There's nothing like a good Denny's breakfast after a long night of drinking! I came here with a horrible hangover so I needed some good food to help shake off my hangover symptoms. As I walked in I was greeted right away, I was offered a table but I was solo so I decided to sit at the counter top table near the kitchen. Service was fast and I they took my order at a timely manner. The coffee I ordered was nice and hot! Yum! Denny's has so many great breakfast options, I decided to ordered the southwest skillet. It came out nice and sizzling. I love the sound of a sizzling hot skillet! So satisfying! It came with potatoes, onions and peppers and delicious chorizo and cheddar cheese. It was a little spicy so just a heads up if you don't like a little spice in your life. I added hot sauce, the spicier the better! It came with eggs on top and you can choose how you want your eggs. Definitely helped kick my nasty hangover. I would recommend for sure. read more

For quite a few years, our family had an odd tradition of stopping here for 1:00 am breakfast after a late night in St Louis. It used to be good... someplace we used to look forward to visiting. Good food, good service, etc. Then one day, we got assigned to a very poor server with a horrible attitude. Food was still decent. Now the food quality has gone downhill as well. Low quality breakfast meats, all served cold. Service is so-so; I estimate that half the people who work there visibly show customers they hate their jobs. read more

I honestly dont go to places like Dennys with high expectations but somehow they still managed to disappoint. Service was mediocre at best. No silverware no napkins no refills..Our server seemed to be avoiding us. My wife ordered eggs for her skillet 3 times and they never came out right. The 1st time The server didnt bother to ask what kind of eggs she wanted. My meal I ordered jalapenos and pepper Jack cheese I had neither in my omelet... We came to eat breakfast on June 10th. Although Alecia did not service our table, she did have to deal with many challenges from a table next to us. Each of the 4 people at that table were very difficult to deal with and no one could make them happy foodwise. It was very frustrating to watch your girls try to make them happy. As we left to check out, I told Alecia she should get a gold medal for dealing with that table, she was beyond professional and did an exceptional job dealing with very difficult people!! I haven't been to Denny's in forever and twenty years. They definitely updated the interior to look more modern and appealing to the eye. Even though the parking lot was packed, I was able to get seated immediately as I walked through the door. Waitress gave me just enough time before coming over to get my order. The interior along with the prices have changed. I don't remember their prices being this high, but I also don't remember ever having to pay for my own meal either. I ordered All American Slam. Three eggs, two sausage, two bacon, hash browns and choice of bread (substituted the hash browns for grits). My meal was cooked just as I asked. As I waited for my food I noticed the staff working as a team. I normally don't see that in chain restaurants. At the end of the day... yes, I would come back! read more

When they remodeled this location they should have hired a completely new staff. First, food was cold, sloppy manager did not care. Managers should look the part and tuck in their shirts and maybe have customer skills. My husbands waffle was stone cold, my omelette has sat under the light. Manager offered to put in microwave. I asked if he knew what happened to eggs when you microwave them, he just shrugged his shoulders. No offer to re fire. My sons hammy sandwich was just sad. No offers of refills. We had to wave the waitress down for coffee. It seems as if no one cares at all. The cashier was rude. When you spend over 40.00 for breakfast it should be at least hot. The food was mediocre. I ordered the Grand Slam Slugger with a side of grits. My meal consisted of pancakes, sausage, bacon, hash browns and the side of grits. The pancakes were probably the best part of the meal. None of it looked very appealing- the grits were the worst part of my meal. They were the only thing I felt I needed to take a picture of so y'all can see what they try to pass off as grits here. It looked like a bowl of grainy soup with so much melted butter in it. The hostess wasn't really doing her job, there was one man there doing a majority of the work- Stacey. He was nice and polite. He was taking care of about 5 or 6 tables himself while the other waitresses stood around and chatted with one another. Stacey's service deserves 5 stars. The restaurant itself deserves 0. read more

This location in O'fallon, Illinois is the absolute worst at filling orders accurately. Today's order is the second time they incorrectly filled my order. Last weekend they forgot the toast and this weekend certain toppings on the pancakes were missing. So, in a way the company stole from us by not providing what we paid for in advance. And, to make things worst, their attendants were not pleasant because of being understaff to meet the volume of customer orders both online and outside dining. But, in my opinion, customers should not have to put up with inadequate staff and poor service. It is a business which should work to better their situation rather than complain and burden the paying customers. To the owner of this establishment: I implore you to work with your staff to gain improvements for the sake of your customers and the well being of your employees. Do not use the coronavirus pandemic as an excuse but rather a challenge to overcome. read more

Ordered on-line and I received a confirmation it would be ready in 20 minutes. I gave it a little longer because it was lunch time, however, it seemed like they missed the order and tried to make it as I was waiting. I got back to work to pass out the food and my co-worker and I noticed that our sandwiches were missing ingredients. Come to find out, they made regular club sandwiches, instead of the Cali-Club sandwiches that we ordered and paid for. This Denny's in particular is so dirty and greasy it is unbelievable. I thought the renovation a while ago would have helped give the motivation to the staff to keep the place clean, but nope. The glass windows and doors always have greasy handprints. The menus feel slimy. There are always floaters in the drinks- every glass is unclean. The staff could use a bath too and the shaggy hair waiter is always wiping snots from his nose. I love Denny's and I have given this location so many chances thinking it was just a fluke. Over charged by almost $7.00. Am being told that they cannot refund me the money. That we are supposed to come back tomorrow or another day when the General Manager was there? Had to argue with the "manager" in the store to call the G.M. and get us our refund. This wasn't our fault. My wife showed the lady at the register that the order was rung up wrong when she went to pay. The lady then supposedly fixed it and still managed to overcharge us. This was the waitress who rang the order in and then the person who checked us out fault but we get treated like we did something wrong? I shouldn't have had to ask you to call the GM for my refund. Horrible experience. After an hour we left without ever getting our food. The restaurant was only 25% full when our party of three arrived. It took a fair amount of time to be seated. Once seated it took ten minutes for the server to take our drink order. We placed our food order at that time since a fair amount of time had already passed. We ordered nothing complicated two grand slams and a sandwich. The server came by only once with someone's salad that was not ours. After the hour we finally left after notifying the manager that we could not wait any longer. The manager showed no concern nor any interest in what our issue was for leaving. I love going out for breakfast. I was visiting from out of state and it was may last day in town, so my sister and I decided to go to breakfast. Next time I'll know we shouldn't go here. I know there are better places to go, but we were going to be right near here, so that's why we decided to go. The hostess was very nice, and probably the highlight of the entire place. The waitress was slow and very unkempt, almost looking like she'd just rolled out of bed. I'm wondering if there is a coffee shortage because my sister only ever got the first cup and was never offered a second. I ordered a lemonade iced tea and the waitress seemed confused. That's exactly how it's listed on the menu, so instead of calling it an Arnold Palmer, I went with how it was listed. The food was mediocre at best. My sausage were cold - cooked, but like they'd been sitting too long. And actually, when she brought it out, the bacon was on my plate and the sausage on my sisters. And it looked like they'd originally had it the other way around and had switched them before bringing them out. The multigrain pancakes my sister had tasted sour. Can't figure out what the was, but I sure hope she didn't get sick later. We know we won't be going back. read more
