You don't just stumble into Pizza Nomad at the Center of New England. You're probably making a Walmart run, picking up mulch at Home Depot, or getting dragged into BJ's for a "quick" thing that turns into 84 dollars and a tray of muffins. But if you ever tried it, you might find yourself pulling in. Just for a slice. Inside, there's a couple of tables, steel chairs, gray walls, and a full suit of medieval armor in the corner. Because, of course there is. The decor feels a bit like it's still under construction and not quite ready for prime time. The place just feels comfortable though. It knows what it's doing, doesn't need to even tell you about it. No exposed brick, no fancy bulbs, no ironic signs. Just pizza. And...the chips. Oh man, the chips. The surprise of the chef just coming out from the back to set down a tray of fresh, still-glistening potato chips. Doesn't say a word. Doesn't have to. They're super hot, they're impossibly crisp, they're perfectly salted. Not a gimmick, not a side dish you ordered. Just a way to say you're appreciated. Then the pizza comes a few minutes later. It isn't Neapolitan floaty. It's not a bar pie. It's somewhere in the middle. The crust's got that perfect char and blister, crunches at the edge, and stands out straight. It's kind of a hybrid of a crackery bar pie and a New York style. On the thin end of medium thick. It's built for flavor, not engineering. The cheese is front and center, but it's not a sloppy mess. It's balanced. The sauce cuts through clean and bright. And the pepperoni? Those little curled cups, glistening, with just enough spice to remind you why it's a classic. Nothing's fighting for the spotlight. Everything's working together. You can taste the thought that went into it. You eat it slow, not because you're trying to be fancy, but because you just want it to last. One pie is enough for two hungry people, maybe three if you're being polite. And the staff? No scripts. No fake cheerleading. Just real people moving like they've been doing this for years, and concerned about getting it right. They aren't polished, they're just nice. Across the street, another pizza place stares over at Nomad. And honestly, with that knight standing there? It feels like a budding culinary Highlander situation. There can be only one, Nomad. And for now, Nomad's got the high ground. The food's good, the welcome's warm, and those things add up to something that you remember. Go for the pizza. Stay for the chips. Try it and let me know what you think.

We will be back and I highly recommend trying the Pizza Nomad if you're looking for a new pizza to try!! First time. Glad we chose to try this spot! Plenty of tables. Nice and friendly staff. We ordered a pizza and got the kids slices while we waited. Loved the fresh warm chips they brought to the table!! Pizza was well made - cooked perfect, nice and fluffy crust! Also there's two large tables for a larger group!

I've tried pizza from this place three times in the time it's been open. I understand they have only just opened in the past month which is why I held off on leaving a review after my first few experiences have been negative. We had high expectations for this trendy pizza place offering an assortment of unique pizzas. My husband and I ordered pizza for a game night on the first night they opened. He called two hours ahead of time, but still had to wait 45 minutes when he got there. My husband said it was busy and chaotic. After he picked up the pizza and brought it to our friend's house, we were horrified to find a sticker on the underside of one of the pizzas. Our friend had taken a bite, and immediately spit out bits of paper which turned out to be an adhesive label on the bottom of it. Not sure how that got on the bottom of the pizza. We didn't call to complain, because we knew that it was incredibly busy that night. The second time we ordered pizza was a couple weeks ago. I ordered a vegetable pizza with spinach and several other toppings on it. The pizza was overloaded with the toppings to the point where it felt like I was eating a plate full of vegetables with a side of bread. I couldn't taste the white sauce, and there wasn't a lot of cheese. My husband ordered a gluten-free pizza. Because there aren't many pizza places in the area who offer gluten-free pizzas, we tried them again. His pizza was pretty good. The last time we got pizza was a few days ago, and we ordered the fried pickles and the nachos as a side. On the positive side, the portions were huge. On the negative side, they were grossly overcooked. We ended up throwing them out. We've been to the West Warwick location and have had better luck there. I sure hope Coventry location improves. I don't like to leave negative reviews, especially for a business just starting out, but hopefully they learn from their mistakes. We probably won't order again from them for at least a year so they can iron out the details and become better established. At that time, I'd be happy to update my review.

If you haven't tried the gooey cheese fries, you're missing out! Would love to add a pic, but we ate them all.

We have ordered multiple times and have not had a bad experience yet. Each time we try a new pizza, our favorite so far is the General Tso.

