It was busy during the lunch hour on a Sunday, so we got our name down on the clipboard waitlist. It was about a 20-30 min wait for a party of 6, with 6-7 smaller parties ahead of us. The food was good, and portions are very generous! I enjoyed the chicken fried steak over hash browns with eggs. Expect to take leftovers back if you're a small eater. Service was friendly and welcoming. What can improve: interior temp/AC - felt a bit hot/stuffy and couldn't tell if the AC was on inside, though it was better than the 100 degrees outside. Don't miss the dessert case as soon as you walk in. As soon as I sat down, things kind of went sideways lol. I asked for a Diet Coke and I was brought coffee for the table. Ok, sure I don't mind a coffee, that's kinda nice. Then I placed my order "corned beef and hash with a side of biscuits and gravy", was told it would be an up charge; no worries. Plus I asked for my Diet Coke and it was good. They got the nice small crunchy ice! Jess got The King Waffle; comes with peanut butter, chocolate drizzle and bananas topped with whip cream and a side of syrup. Here's the thing, instead of biscuits and gravy, I got served pancakes lol. By this time, business had picked up a little bit so it's understandable she wasn't really able to fully stop at the table and just kinda drop and take the other food she has to the other patrons there. A few minutes later she brought the biscuits and gravy and was also kind enough to let us keep the pancakes, That was very nice of her. They were decent pancakes, very big and covered in butter and a side of syrup. If you love pancakes, you'll love these. Corned beef has was ok. It was the homemade style with chunks of corned beef, rather than the typical diner type aka canned looking version I love and genuinely prefer. Especially when it has a nice crisp on it. This plate didn't come with hash browns but it does come with eggs. I asked for cheddar cheese on top and they came out very good! Fluffy, pillowy, very nice. The King Waffle was thick! They do use crunchy peanut butter, Jess didn't know that, so it was a little off putting for her. We just prefer creamy and the fact that it added an extra texture to the overall flavor can be a hit or miss depending on who you are. The whipped cream has a coconut flavor to it, surprisingly nice. Towards the end of our meal, we had another waitress take over our table and she was also nice. She brought us a container, even went and packaged up our desserts. We asked for a cherry pie and a peach cobbler. Both came out to $8, both were not worth $8. We were given an apple pie instead of cherry, the pies crust was dry and dense. The filling was ok, but something started tasting off in the crust so I stopped eating. The peach cobbler had a phenomenal flavor from the peaches, but once we tried warming it up, something white and slimy was in the middle of it, so we threw that out also. $72 dollars for everything we got. I always say tip your staff cause they're the heart of your experience. They treat you good, you do the same. 15% standard but give you what you can. Overall, I think I'm ready to look for another breakfast spot. I gave this spot so much hype after my first experience. I thought especially cause it wasn't as busy this time, we were in for the best experience! That wasn't the case. I just don't see the justification to pay that much to eat here, when there's other locations that might give better quality and an overall better experience.

There is both indoor and outdoor seating options. Inside they are picnic table style with bench seating and long tables or counter seating near the windows. Outdoors was set up with table and chair patio style seating. Immediately greeted by a friendly employee and after we mentioned it was our first time there she gave us a thorough overview of how it works. One thing we really liked was the customer has the option to select their "signature" dogs or you can create your own using all the toppings they have available via a slip of paper. You just check the boxes of what you want on your all beef hot dog (1/4 lb.), a polish sausage or bratwurst. I discovered afterwards they also offer "mini" dogs, which I should have gotten because they are quite large and my eyes were bigger than my stomach after I ordered a hot dog and a homemade corndog. My daughter got a polish dog and a homemade cheese dog (like a corn dog but using cheese instead of a hot dog). I got tater tots as a side and my daughter the homemade potato chips. All the food was tasty and we'd get them all again, though as I mentioned above I'd probably go "mini" on one or both because together there was just too much food for me. If we go through Visalia again, we'll definitely return.

