Went to brunch here with my friend, they were able to seat us in the last available booth very quickly! They had very prompt service, with our food being out about 5 minutes after we had ordered it! Waffle House has always been one of my favorites, I think it's an underrated restaurant. I actually love being able to watch them cook the food in front of you, kind of an American Hibachi? lol, all jokes aside the ambience of an old school diner, is something I enjoy as well. The food was very good & hot! We were able to get in and out quickly, thanks to the fast service. The bill was surprisingly low as well! Only $23 for both of us to have brunch, including our drinks. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an affordable yet hearty meal, make sure to tip your wait staff to show your appreciation as well read more

Waffle House - Pecan Waffle and Drink - Diners Near Me - Collinsville, Illinois

This place was incredible! I can't remember our waitress name but she was soooooo friendly and nice. I didn't even want to leave. She was a 17 year old turning 18 this Christmas, she was such an incredible spirit. She said she wanted to go to visit NYC at some point, I hope she makes it to New York! The food was also very good. It's also a very busy place probably due to it being straight out of the highway but it's well worth it. I would definitely visit again if I'm ever in the area. read more

Arrives was "ok" and I have definitely had better Waffle House food but it wasn't the worst either. Very average for this chain.

This location stays quite busy! It was a noisy diner; there were some food crumbs left on our table and the waitress refused to wipe the table . She said she just did and proceeded to take our drink order. She obviously had an attitude today. Food was mediocre. Sausage is not real pork sausage! Our waffle turned out piping hot. They use a "whipped spread" for butter. Our waitress kept our drinks refilled. Overall, I hadn't eaten at a Waffle House in several years; the food was mediocre at best. read more

We have never been to a Waffle House before. The food was great!! And our server was beyond amazing! I wish I had gotten her name, but she's very young with blonde hair and has a nose ring (that doesn't matter to me at all, only just giving a description of her since I don't know her name). I hope she sees this, because I really want her to know how friendly and welcoming she was to us and our 4 kids!! The only reason we went there was because we were doing a Route 66 trip and we wanted to eat somehow other than Denny's. I'm glad we picked Waffle House. read more

I think this was only my second Waffle House Experience and it was great! We got seated in a booth after a short 5 minute wait. Coffee was in front of me a minute after that. The service was great! The team was cohesive and worked well together. The waffle was good, it was thinner than I'm used to. The bacon stole the show. It was AMAZING! Flavorful and cooked beautifully! Great service, great food! read more

It was my first time with the opportunity to go to too Waffle House. I know my family thinks I'm nuts, but it was spectacular!!! Lol. I got the hash with cheese and onions, the waffle was amaze balls, and how can you hate sausage?! The staff was wonderful, the place was so cute and busy! I wish I had more time to go a second time but convincing my peeps to go seemed like an ordeal. I guess I'm just weirdo for the classics that we don't get on the west coast. Until we meet again Waffle House lol. read more

Review Visit: December 30th, 2012 I've been here multiple times and never had the waffles. Yet. My first real visit to a Waffle House was during my trip to Florida in 2012. It was at the tail end of a great night... and with it being Spring Break, it was quite a hopping place with party people everywhere. It was such a good time that I didn't get photos while there. So a bunch of us ended up visiting one later that year on a trip to St. Louis. This visit was at the end of a long day exploring around St. Louis. We were hungry, slightly tired and ready for a break from driving and sightseeing. If I remember right, I had been the only to try a Waffle House, so my friends were in for a treat. We stopped around 10pm and it was slow. Staff was quick to seat us and get our drinks. While everyone deliberated on what to order, I went for what I had in Panama City Beach. The TEXAS BACON LOVERS BLT! So we all ordered food and waited. If you have ever been to a Waffle House, you'll know the food comes out quick and the prices are cheap, cheap, cheap! This visit was no exception. They also shout orders at the chefs, which enhances the experience. The Texas BLT was just as good as I hazily remembered. Ying loved the bacon so much (can't blame her) that she ordered a bunch to go. Everyone else enjoyed their meal, too. Since this visit, I have been back to another Waffle House and it was just as good. People I've talked to either love or hate Waffle House, so you may not share the same praise I have for the place. But it is my favorite fast food diner chain. read more