Marinated bamboo skewers brushed with yakitori sauce, I had; Bacon Leaks, Meatball, Kielbasa, and Shrimp You get to choose 4 Sticks and it's served over White Rice Drizzled with Yakitori sauce, THE BEST Asian fusion, EVER!!! Hubby had the Kim Chi meatball soup, the meatballs are so huge, it's a big bowl of soup, not for those who aren't hungry! We also, for good measure, got one of the signature SCALLION PANCAKE PIZZA!!! It's Topped with scallion and your choice of the following: * Meat Toppings*: Chicken, Beef, Pepperoni, Salami, Kielbasa, Bacon Bits, Salami * Pizza Toppings Olives, Banana peppers, Jalapenos, Tomatoes, Mushrooms, Green Peppers, Red Onion Make sure to get it with the yakatori sauce! His dad ran a well known and established Chinese restaurant in town until his retirement recently, he'd been in business for 50+ years!! The space is clean and comfortable. I love their bubble tea and I love their pepperoni cheese egg rolls! Those are the primary things I get here. I love me a good bubble tea and they have really good flavors (lychee has been my go too lately), and the egg rolls they are delicious! Me and my fiancé went inside to grab 2 bubble teas the other day. There's enough parking which is great, and I believe they have karaoke in the evenings around 9:30pm ( we haven't tried this yet). The owner is very kind and attention. They've always been kind on the phone and in person as well. They only lose one star because the ambiance was a little off. Customers seemed to stare as if we had twenty heads, but the owner didn't act that way. But that's the reason why it lost one star I felt very uncomfortable and out of place. And as much as I loved it on the inside I doubt I would go inside to eat after that weird feeling.

It was something else before (we visited for RI Food Fights #LordOfTheWings some years ago) but the establishment is under new management with a revamped menu. As a wife of a veteran, it is always wonderful to support a veteran-owned business. They wear their service on their proverbial sleeves. Everywhere you look, there is a tribute to our heroes. Hubby is a fan of meat on meat on meat pizza so we ordered the Cardiac Special - pepperoni, sausage, meatball, bacon & ham. There was a good amount of meat, pizza held up to the weight of the toppings & it was very tasty. I was in the mood for chicken strips & we ordered Garlic Parmesan & Nashville Hot. For former was nice & garlicky, the latter was spicy but not killer. Large juicy pieces of chicken that were lightly breaded. I want more! That evening, Flat River Tavern was hosting music bingo. The dude running it came up to us as we sat down to invite us to play. We weren't interested but it was fun to listen to the music for the game. The restaurant always has something going on - live music, food specials, DJ trivia.

Flat Service, and a River of disappointment…read more I had high hopes as my brother had mentioned he had been here a few times and really enjoyed it Went here after watching a game with my father in Saturday. He is 82, and I'm no spring chicken either. The place was moderately busy, but definitely not packed. We found seats at the bar right away and sat down. We were immediately treated (assaulted?) to the sounds of a warbling guitarist on furlough from a nearby assisted living, dutifully plucking out misaligned chords along with a voice that would make RFK Jr. sound like Pavarotti's protege. She worked through several tunes from her hippie-esque youth, which seemed a a stark contrast to the overblown MAGA-licious decor of the place. Dad and I sat at the bar, ignored for several minutes while we watched the young woman bartender chat with and serve several other guests. This included people who had already been served drinks and meals. No "hello". No "I'll be right with you", just chatting and chatting and chatting with two guys halfway down the bar and pouring beers for the folks who still had what was left of their first (fifth?) beer in front of them. It was then that we saw another man behind the bar walking towards us. And I thought, "oh, this must be his part of the bar, then. Surely he'll greet us and pour us a beer." NOPE. The guy gets to about three feet from us at the bar and turns away from us to face the wall, remote in his hand. He's not a server, he's the 'change-the-channel' guy. A task he performed with all the skill and charisma of a WalMart greater on work release. That's it for me. I'm 10 minutes in and no one has even acknowledged that we were at the bar. I tell Dad we're heading and we both stand up to put on our coats. The grinding sound of the chairs sliding back across the sticky floor must have inspired the lone remaining customer service neuron in the Flirty McTownie's bartender brain because as I was putting on my coat she managed to slog her self over to where we were to ask "Hey guys, can I get you something?" "We're all set" was pretty much the only response I could muster that wouldn't have included a torrent of curses and insinuations regarding questionable parentage. We left Honestly, unless there's no other choice, drive the extra 6 minutes into town. There are much better bars and restaurants with much better service, Old Theater Diner or Black Oak among them. Frankly, you'd probably get better service at the hot counter at Dave's... Probably better pizza too... Though we wouldn't know.
