The seasonal drinks are another excuse to keep coming back. They rotate frequently and there's always something by new each time my wife and I stop by so Gailey's never gets redundant despite how old and historic it is. The variety of Bloody Mary's is fantastic and the whiskey adaptations never disappoint. The food is also consistently great! Personally, the skillets or biscuits and gravy are my favorite but there is no bad choice on this menu. Local staple or if you're visiting from out of town, it's absolutely worth a visit over the invading chain restaurants, Gailey's is your breakfast go-to.

It was definitely a change from usual hotel decor, which is never to my style either! It's a pretty large place and is not as cozy as a small B&B. But it's very reasonably priced compared to those. Beds were quite comfortable, more so than most hotels in my experience. We had reserved 2 nights, but had to cut our vacation short due to weather predictions on the route home. We've been to this location several times and every time we go, the service gets worse. Tonight was beyond bad. We went around 5:45 p.m., ordered two adult meals and two kids meals. It took more than an hour to get our food. The kids were going crazy because of the wait. No servers came to check on us or offer an apology or any excuse for why it was taking so long. The restaurant was not busy... probably about 5-6 other tables total. All of them had very poor, slow service, too. We actually bonded with the couple next to us talking about how terrible it was. When our food finally came, my french toast was stone cold. I hardly ever send things back because it's not worth the hassle... I struggled tonight, too, because I didn't want to wait any longer... but I sent it back. The server, Judy, looked at me like I was an alien when I told her how cold the food was. No apology, no words, just grabbed my plate and took it. The entire time waitress Judy huffed and puffed all over the restaurant acting like she was so overwhelmed. They might have been short-staffed, but I still think she could have handled it. She kept yelling across the restaurant "I will be with you in two or three minutes!" Really? Then when she wasn't yelling, she was mumbling under her breath the entire time. I will not be going back. It's unfortunate that Springfield only has ONE Denny's and this is how it is. read more

She was so sweet and checked up on us regularly, going above and beyond seating us in a nice quiet corner of the restaurant where we had a good amount of privacy and were able to talk comfortably with a good volume without worry of being eavesdropped on. read more
