My husband, John, and I went to Santoros last week and this was the first time in years we sat there and ordered food instead of taking it out. We had their amazing NY System hot weiners and the best and biggest order of French fries we've ever seen. Everything was delicious, but the BEST part of it all was our server, Kayla. What a sweetheart and the most sincere and beautiful personality ever to grace the insides of a restaurant. She told us she worked there for over 20 years. We were craving weiners and stopped in for lunch. It's a small restaurant, not fancy but definitely loved by the locals. Our server was friendly. I decided to get two weiners all the way; it's a hot dog in a bun with mustard, chopped onions, and meat sauce. It's so good! I also had the clam chowder which had thick pieces of clams in it. The prices were affordable too. They also serve calzones, pizza, fish and chips, grinders, seafood, and more. The meal was very disappointing overall. We ordered chicken wings, a meatball pizza, clam chowder, and veal parmesan with pasta. The chicken wings were cold in the middle and slightly red. The meatball pizza had a nice crispy crust but lacked any real flavor. The clam chowder was gritty and tasted like the milk had curdled. The veal parmesan appeared to be ground veal formed into a patty, and the pasta sauce tasted more like plain tomato paste than a proper sauce. Santoro's in Coventry is really, really good pizza. Crust is always perfectly golden brown, cooked perfectly, buttery and delicious. Sauce is fantastic. Sweet and flavorful. They also have the best Hot wieners in the area if you're interested in those as well. Super nice, friendly, local people working hard in there all day long. Everything is done fast, friendly and at great prices. Driving home with it in the car. I don't know that I've had a better smelling Pizza for air freshener in quite some time. Santoro's has been around a long time and sometimes people forget about them but if you give them a try again, I think you're going to find it might be the best pizza in the area on any given day. read more

The food was wrong, Takeout - Got home pizza was ordered pepperoni with !/2 the normal cheese it had half peperoni with cheese & half light cheese no pepperoni. Sandwich was suppose to be hot oven it was not and the roll seemed stale as the crust was hard and crumbly. The kitchen manager said it couldn't be stale they get it fresh every day. If that's true then this roll was left on the counter all day. It is not as good as it use to be. The best thing we got was the hot wieners. It's a small pizza establishment right when you enter Coventry. It's a cute place to have a slice pizza in the building or for takeout. Not a lot of seating due to COVID restrictions but that's to be expected. One of my favorite pizza places to go and would recommend it to others. read more

Really angry that this place ripped off my 85 year old mom. She got the bill and noticed a .70 "cc" fee. They had NO IDEA she was paying with a credit card or paying cash. After we paid (yes, with a debit card), they added ANOTHER dollar to the bill for using a card. I will never come back to a place that is 1) untrustworthy, and 2) has poor business practices. My daughter and her boyfriend went in there tonight to pick up a large pizza they ordered. My daughter gave her bank card and some how the employee dropped it and then said she couldn't find it and that they should leave and they would find it and call them back sometime before 9 once they found it. They asked what do you mean?? that's my bank card, it has all my money on it. The woman said they had other customers and didn't have time to look for it. My daughter went outside and called me and told me what was happening. I told her to go back in there and tell them you are not leaving without your card. Just visited today. It is a little on the 'needs a face-lift' side of things from the outside. The inside is not overly comfortable either. Very 70's fixed in place booths. The service was good. They serve both Coke & Pepsi products, all be it in cans. But you actually have a choice. The family and I decided to spread it around. Hot Wiener apps, the wife had a Deanna Burger and I had their Calzone. The burger was really good (I only had a bite). The wife really liked it and she is hard to please. I loved the Calzone. It was one of the best I have had. It was packed with the cheeses and meats and the crust was fantastic. The Hot Wieners were not NY System or Wien-O-Rama, but they diner quality, which is to say not too bad. Over all I am a fan and will return. A couple weeks ago I went with a friend + we got sandwiches-- the eggplant parm + buffalo chicken wrap. they were so gross we couldn't finish them. hard/cold/tasteless....i also got the chicken noodle soup---which was always awesome ---but this time it had nothing in it but broth....great. 3. I've been ordering the Greek Salad from here for over 2 years with no onions + topped with turkey deli meat...BUT WAIT FOR IT...... all of a sudden yesterday 'they never do that' + 'refuse to do it'. ok. that makes sense. what?!?! you have it right there JUST PUT TURKEY INSTEAD OF CHICKEN ON TOP and TAKE THE ONIONS OFF. its not that hard. why would you refuse such a simple thing and be SO RUDE ABOUT IT? its not like I was asking you to go hunt down a turkey, kill it, cook it then put it on my salad... I used to like this place a lot. Until they decided that they could no longer put extras on their salad, even though this had been the norm for many previous visits. It does not seem to me that they have any interest in keeping new customers. Customer lost. Perhaps this will be a wake up call that adding items that you already have on hand should not be such a break of protocol. I'm sure that any other place in Kent County will be happy to add something from another page on the menu. I do hope that they will correct unreasonable practices such as this one, because their salads are delicious. read more

