A bar that is as German as Red Lobster is New England-y, tee hee. It does capture what I could imagine as an Oktoberfest beer hall vibe for someone who's never been. Dark wood and brick interior, picnic style tables (great for groups), blue and white banners evoking the Bavarian flag with circular chandeliers. Standard pub fare, the sausage was OK it could have been from Congregation Ale House or Dog Haus palatable but not memorable. The soft pretzels were nice but I found the dipping cheese to have a off putting bitter taste to it, sure the gimmick ingredient was beer... but I would have preferred plain cheese instead. Horrible acoustics, really terrible place to have a conversation even with people across from you, you get to practice your lip reading plus smile and nodding because you have no clue what they are saying. Random bonus: On the night I happen to go Jagermeister was doing a promotion so they were handing out free shots! Service was terribly slow, because there were just two bartenders and they have to serve everyone at the bar drinks before they take your order for food. We're Monday regulars and the bartenders are always super nice and funny. 2020 Update: Emily is the best bartender there (Delilah is amazing, Jose is cool, Kashi is alright). She sometimes takes a while to get you your drinks but it's because she's working hard as fuck. She's so nice and sweet and if you leave here to go to Barney's because it's crowded and Em is busy then you're an idiot and you suck. She's the only reason I come. When asked about the IPA beer she had no idea. Ultimately she had to ask another waitress if she knew what came on the food. The food came and it was okay. After our first round we waited about 20min before we had to flag another waitress down. My friend asked for sauce for her burger and it never arrived. Lastly, when I went to the restroom there was a drunk guy standing near the restrooms being very vulgar and disrespectful to me and other female patrons however he seemed very friendly with security so the behavior was allowed. This place is Fraudulent!! WARNING!!! I saw bad reviews about over charging people and how bad service was but I decided to give it a shot . Where do I even begin ?? For one the waitress literally didn't know the menu , a few minutes go by and we decided to use the restroom , where there was a drunk guy being disrespectful to the point that my boyfriend got into a fight with him about an hour later , we had to leave because security sided with the other guy's group & wanted to jump my bf. I left without closing the tab but my other friends got a copy of the receipt, which I noticed they over charged the round of beers we had, which I was not fuzzing over it due to the circumstances ,but as of today I checked my balance to make sure no other charges were made and to my surprise the restaurant added about $50 extra on top of being over charged for beers. I made reservations here for 12 people, to celebrate my Birthday and it was scheduled for brunch (12-5 pm) on a Sunday & we showed up at 3 and stood till 9 pm. Came here for the 49er watch party. I had made reservations, when we arrived we were told our reservations were for the patio. Not what we wanted but figured we were already there and the game was about to start. While ordering drinks were told we had to order from the "patio drink menu". The beer selection was limited and of course the beer we wanted was not on the drink menu. We were told we could go to the inside bar to order beer there but it would probably take forever...the food was cold and took a long time to come out. We canceled some of our orders.... It was a good time watching the game with fellow 49er fans but the food and service was disappointing. Maybe they were understaffed and not prepared for a crowd that large.... And I did not like that depending where you were seated determined what you were able to order. The manager did comp some of the food. I jad a pretty good meal here. The bar and eating area are perfect for celebrating with friends and family. Customer Service is 5 Stars! They have cucumber in them so if you are not into that, just ask the bartenders for normal water. I ordered the beiwagen drink because pear brandy sounded good. I asked the waitress if the drink would be strong and she said yes. It came out and it was tiny so I was doubtful...when she came by again I said I still did not taste the alcohol and she said not to worry because it was there. Another couple of minutes later, I finally finished the drink (it did NOT taste good, so it was a pain to finish), but no headchange or any signs that I had just finished a drink. My, do I wish a place like Der Wolfskopf was much closer to where I live, as I'd be a frequent patron each week. The interior is just like the beer halls, numerous benches and Bavarian flags draped around the space. And there are plenty of televisions for your sports viewing pleasure. For groups, I believe there is also a selection of board games to play. Order at the bar for both food and drinks. The bratwurst I had was good. I think this is one of the few places that offers a bun closest to the kind of brotchen served with sausages in Germany. The pretzels aren't so bad either. And the beer, oh, do they have one of the best selections of German beer on draft. The well known ones (Ayinger, Weihenstephaner, etc) and a few other Kölsch and Schwartzbier. They do have some additional craft brews and a full bar available though. Seems like a good place to hang out in Pasadena. read more

The tables were wobbly and sticky and the waitress did not even ask or attempt to wipe them down. We ordered bottomless Mimosas cool they kept them coming. However if you finished a plate they would not remove the plate nor would they even check on you if you were done so you just had a bunch of empty plates sitting in front of you and they would take an hour at most to move them. The food was decent and the tacos were good however it came down to the service and the waiters or waitresses. My buddy ordered a beer and it took 30 mins for him to get his beer. I asked for water and it took 20-25 minutes for water. The pitchers of beer are expensive and the service was horrible. I definitely wouldn't go back.