After having a busy day at work my husband and I stopped by to Denny's on Akers for our dinner date the moment we walked in a waitress by the name of Yessenia greeted us and right away seated us she right away made us feel welcome even though she was busy taking care of other tables that girl went above and beyond to make sure we received the service we deserve she is very out going and she knows her menu very good that was able to help us with what to order since we were undecided with what we wanted and no matter how busy she was she was on point with our refills for our drinks and the whole time we were there we saw her checking that all the other customers that were on the other tables were also doing ok even tho that those were not her tables I will definitely will be going back .thank you Denny's for having such an amazing hard working person you can really see that she loves what she does thank you Yessenia for your service I hope that everytime I go for dinner with my hubby you can serve us again read more

You may be better off left dying of hunger. I don't know what kind of establishment this is, but i in no way respect it. The ladies and gentlemen that were working were blatantly disrespectful AND purposely ignored me. There is no reason why i should have to wait for my pancakes to be cold to finally get served my syrup. When i say excuse me more than once and the staff just smirks instead of simply assisting me, that's when you know they don't belong in the customer service field. If doing your job properly is too difficult you may as well do everyone a favor and go home. You should treat everyone with respect. I am the guardian to disabled individuals, i can not afford to leave them by themselves to practically BEG at the counter for someone's most valuable precious time. Now i know for a fact management cares way for about us and for they i will continue to go there. However, my heart acts at the fact that people can be so unkind... for no reason. read more

Today was my nieces graduation and we had a party of 25. The service was really great. Although there were a couple big parties ahead of us, we were updated every so often on our wait time. That's something we appreciated it because it made us feel welcome and known. The manager Gladis Trujillo on duty was spectacular. She was helpful nice and really organized. We could tell she knew what she was doing. As soon as we were seated, we were waited on quick. The food took a while but it was totally worth the wait. Many servers and other employees came to check if we were ok. They offered drink refills and also offered to help us if we needed anything else. Took our large family out to breakfast after a school Christmas performance, 9 people in total, waited a bit to be seated (naturally for our party size) but our waitress Yessenia A had such a bubbly personality when she came to take our order. She went above and beyond and made sure we had everything we needed and wanted. When she took her lunch she made sure to grab any last minute stuff we needed and introduced us to who would be taking over our table. She even offered to take a picture of our family for us as well, because duh if you don't document it, it didn't happen. 3 kids and a baby out for one of the first times eating in a restaurant since this pandemic started was no easy breakfast experience. Went there today and it was fucken trash !!!! This is new because I've been here plenty of times and this one time I go (as I'm bragging about great service) they disappoint me. First of I don't know what's going on but the staff seems off. The food came out cold. Our waiter came to our table once! When I asked to speak to a manager I got the biggest attitude. The short hair dark Mexican chick who may be a manager or whatever she's a fucken BITCH !!!!!! Her staff is all scared of her. You can tell when she walks in the room people get all nervous. We had a party of 26 people for a surprise birthday breakfast, I called a week in advance and again 3 days before and the morning of to make sure they were prepared for us and they wasn't ready for my guest and I. it was embarrassing to say the least then they tried seating us all separately when I specifically asked to be seated as a group, I had to spend the first ten minutes talking to management and employees just to have the tables arrange when we weren't completely separate. Lastly I had literally two guests who tried to use a coupon they had and were told the system mysteriously updated this morning and they did not allow it. Denny's is a predictable place. Just like any other chain diner, you know exactly what you are going to get. This particular Denny's has that same food from every other Denny's. But this Denny's is set apart from all others. This Denny's has Brenda. Brenda makes the predictable dining experience into a memorable one. Brenda's attitude on life shines through her work ethic. This evening our waitress Yessenia A. made possible for my best friend/mentor and I to have a joyful time during our coffee chat. She was very pleasant and attentive. She prepared a fresh pot of decaf coffee especially for me since they had ran out. Went to this Dennys last night with my family, and our server Myla was amazing! It was around 11pm and at the time she was the only server on our side and she still made sure my whole family had great service, and gave amazing service to tables around me. Her bubbly personality and just overall sweetness made our families night extra special. An extra thanks for also making my little boy feel special for his birthday. Wow. Just Wow!! (The good type of wow). The wait staff and cooking staff absolutely out did themselves. After being a repeat Denny's customer I can say without doubt that this is hands down the best Dennys experience I've had in decades. We came in just after 10pm with a church youth group for an after service hang out. A HUGE shout out to Vanessa and Peter -- they did an incredible job and were both attentive and patient. They got the food out and it was all HOT and FRESH!!! Great job team, we are all leaving feeling even better than when we came in. read more

