This place is seriously terrible. Do not eat here. The service is horrible and the food is terrible. The servers become irritate when you ask them for things that your own server should have provided you with. The food is horrible. As we speak now it's making my stomach hurt. Just stay home and cook then to go here. I don't even want to pay for the whole crappy service start to finish. I may have seen my server daeshawn maybe a total of 4 times. Had to ask for a refill when it should be the server asking would I like a refill. I would never step foot into this place or have her as my server ever again. I have been to many Denny's throughout my life so when my boyfriend offered to take me here or to take me Ted's Bulletin, I had second thoughts when he opted on the "new" Denny's. All of my doubts were quickly erased when we stepped foot into the restaurant. We were greeted and seated in a timely and friendly manner. Our waitress was attentive and our food was really good. I know you can expect to get the same food at any Denny's but both of us were impressed by our meals. I had one of the healthier options and it had plenty of flavor. The restaurant was clean, and the atmosphere was friendly. It did not feel like any other Denny's I've ever been to and that's why we went two additional times. I really enjoyed all of the great music they played on all three occasions. I know you are probably thinking, can this Denny's really be that different? The answer is yes!! read more

The one star goes to the waitress. The service was the worst I have ever experienced. A homeless man of the street came into the restaurant walked around to the few tables that were there and asked for money, when he got no satisfaction he proceeded to the table in the back and started eating what should have never been left on the table anyways. The cook must have ditched his job cause the manager was cooking for everyone, which cause everyone's food to be cold when it did hit the table. There were only two tables seated when we arrive at 1 am, one of them complaining which should have given me a heads up. Don't even call your food in you wait forever for that. read more

My fave late night spot in the area (although there aren't many). Love Mozeak(spelling?), the waiter. Always pleasant. Good food and fresh. Excellent cooks. I like that they have more dinner options than say, Ihop. read more

Terrible service. Walked in at 1130. Nobody spoke to us (not even drinks) for 15 minutes. 20 minutes later, they brought out ONE of SEVEN plates. 15 minutes later, no one else's plate has come. Spoke with a manager, barely got two words in. Just avoid here if you can. read more

Dispite good day service, the late night staff does not perform their duties up to par. Late night staff was ran by A Hispanic male acting as manager. My kids and I stopped for breakfast on 12/21 around 11:30. Everything was hot and good as usual- kids got slamwhiches, my cousin had the Philly chicken melt and I had a grand slam with chicken sausage, eggs and whole wheat pancakes. Our waitress was just adequate. Everyone said their food was good- the only thing off was the whole grain pancakes...they were terrible. Thank God for Antonio (Who wasn't our server but was a great help, mainly due to his tenure over our brand new server who will remain nameless.) I wish I could post the video of my order to this because it looks NOTHING like how it is depicted on the menus. I mean granted everything is embellished and/zooshed up for marketing and advertising's sake however the reality of what was on my plate looked like a drunken attempt that was anything but appetizing. Last night our server could do little to accommodate, and in comes Antonio to rescue. He listened to my issues with the meal and immediately went to kitchen to let Pedro have it for BSing my meal. It still wasn't right unfortunately, but I'm starving and the food is cheap so this is a battle that my taste buds are just gonna have to take an L on. Came here on 04/30/2017 around 1:30pm with my family. When we walked in, there was no hostess at the front. We waited about 10 minutes for someone to come put our name on the list. The wait wasn't too long to be seated, but once we got to the table we sat there for literally almost 30 minutes and not one server came over to our table. There were people seated after us in our section and when the server finally came over, he started at those tables first. At that point, we got up to leave because we were fed up. We stopped on the way out to talk with the manager, but he acted as though he was too busy to care. read more

I love this Denny's as much as I love "brinner" (breakfast for dinner). The wait staff tend to be young but very polite and eager to learn. The management personnel are older and do a great job. The place is clean, service is quick and with a smile. Love love love the Motown music, adds flavor and represents old DC (as the area around this location is starting to gentrify). Very accommodating to our vegetarian swaps for other things instead of meat. We became fast regulars and apparently have our own booth! Who doesn't love that kids eat free after 4pm? Denny's beats IHOP all day, everyday (except for blueberry pancakes which Denny's doesn't serve). read more

Will never go there again! Music was being played too loudly. Keeping in mind, that there were only six other customers already in the place. After being seated and waiting for around 15 minutes, no one ever came to wait my table. One of the customer seated not far from me who had apparently being there waiting before I got there, had not been waited either. I love this place! Usually not a big fan of these type of diners but this location is the best. I have only had one occasion when I have seen a server who wasn't so friendly. I have been to many a denny's. This one is far and away the best. The staff was friendly and polite. We had fast service and everyone pitched in to make sure we had everything we needed. Service was horrible but the food is good. I got here about 10:15 am. The hostess was your nice. It took her about two seconds to seat my daughter and myself. After we were seated no one spoke or even acknowledge us until about 20 mins later and it was a server (Kenya). She asked me if I had been helped and after she asked me, I could barely get my answer (by the way it was no) out my mouth before she turns to help a couple across from me. Than it took another 5 mins before I was helped. The next server (Mada) that helped me was fast and polite. She took our order and our food was out in about 15 mins. If it wasn't because I was already out this morning I wouldn't have never come here. But if I do come back it's going to be late night. I get the best late night service. read more

