Overall this Denny's was fine. We were staying at the DoubleTree down the street and needed a late night bite to eat after dealing with a delayed flight and missed connection. Even though it was nearly midnight our server was attentive and nice. He seemed to be the only one working the dining area but it was a rainy Monday night, so they were not busy at all. He took our orders and brought out drinks quickly. Our food came out quickly as well. My waffle was fresh and crispy, and the eggs and bacon were decent. My man's Super Bird and fries were hot and fresh too. Of course it's not anything luxurious, because it's Denny's, but it was decent and satisfied us when we were hungry. read more

Friday, 8:45 AM. Having dropped off my car down the street I selected Denny's instead of the other fast food options available early in the morning. I was seated immediately. The waiter popped by thirty seconds later. I ordered the Hash Skillet. When did Denny's go to skillets for breakfast. I love skillets, and, yes, I haven't been in a Denny's in over five years. I took the up sell on the OJ and turned down the extra carbs ( e.g., toast, tortillas). The food came about two minutes later. It could be the fastest I've ever received an order from a sit down restaurant. The bill came quickly after the last bite, and I paid at the cashier's station. I hesitate to write a review for a national chain restaurant but since there are other options for Denny's in the area I figured this would be helpful. This is a poor location. The staff consists of all mid 20 something guys who hate their job. While waiting for my food another customer complained that his drink glass had lipstick on it, another server and the cook argued over an order and I also overheard the staff talking poorly about one of their coworkers. The food was consistent with Dennys but not the experience. My server's uniform seemed not to be washed in a while as it was covered in stains (it was only 7:30am and judging by my visit its not like he was working hard). I'll never go back to this location. The Denny's on the 202 and Scottsdale Rd is much much better. read more

Just shut this place down already dang. We came in late Friday night/early Saturday am, and were the only ones there when we arrived. The one and only waitress was in a horrible mood, the food took forever to come, which is understandable since there was only 1 cook back there, she (the waitress) was slamming things down on the table the entire time, the food was COLD, which I don't understand how that's even possible if he just made it?? A few others came in after us and were served before us?! The waitress was unpleasant the entire time, which made it impossible to even mention the fact that the food was COLD, which still makes no sense to me. Zero stars. Disappointing AF. Went in today with my friend out of town. Our server seemed like he was half asleep or high. Didn't ask if we were ready or needed help. When he finally did start to take our order, I wanted to get a value slam today. I don't eat meat, so wanted to substitute the bacon for hash browns. I was told I couldn't do that, and I'd have to pay more for a build your own. I asked if he wouldn't mind asking his manager or cook if he could accommodate me, as I didn't want to pay more and wanted a value slam. I guess I wouldn't of been upset if I didn't see his shift lead bob her bun continuously no. It just seems ridiculous to me that a place like Denny's can't have a menu to accommodate non-meat eaters. Especially cause this has never been an issue at other Denny's establishments. And I get pushed to pay more for bigger portions I don't need. Had this been my restaurant that I work at, we would help our customers in any way they needed, and made sure they left FED and happy. Maybe this Denny's could use a little training in hospitality. Just seemed the manager and server had more fun making fun of me and telling me NO. I caught the mangers name out the door, named EMILY. If you need a Denny's fix, don't go to this one! My boyfriend and I are newly regular here. Our server, Kathy (in case more than one Kathy works there, she's the one with the short hair and red streak), has been nothing short of phenomenal! We walk in and she has us sat in her section, no matter how busy she is. She knows our drink order and food order right when we sit down. Food is great and service is spectacular. We are moving in a couple days to Phoenix, but we will absolutely commute to this Denny's just for Kathy!! read more

I didn't have the greatest experience. I waited 25 minutes for nachos (that weren't good at all) and the place was pretty dead. My server didn't once check on me and eventually just put the check on my table and said "Here you go" and walked away. I definitely won't be returning. read more

