Personally, I cannot say enough good things about this salon. Always spot on clean, friendly. Lanae is off-the charts amazing with her skill in color and talent at cut. I'm not sure what negative reviews could possibly have seen, perhaps they were simply unhappy people as a whole, because I've been coming here for years and have NEVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED. I'm giving it 2 stars just because they were nice if not I would be giving a 1 (atleast when it comes to hair styling). I went in for a possible hair appointment & the ladies gave me a recommendation of a stylist. I asked for a simple updo and the stylist asked for pictures which I gladly sent & she replied with "awesome" she asked me to have my hair washed and dry before my appointment because of the time crunch which is no big deal at all since i made my appointment 2 days prior and i suppose that's a bit last minute. I asked for the price before my appt ($75) which I thought was bit steep for an updo but I thought well if it's that expensive and she's asking me to have my hair washed she must be good. WRONG. I feel bad for the lady honestly because she said she's been doing hair for a long time & was even a cosmo instructor and I think she tried her best but if I've learned one thing from having my hair done is if your ask for an updo and she doesn't style your hair at all prior to starting the updo just get up from the chair and walk out the door because you will more than likely hate it. I knew I should have just left when I had her start over twice and then began explaining to her how she could possibly do it so that i would like it. Bobby pins & hair spray was all she really did. I think she curled like a few pieces with a straightener after it was in the bun. I kid you not when I sat in my car and closed the door 2 pins fell out of my hair. I'm not sure how that was supposed to last all night at a wedding. I paid $75 dollars just drive home, take it down and do a better job myself. Don't go here for important events lucky I had time to fix my hair but it could have easily ended up in a disaster. You're better off just looking up hair tutorials on TikToK. Ladies are nice but yeahhh nice doesn't mean they're good at hair. Sorry for the bad review. Asked for a flowing updo & got a hair-sprayed bun. read more

I really like DeRusha Salon for many reasons. For me it was an "accidental "visit, and I couldn't be happier! 2 years ago I played golf tournament - a fundraiser for Ronald McDonald House ( Tucson chapter),and one of the door prizes was a gift certificate to DeRusha Salon. I was afraid that after 2 years the gift expired, but Michelle honored it, and did a wonderful job cutting and styling my hair . I left the place very happy ( with enough leftover money for another haircut...). I like everything about this salon- wonderful, friendly atmosphere, great costumer care , and the fact that they support a great cause helping families in need. I definitely found my favorite place. I found this saIon but will no longer be going. The family (yes, there are there three) is unprofessional, the salon is a mess, and they are constantly talking poorly about people. It's like being in the middle of a family drama but not wanting to hear it. One of the owners actually vapes during her services without regard to what any client's feelings may be!!!! They can't keep anyone good, and I'm assuming it's because of the family dynamics in this place. I'm giving it 2 stars instead on 1 because the haircuts by the main owner is actually good. read more

I have been going to DeRusha for a couple of years now. There is not one negative thing to say. Laura has always done my color. I am blonde and she does high and low foils for me. My color comes out as I hope every time! Michelle cuts my teen sons hair and he REFUSES to see anyone else. Prices are extraordinarily reasonable and being in there feels like I'm sitting somewhere with good friends, or even family. They are the kindest bunch of ladies ever! Pam has done lashes for me and she's amazing. In fact, I am not very brave so it was a big deal. She was kind, explained the process, and it was a nice relaxing event! My entire wedding party went to DeRusha and they made us all gorgeous! It was an unforgettable day with photo-ready hair, thanks to all of them! My favorite part is watching the way that Michelle treats people. She truly has a gift for kindness. She has the ability to chat with just about anyone, and she is a genuine person! That can be rare to find, and that's what I would equate her and everyone there to - a hidden gem! read more