I had the worse service of my life at this Denny's . My fiancé and I were seated and we waited for over 20 minutes before we asked a girl cleaning a table to please bring us coffee and water . She explained to us that because of it being shift change that the girl that was suppose to serve us was refusing to come to our table because she was getting off soon . I had never heard of anything so ignorant . After the nice girl brought our drinks we waited another 10 minutes and finally we caught the attention of the manager . We explained to him that we had been there for 30 minutes and that we had to ask someone to get our drinks and that no one had taken our food orders . He apologized then asked someone to take our order . Finally we were served and in the end the manager came over and apologized for how his staff had neglected to serve us . I cannot believe I experienced something like that . He even said that his employees were fussing over who was suppose to have our table which caused neither of them to come . He was very sincere but it does not change how unprofessional his staff are . I hope they get it together and never treat anyone like they treated us because it was an awful experience. read more

The wait time was terrible, the service was mediocre, but the food was decent for its price. One issue that is paramount: hygiene. I saw a large roach just as I was leaving with my family. It crawled on to my toddler's booster seat. Very disgusting and makes me wonder about the sanitation procedures of the restaurant. read more

So after reading reviews for this place, I was skeptical. I had actually even postponed coming here. However, it isn't fair to judge something based solely on others opinions so I had to try it. I'm glad I did. When I first pulled up, I noticed the clean parking lot and exterior. A good start. When we walked inside, we were greeted by a quite friendly hostess and immediately sat. Our waitress Carla came over and offered suggestions and took our orders. It didn't take long for our food to come out and she frequently checked on us. It was a weekday during the early afternoon so the place wasn't packed, but I feel like Carla would have been just as exceptional busy or quiet. I had the steak and eggs, hashbrowns, pancakes, and orange juice. I think I like this steak better than IHOP. I think next time I'll see if I can get wheat pancakes instead of regular. Will definitely return.....Wait! Almost forgot. On a scale of 1-10, the restrooms were about a 7. Not the cleanest I've been in but not bad. A few more regular checks may not be a bad idea. read more

Corporate needs to hear about this place and get a completely new staff. They are under staffed with little to no cooks. Service is awful. The manager John is good at his job but 1 one man can't do it all by himself. The food would be awesome if they had enough cooks to cook the food and enough servers to run the food out to customers. An order that was suppose to be 15 mins for carry out ended up being an hour and had to be recooked because it was cold. My onions were burnt on my patty melt and hash browns. $18 worth of food if I wasn't out to grab something before work I might as well cooked my own food at home. Most def corporate will hear about this complaint from me. Its shameful this place is down the street from my house and they can't ever be fast on the food with it being on point and get people out happy. We were greeted and seated, then had a lovely 15 minute wait while everyone around us was served. Im sure it works have gone on much longer, but my companion and I got tired of the "we're invisible" vibe staff was tossing. Two waitresses passed us by multiple times as did the fellow who seated us. No acknowledgement, no water, no "I'm sorry, but we'll get yo you," nothing. I wish I could say it was because the restaurant was hopping or perhaps understaffed, but the fact of the matter is we were just flat out ignored. It was almost funny. I work in the service industry, so I know the ins and outs and I'm not at all impatient and I'm more forgiving than the average patron might be. By the same token I also don't waste my time hunting down servers or seeking out managers to bitch. I just take my money and my tip elsewhere. read more

It is in the roughest neighborhood of DC. Therefore, there is no guarantee that your car parked in their parking lot will be safe. I was there to get a regular French fries a few weeks ago. I parked my car in their parking lot in front of their CCTV camera located in their building. Their service is very slow. I was the only customer waiting to be served, but it took them about 15 minutes to give me my order. When I went back to my car, I found that the driver's side window was completely shattered and my tablet, kindle fire, checks, as well as other bank documents were stolen. When I went back and told the servers, they were not surprised at all. It seemed a normal event for them and the only thing they asked me was, "is he still in your car?" I called 911 and the police arrived in the scene and, after he heard my report, he said, "you know the area" (and thus you should blame yourself). The policeman tried to see the CCTV, but the servers said the manager was not available and he was the only person that has access to the CCTV room. The policeman promised me he would go back to the business the next morning when the manager was available and check the CCTV. However, I never heard of anything from him again. That was the most expensive French fries I have ever had - I incurred about $300 to get my car fixed. I incurred another $150 to get a used tablet. I am getting messages from my banks that say they have had unusual activity in relation to my accounts. I am cursing the day I went there. Therefore, my advice is: do not assume that their parking lot is safe; take the necessary caution. read more
