I booked an appointment with the nail artist there, Kenzie (kiwinailsbykenzie). She offered free sets so she can practice and when the time came for my 2nd appointment, she tried charging me $60. Then the nails she did on me previously, broke my pinky nail in half. When I told her about it and asked for a soak off for the rest of the nails, she said she won't do it unless I buy a new set. I found Feisty online, looking for someone to style my hair, not just cut it. The reviews looked good and I picked stylist Susan from the website and her info. I called and left a message at the number listed. When she returned my call, she must have thought she was calling someone else as she asked if this was so and so. I told her I had left a message and wanted to make an appointment, so we did for a Saturday a couple weeks out. The day of the appointment, she called and was sick so she had to cancel and that she would call me to reschedule. It's been over a week and I have not heard a word about rescheduling. In my job and my experience, customer service is a necessity if I want to keep my job. Apparently this is not the case for Susan, she must have enough clientele that she does not need new ones and she must not think that anyone at Feisty could use a new client - even a referral to one of the other stylist would have been acceptable. Too bad, I am an excellent tipper when it comes to good service. And now, because of Susan, I won't try anyone at Feisty. read more

I'm not going to lie: when Tara my former nail technician at Nails Go Round quit I was bummed; Tara did a beautiful job. I tried Emily with the same salon. Most of the product ended up on the paper towel and not on my nails; in addition to that, the acrylic started to break off and under a week one nail had come off completely. I cancelled further appointments with Nails Go Round and took off the set that had been on my nails for over a year. So I tried a relatively new salon where the old Hancock Fabric used to be: Orchid Nails. My tech was fast and spoke little English. I can deal with that, sort of; I take my e-reader with me for those reasons. What I can't deal with is regular nail polish instead of the gel polish I picked out. What I further can't deal with is the manager calling me a liar and asking if I was sure I had been at Orchid Nails. Well, my bank statement says Orchid Nails. You know what they say: if quacks like a duck and acts like a duck, the chances are good that it's a duck. I never went back to Orchid Nails. I tried Nails by Yen. Loved it, aside from a few minor details. But mainly, it's too far relatively speaking; I wanted something closer to home. I tried US Nails. There are times I wish I was allowed to carry duct tape for the obnoxious clients that seem oblivious to how uncomfortable they make others feel; ah well, that's protected under the first amendment mind you. Still, in terms of fantasy... Anyways, aside from rude and obnoxious clientele, I couldn't communicate with the nail tech very much. That disappointed me. And I still wanted something close to home. Well, that's why Yelp exists in part. I searched again. J Braun Salon doesn't do acrylics at all. Scratch that. The next on the list with an impressive amount of stars was Feisty Studios Salon and Spa with a nail technician named Annie Thai. Why didn't I find Annie after Tara quit? I could have saved myself this lengthy and frankly stupid review of past mistakes had I found Annie after Emily. I tend to forget that the area I live in is technically unincorporated Marana aside from the pesky detail of the post office being in Tucson. At least the one that serves my area. But I did locate Annie and she is awesome. Totally sweet and accommodating and very accomplished in her career. I left with gorgeous nails and a second appointment. Best of all for me is that I can communicate with her and we were able to swap stories and chat. I highly, highly recommend Annie Thai. You won't be disappointed! read more

I don't know how to feel about this salon, i got extension in and they looked pretty good, the color match was really close to my natural hair color, but they only stayed in for a week. On the first day of having them two fell out but we went back and they just put them back in but they kept falling out and the sticky tabs weren't working anymore and so i only had them in for a week before they all feel out, 150 for nothing. read more

I was recently down in Marana, AZ visiting my mom and needed to get my hair done for a special event - I found this salon online and chose them because they were located very close by and they also had good reviews. I can honestly say that their good reviews are well-deserved. It's a small but welcoming salon, the folks working there are very friendly. Sequoyah gave my normally coarse and unruly hair a beautiful blowout with some soft curls, I love how it turned out! I got a haircut from Stephanie and she was awesome! She also specializes in hair extensions and will teach you how to make them look good in your hair. The salon is lit with a lot of harsh lighting but there are windows along the entire front half to let in natural light. The staff are friendly and helpful. read more

I was nervous to try a new salon but based on the other recommendations on Yelp I called and got an appointment that very afternoon. I had an excellent haircut with Susan. She knew just how to cut the style I was looking for. We hit it off from the beginning of the appointment. She was friendly and kept the conversation moving along without those awkward silences where you feel like you should be talking, but aren't. The rest of the staff was friendly and I was even happier to see they were collecting food for the food bank and Christmas gifts for needy families in the community. Way to go, Feisty! Because I have not lived in the area very long and my friends who would give me recommendations all live in another part of Tucson, I checked on Yelp to find a place to get my hair Highlighted. After checking many places I selected Feisty. They were able to make me an appointment in a timely manner, which I really appreciated since I really needed help. I was happy to know I would have Stephanie since I had read she is great with highlighting. She really did an excellent job with the color and the styling afterwards. Normally I don't have styling done because I prefer to do it myself. But she wanted to see how the colors looked dry. First time I have NOT had to restyle when I got home...she does great work and everyone there was very nice. The time flew by and I ended up with very shiny, beautifully colored hair. I am a snowbird and when I returned to the area this January, I was sad to learn that my regular nail tech of several years was no longer at her previous salon. After much searching and a bit of mostly unsatisfactory experiences, I found Annie Thai at Feisty Studios Salon & Spa. She is delightful and specializes in acrylic nails. She has done my nails three times and has done a beautiful job for me each time. I have her use gel polish over acrylic for my fingers. The polish stays shiny, my nails stay intact with no lifting. She also does a lovely pedicure. She's easy to talk with, pleasant and professional. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a great nail tech. read more

This salon is very small and very unassuming. There are no frills, no bells or whistles. But from the moment I called to make an appointment to the moment I left with a new haircut, I was blown away with the level of service and skill. The husband and wife team owners are amazing.