My boyfriend and I came into Denny's yesterday morning for a quick breakfast. We were seated after a few minutes of waiting in a clean booth. Our server, Martina, was super friendly and quick to bring us anything we needed. She refilled our coffees before we could finish them and even gave us two to go. Our food was great but having a tentative server on top of that made it even better. We had the biscuits and gravy, and the eggs in a basket. Each meal was on their value menu and our total was around $16. Not bad at all! I'd definitely recommend this location to anyone looking for a delicious and affordable bite to eat. Only complaint might be that the processing time on their card reader is pretty long. They said that was an issue with everyone's card and not just ours. I'm pretty patient though and Martina chatted with us while we waited, so it was no problem to me. Will definitely be back. read more

This is the worst Denny's I have ever visited. I was there with a group of six on December 30. The manager had the double role as cook. The food was cold and horrible, and the coffee was cold. This restaurant really give Denny's a bad name. read more

Went there for breakfast with my wife. Both our eggs were cold and my steak was cooked well done instead of medium. Waitress forgot to-go box for our food within 60 seconds of request. I paid waitress on the way out and told her thanks for the to-go box and she didn't even know she forgot it. We got reminded from this event, that there isn't anywhere good to eat for breakfast in the Tempe area. Everyone is too good for it here to serve breakfast and take orders correctly or even have safe temperatures for their food. If you want to get a good breakfast once a year that doesn't disappoint I would recommend finding somewhere outside Arizona. As far as I know so far there isn't anywhere good to eat for breakfast here but anywhere would be less of a death sentence, even the mcdonalds next door, than this place. Horrible service, horrible atmosphere, horrible food that would make most people sick if they were kids or old persons. read more

Can't say I will ever go back for breakfast. Ordered a simple two eggs over easy, hashbrown and sausage. The toast had so much margarine on it I actually had to scrap it off. The hashbrown looked nice and crispy until I uncovered the over cooked crispy and over fried underneath. I couldn't even eat the hashbrown. The "small" sized over easy eggs were over cooked and had very little yolk. I went to use the bathroom and one of the two toilets were full of toilet paper and shit. There was even a employee in there that didn't do anything about it. When we went to pay, the girl at the counter asked how our meal was and I mentioned the over cooked hashbrown. Unbelievably slow staff, we were told we had to wait 20 minutes, when there were at least 15 unoccupied tables, I asked why and was told, all those tables were dirty. Really? After driving around for awhile, me and the fam decided to go to Dennys. There are menu items that we always order that we like such as the cheese fries and buffalo strips. But this is the first time we had actually been to this Denny's. First we had a 70 year old waitress who was slow as hell, she was acting like she really didn't want to be there, and at her age she probably shouldn't have been. She rarely smiled and I don't know if the food took forever or if she was just slow getting it. The people who worked there were conversing like they didn't have anything better to do. My husband called a waitress like 5 times before she even realized (she was daydreaming). As far as the food, don't even bother...stuff that we had before did not taste the same and it was under seasoned. Except for my daughter's buffalo chicken sandwich that was 2 salty, and barely had buffalo sauce on it. Also when we asked for ranch she gave blue cheese, then we realized that the ranch and blue cheese had been mixed together resulting in a weird blended taste. So basically save your money or go to a different Denny's because this one sucks ass. read more

Been there a couple times and it's always the same story, food takes a little bit close to an hour to come out every time I go; no matter how busy they are. I joke with my friends that if you want to loose 2 hours of your life to go to this location. I have no hate against dennys, the food is usually good but this location always does this. The worst experience ever! My husband and I went to this location couple of times but today it was different. First we waited over 30 minutes just to order our food. We had to call for the waiter to come to our table to take the order. Then we waited over 40 minutes just to get the food. I actually called for the manager to ask when our food was coming. The manager had the nerves to say "be patient" to me in front of everyone. I honestly couldn't believe how crappy the service was and how rude the manager was. When we finally got our food, it was not even cooked all the way. My husband got half cooked turkey sausage and my son got pickles in his sandwich even though we had told the waiter no pickles since my son is allergic to them. Finally we were done and ready to leave. I told the manager how rude he was and he had the audacity to tell me that I should be patient due to them being busy and also that he is trying to keep his temper in check due to him not wanting to go off on his workers. Honestly I have never in my life seen anything like it. I don't know how this man is even a manager. My husband and I will never ever go back to that place after the way we got treated today. read more
