikea so the boxes were easy to get through the door but during the move it was only disassembled to two pieces and one of the piece couldn't fit through the doorway of the new place. Thankfully they were quick problem solvers and used the patio entrance to get it inside. Very honest people and they even came earlier than expected. Made moving pain and hassle free. I've moved a lot and this was one of the more pleasant and smooth moving experiences I've had. They arrived on time (8am slot) and worked quickly. They did have a hard time finding the house (they passed the house) but I texted them and they showed up shortly after. I think the one thing I think they can improve on is that they could have used a roll out carpet to protect the floors. I paid with Venmo but they have other payment options as well.