We walked in there at 1am Sunday and halfway stung our food this things started falling on my shins white tshirt! Baby roaches! I started killing them and we starting packing our food and informed server of situation. He said am sorry and walked away. As we got up to pay they started coming out of our booth chair . Very impressed with this Denny's. I thought it being Father's Day they would be extra busy and wasn't sure what to expect but excellent service was provided! One of the managers, Jasmine came and checked on us frequently. Overall, the service was exceptional and we will now make this our Denny's. We have been to the one in Handford a few times and that place is always dirty and service is horrible. Had dirty utensils and when asked for new ones I was brought more dirty utensils! Disgusting! I usually don't go to Dennys, but today my parents decided to go and just have a quick breakfast. We got sat and I wasn't thinking anything of it. But then this dude Manuel O. comes up to the table and and boom great service immediately, he gets us the honey we ask for he keeps trying to accommodate all of my parents weird requests. My Denny's experience, was a great moment because of a worker named Andrea. She was super nice to me and my friends, and I love coming all the time at night because of her or in the morning. Everytime I go in there everyone has a great attitude and always try's to make everyone feel welcomed. The floors and everything are always so clean, and they make it an amazing experience. Went in for Some grub, had myself the French toast breakfast . Made to perfection it was delicious! Help myself to some scrambled eggs and the bacon was finger licking good. Akers location #7658 - Yessenia A was my server : She was well groomed , friendly and efficient. The restaurant was very busy when I walked in (alone) , she got me seated quickly and was clearly busy but made me feel welcomed. The food was delicious and came to me before I expected. As soon as I walked in I was greeted with a warm welcome from the hosts standing at the front, the booth I was seated in was nice and clean and well lit. My server was very nice and welcoming and treated me very well. The food was amazing and was prepared fast. The Soup was just ok. Lacked flavor, potatoes were non existent and it arrived lukewarm "but that's the delivery drivers fault". For $11.49 we expected better. Key Lime Pie: it was "ok" but the whipped cream tasted warm and the pie was borderline warm as well. Must've been put next to the hot soup. Which in my mind "why?" It's cold pie. Should I not have eaten it, yeah. Did I eat it anyway? Well it was an $8 slice of pie! So yes, I'm going to eat it! It was also small for the price as well. You get a bigger slice of cheesecake at their competitor for around the same price. Lemon Cream Cheese Pie: doesn't come with whip cream "unless you pay for it". That slice of pie was also $8. How does the key lime come with whip but you pay extra for this one!? The picture shows the whip on it which looks good, but doesn't give you an option to pay for it either. The flavor was just ok. Delivery was atrocious! The guy took forever to get there, then took forever to get to our place. It was overall a bad experience all the way around. Thankful I didn't pay the $13 for an order of mozzarella sticks. Overall: what happened to this spot? I know these restaurants are becoming non existent in our small towns and we wanna come try them out. But when you're charging this much and not getting the quality you deserve, well it makes me not wanna come back. Which sucks cause I love a good slice of pie. But not a small slice for $8 that I gotta pay extra for whip lol.

My mother in law love the biscuits and gravy breakfast. Her sister had the make your own omelette, my daughter didn't want anything so she got the pancake by itself then she got some fries. I got the make your own omelette. It came with hash browns. We had plenty of coffee. The food came almost right away. The taste was there. Everything was freshly made and very good. The coffee was good too. The waitress was attentive and helpful. We really enjoy everything there. Even the chattering time. Highly recommend. This is the all American food. It really hit the spot. Ambiance is casual and friendly.

This is the second time this place has scammed me out of money. I go in, place my order, pay with a…read morecard, don't leave a tip, go home and then 1 to 3 days later, I get a message from my bank showing they added an extra transaction to my sale. It's been 1 year and 3 months since I last ate here. I thought I'd give them a second chance but nope, same scam. Now I have to dig through my trash to find the receipt so I can go pay them a visit. Last time this happened, I think it was March 2024. The manager or owner whoever it was told me there's a password on the card terminal that only he can access to re-process sales and that he "accidentally hit a button" that caused it. I call BS. My gut says: never come back here. Once I find the receipt, I'll post a photo showing no tip. If the owner tries to show a receipt with a tip added, then they forged it and I'll demand to see the CCTV footage of me signing that receipt. How does this keep happening to me? And how does no one else ever check their bank notifications? Found the receipt here's the photo. Update: 6/24/2025, 1:00 PM I went to speak with the manager or owner. The lady at the register said they haven't seen the owner in weeks. She told me I could take cash on the spot or wait for him. I was like, "Weeks? Yeah, no. I'm not waiting weeks for my $2.18 back." So I took the cash. I didn't need to play the long game with the bank which can take months or sue for $2 (which, ironically, could later cost the owner hundreds of thousands in court and recovery fees... plus the $2). And yes, I'm that petty. If you know your card terminal is doing this, and you didn't even argue when I mentioned being overcharged then why haven't you changed your terminal or processor in the 1 year and 3 months since it last happened? It's as if you're the one doing it. Trying to quietly score an extra couple bucks per customer. Some might say, "It's just $2, let it go." But if they're doing this to every customer, all day, every day? That adds up. The food is really good and the staff are welcoming.
