We decided to try hot Depetrillo's pizza recently. We already know about the party pizza, red and white, and the calzones. Oh, and the dough works itself nicely as well. Although there are tables, it's pretty much a take out place. It was a Saturday night, and in 30 minutes, we picked up our pizza, all pepperoni and olives on half. Plenty of each topping, sauce was good. Delicious!! Picked it up hot, ate it hot. We will definitely order hot pizza from Depetrillo's again! read more

Won't be returning here. Was here on 8/17/25 @ 12:30pm. To pick up pizza strips. First off I noticed they had pizza chips but they are not crunchy. Every container I checked were soggy. Secondly, the young girl behind the counter was very rude. I asked her some questions and she acted as if I was bothering her. She even gave a eye roll as she turned her head and gave a somewhat quiet huff. Very poor people skills. This was a one and done. read more

I used to go here all the time (10+ years) but they changed hands recently and have gone WAY downhill. The quality of the product is terrible, old/dry/tasteless. You can just tell they are prioritizing making money over customer satisfaction by selling inferior goods. Save your tastebuds, and your money, and get your pizza from Wicked Good or Dave's Marketplace (both of which are locally owned). Side note - Please remember that this place got a bunch of similar reviews about quality, the owner then listed this location as permanently closed to get rid of reviews, and then brought the business listing back online. Shady way to deal with bad feedback and the last thing I want to do is eat something from a business that conducts itself in an underhanded manner vs getting better. read more

Great thick crust pizza! Most people don't even know they serve hot pizza, but they do! They have a large rectangular pizza. My favorite is pepperoni, mushrooms, and spinach with extra sauce. The sauce is fantastic and there is always plenty of cheese. They also have a small hot circular pizza, cold pizza strips, and calzones. read more

Use to be a go to spot, over the years the cleanliness in the shop has deteriorated greatly leading to a complaint formally filed with the Rhode Island Health Department. So many better other places around since the decline of their quality of food. Staff is attentive, but the owner should have more care. read more

Our transition classroom visited Depetrillo's as part of our RI Town Tour last Friday. We stopped to pick up their infamous pizza strips (some of our students had never had pizza strips before) and ended up buying pastries as well. The food was excellent and the service was wonderful. They surprised us with free samples of their hot pizza slices! We'll be back next time we are in the area! read more

Weird place. Came in because it is listed as a pizza shop. We ordered a small one topping pizza and was told it would be a half an hour. We did place the order but then switched out what we were getting to a pre made calzone so we avoided the wait. They seems to specialize in calzones because there are a lot pre-made. That being said at 1:30 in the afternoon the calzone we got didn't taste all that fresh. I also heard someone else order and ask about extra sauce on the side which they said they don't have. That seems very odd for a calzone place. I guess the calzone was ok, but the overall experience was odd. We stayed in to eat (AC was not working, but not their fault) and the tables were all sticky and kind of dirty which seems weird since ever one else that came in for take out. Go there now for pizza. I needed to stay one night in the area. Worth the wait. The pepperoni is the bomb and I am fussy. Light, crispy and curled! The whole package is fabulous. I ordered a small and could feed many. The sauce is fabulous and the toppings were plenty. Glad I did my research and came here. Oh, and pick up some fabulous pastries while there as well. Things have improved over the last couple of months and the quality and size of the calzones has improved to where they were in the old days. Pro Tip; Cut them into quarters and put them in the air fryer when you get home for 4 minutes at 400° and try them then. Perfection. Big difference of late. It seems the cutting corners has ended. That's good. Oatmeal raisin and M&M cookies are good as well. I'm not sure why they stopped making the pizza chips that they used to make. Those were good and always an add-on. Pizza strips and hot pizza remain great as well. The hot pizza is an underrated great order that gets lost with some of the other local places who specialize in pizza. read more

Stopped in early this week, 1st time since the renovations. Looks good and nice to have a few tables and chairs to be able to enjoy the fresh calzones there. I really enjoy the dough they make for the calzones and pizza strips. The dough has a nice crust like texture. The others have a dough that's too soft and too much like bread. 2 chicken parmigiana 2 spinach 1 Italian 1 meatball 3 strips of pizza For $26.00 Pretty good deal. read more

We love depetrillos. We get pizza here almost once a week. We also love grabbing day olds for lunches. The lemon blueberry scones and grab and go white pizza strips are amazing. Can't recommend it more Enjoy read more

Very underwhelmed in a land full of amazing pizza. Too overdone, crust was too hard, and too little sauce. How do you not offer sides of marinara? Also, the store was basically empty, so I couldn't see their other offerings. There are too many other great places to venture here. read more