My son-in-law and daughter came down from Phillipston, Ma to collect on a good deed he did for me. They don't have weiners where they live and they are one of his favorite RI foods, so we ordered take out from Santoros: 10 weiners, 1/2 doz. clam cakes and one small order of french fries. I haven't had a weiner in about a year so looking forward to eating one. What a disappointment. The clam cakes were so tough and burnt you couldn't bite into them to try to eat them. The fries were almost as bad and the weiners were very dry and bland. If we had ordered in the restaurant they would definitely have gone back and a fuss made. But, since it was take out, we paid for food that was uneatable. I would never recommend them to anyone.I guess the fries and clam cakes were left overs that they cooked again. If you're getting pizza in the West Warwick/Coventry area this is the place. I've never eaten in (the place does need an interior re-do), only stopped to pick up. The parking situation is a little underpowered. There are probably 6 parking spots and on a busy evening they're all taken. If you go, be careful that you don't back up into anyone. What I really care about is the pizza. They do it justice here. My wife and I always split a pizza down the middle (Pepperoni v Sausage). The sauce isn't too tangy or too sweet, it just sits in the tomatoey (just made that up) middle. Never too much sauce, or too much cheese, which allows for a well balanced pie. Santoros is your classic town pizza place. The place hasn't changed in years, and I like these types of restaurants. I've been eating here forever and I've always thought their food was good. The weiners are great, fries are perfectly crispy and the menu has everything you would expect from a little joint like this. There are a few booths to eat in, not a huge interior but it doesn't feel overly crowded. The staff was fine in my opinion, decently friendly and the food was done within decent time. They were kind enough to not only freeze them, but made arrangements to have me pick them up on a Monday morning on my way home to philly when they are closed. I'll make this a stop on every trip! Used to love this place however it has gone very far downhill. I stopped to eat in and had to put up with a loud and obnoxious wait staff and cooks in the back which were spouting off curse words and racial slurs. The food was mediocre, I ordered some hot weiners and some fries, the fries came out cold and the buns on the weiners tasted stale. I will not be eating here again. 4% charge added to any transactions using credit cards. When I pointed it out, the staff told me it was for "the privilege" of using my credit card. I cannot recommend any business that punishes its customers for using a convenient payment method. Your credit card fees are not my problem. Owner needs to learn to have some respect for their customers and not take every opportunity to wring extra money from them. Pizza sucked too, but I will never come back because of the poor attitude. i have been going here for YEARS. the friendly girls at the counter always say hi, ask how i'm doing and make sure i've got everything. i ALWAYS tip when picking up an order knowing how hard everyone in there works even if i'm not getting delivery. recently the friendly women at the counter have been replaced with people who are clearly extremely not happy to be there. the last time i went inside to pick up my order, i noticed the cook wasn't wearing a mask. at all. not even a neck gator pulled down to make it seem like he is wearing it sometimes. my meal was incorrect and i had to wait for the rest of it for almost 20 minutes. during this time i decided to wait in my car rather than watch OAN blaring from the tv . i get home after waiting there for twenty minutes, watching the rest of my order go cold and soggy in their styrofoam boxes, only to realize that there's no marinara for the soggy mozzarella sticks-which has been sitting there, without sauce the whole time. after thinking about it-i just don't think their food is good enough to know the person making it is breathing all over the food, maskless -watching OAN- probably thinking it's ok. it's not. i'm done. what happened there u guys!? read more