Lucked upon this place en route to Cape Cod very much by coincidence! We had an hour to kill so we ordered a large 'Pie' & waited the 30 minutes for it to cook... we wondered why the long wait? The answer came as a massive 5lb feeling slab of pizza landed on our tabletop... the heat was deep on this baby. We loved the sauce, the crust & my husband was really loving the 'crispy' Pepperonis. Bakery pizza, it's a Rhode Island thing. Some may argue it's called part pizza or pizza strips. No matter what you're calling it, Depetrillo's is the place to get it. Their storefront itself isn't anything to write home about. It's your typical hole in the wall family owned shop. They don't offer seating, and are strictly a take out establishment. They have had the same sign in the window that declares " sorry about our appearance while we are renovating." for months, and I haven't seen a single renovation. What's important here is the pizza! Their sauce is thick and perfectly sweet. The dough is so fluffy and soft. I'm drooling just reliving the memory. While the pizza strips are my favorite, they also offer whole pies, calzones, and a couple other items. I highly recommend getting a party box for your next event. Stopped into this place to give it a try. The one in Coventry is in a strip area so it blends in and I often forget it is there, which is unfortunate. They serve things up like a bakery, so lots of things behind glass. You get to look and drool. On my trip, I had some Calzone and was convinced to get some of the pizza bread. Only having been here for a couple of years, I had not actually understood what that was. The gent was more than happy to explain. Now, I see it everywhere. Kind of like buying a new car. You never really notice how many there are until you buy it then you realize they are all over the place. Anyway, I though it was good but I am not a huge fan. I have tried them at other places and I think there is probably the best, but still not something I would order on a regular basis. That being said, the Calzone was fantastic. The pizza my wife and daughter got was rally good as will. We will certainly be going back. read more

Man old man I would call me in my husband a pizza connoisseur! We try to stay away from commercialized Pizza - Papa Johns! :-p . We love supporting local businesses especially when it comes down to Pizza! We literally have pizza tasting nights with friends it's a great time! This place is where it s att for pizza HANDS DOWN!!! Called to order pizza and calzones for my daughter's birthday party. As I was trying to give my order the woman on the phone kept interrupting me and saying, "We always have that," after everything I said. Once I got to a calzone that apparently they DON'T always have she was willing to listen to me. Then when I asked her to cut the calzones and arrange them I was informed that they don't do that. The attitude was amazing and apparently I was upsetting her by trying to give them my business. So apparently, if you want food for a party you should come in the day before to pick it up and arrange it yourself. Why don't I just make it myself too? I ended up hanging up and calling the Warwick store that were in complete contrast to the Coventry store friendly and accommodating. read more

Depetrillo's has always been a solid pizza place but now with the on-going renovation it's even better! We picked up a large pizza with meatballs, pepperoni, and sausage and it was cooked perfectly, well seasoned - tasted fantastic! We also picked up some pizza slices and they were amazing as always. They have added a few.tables for sitting and it's s real open space- looks great! Highly Recommend. read more

The party tray is genius! Just pizza sauce on medium thick crust! At first I was skeptical about just regular pizza sauce over pizza dough, but the sauce is anything but regular. It is full of flavor and has a sweetness that cuts the natural sourness of tomatoes. At one sitting I had about 5 squares from the party tray and I wasn't even hungry at the time! Highly recommend it and one of these days I'll try their calzones! read more

I long for birthday, christmas and grad parties so I can buy a full sheet of this sweet, sweet party pizza. While one side of my family prefers crugnales, my Coventry faring family swears by depetrillos. Always have slices and boxes available, even if you don't pre order. I grew up in Coventry and this was my go to spot for Pizza strips and calzones. I love the buffalo chicken, chicken parm calzones and the pepperoni and cheese spinach pie. Whenever I go back to Coventry I always stop by for at least 1 pizza strip. Very friendly. Toppings, sauce and cheese were excellent. Crust ok, but that is because I prefer thin crust wood fired. Got 1 vegetarian pie for my wife and meat for me. Depetrillo's has been at the same location in Coventry for as long as I can remember. The pizza has been the same year after year. It's always hot and delicious and very unique. I loveeee their eggplant calzones definitely one of the best I've had from anywhere. The prices are not bad and the service overall is good too. There is another location in Smithfield as well but I will always love the Coventry one better. read more

This is probably one of a handful of places in Coventry RI worth mentioning. Lived in this town for 26 years and now moved to South Boston area. Everyone here thinks I am crazy for mentioning a pizza with out cheese called party pizza. As a kid I grew up on this stuff and as an adult I stopped here frequently for a lunch break. Place is small and it's not really a bakery they are known for their party pizza, spinach pies, and calzones. The sauce for the pizza is sweet which is nice because of the lack of cheese. Also they do have a white option which is basically just bread, oil, and seasonings. They are the same price which seems a little to much for just bread. Also the white strips are hit or miss some days they are the really good and some days they are way to dry. The calzones are super greasy which makes them tasty but very unhealthy, it's a nice treat once in a while. Get lots of napkins. Pros: Cheap place for lunch that is not a fast food joint Nice Italian food spinach pies, calzones, party pizza Cons: Avoid white strips dry and overpriced. Tips: Always ask for a corner they are the best strips. read more

I love this place. But if you're open till 9 and i call to place an order at 8 you should still be open. If you say you're going to be open you should be open. When I was a kid working in food service if we closed at midnight we closed at midnight then started cleaning the food service equipment until 1-1:30am, we didn't just stop serving food an hour before closing. Unassuming bakery with a good selection of Italian bakery goods. Pizza and Calzone, that is. We often stop here for the party pizza whenever we are in the area to visit family members. It comes in full sheet, half or quarter. It is pretty much pizza bread with a thick layer of sauce, much like a sweetish tomato paste. It is really cheap too. read more