Went in for a late afternoon lunch at 3pm, and it was not busy for a change. It was exactly what I wanted, the staff was friendly and talkative, the place seemed to be in good order (I just walked in and sat at the bar, and didn't really look around). I got my food fast, made to order, and it was a good as I remember, though much more expensive than I remember. I know this is 1 of 2 locations in the entire state, and I am glad to see its still here and still doing well, top breakfast food spot, one day I'll try the lunch menu....one day read more

Nasty attitude of waitress! Sit down in the booth sun was in our eyes. We adjusted the shade a waitress immediately snapped and said we were not to touch it. It could possibly fall on our head. If you have faulty equipment, you need to fix it then she refused to wait on us. Didn't get an opportunity to tell her the silverware she put on the table was dirty. The men's room was dirty. There was urine all over the floor according to my husband. read more

For literal YEARS I have been anti Waffle House. I've had it in many states + it just never hit for me like it seems to for others. Maybe it's because most people I know grew up with it + it's a cultural staple... but its always been, MEH for me lol Well, here I am stating that this trip to St Louis may have changed my mind about that. My brother wanted to visit since we don't have WH in California + I didn't want to be the reason he couldn't go, so I sucked it up + we pulled up (once turned into twice). First visit I ordered the All-star breakfast with a regular waffle, bacon, over medium eggs, smothered + covered hash browns + a biscuit and let me tell you something... that biscuit + bacon SHMACKED! Lol I seriously don't know what they did, but that was some of the best bacon ive ever had. The flavor was hittin + the biscuit was perfectly fluffy while still crispy on the outside. The waffle was good too, thats one thing I always gave WH... I mean, as it should be LOL I wish they'd put more cheese on the hash browns, but those were crispy, just as I like them. Overall, I can't say I wasn't satisfied. The second time we went was late night + we ordered to go. I got the cheesesteak melt + maaaaannnnnnn! Throw a little mayo + ketchup on there + you're DEFINITELY going to enjoy it! If nothing else, I highly recommend that sandwich!!! The service was good on both visits + the food came out pretty quickly each time. Hats off to STL because before, I was talking mad trash about WH lol Now I might actually be a fan... read more

Worse Waffle House ever. The staff has the nastiest attitudes. Asked for large plate to share meal and requested over medium egg. They talked about us and we heard everything they said. Refused to give us a large plate and bad mouthed us that we returned the gross runny egg that was no way near over medium. Disgusting. Unprofessional and embarrassing. I actually feel sorry for the big mouth cooking the food. Won't probably amount to much in life due to her nasty disposition. Being kind is a whole lot easier. read more

Okay, I am admittedly a Waffle House fan boy. I know a lot of people throw shade at WH, but the fact is, most of the time, you know what you are walking into when you walk into a WH. I happen to like the food and with few exceptions it is at least adequate, if not actually good! I've eaten at so many Waffle Houses across the nation I have a really good handle on what makes a good WH and what makes a bad one. This location in Collinsville, falls firmly into that "good one" bucket. It was clean, the waitstaff was super friendly, they got my order correct, and the food was cooked properly and came out super fast. So, if you are a WH fan or even are lukewarm towards the brand, I would not hesitate to try this one. You will not be disappointed! read more

My food was good but I know if I end up sick today it's because of how I saw the grill area I didn't see the grills clean I seen some workers touching raw eggs the straight to cooked meet without changing gloves I would suggest their team starts to steam clean the grills I see they change gloves but it needs to happen more in my opinion if you have allergies to certain meats and what not this place is not for you and they need a bit more seating to serve to the flow of people that come through the door read more

wouldn't be a road trip South without a Waffle house stop. The food is classic no matter where you go it will be the same Good it does change with seasons but always excellent. Behind the counter it runs like a fine oiled machine read more

Okay, five stars for a Waffle House seems extremely generous but from the friendly greeting to a wonderful server to my order being perfect? How could I not let them know how much this property impressed me. Kristen was happy smiles and solid attention to detail. The restaurant was clean and organized and my food was great. read more

I am giving this waffle house no stars. From the moment we arrived we were not greeted and they didn't clean any of the empty tables for to sit down. When we asked to have the tables clean, we were looked at as if we cussed them out. Now the real crap started we wait 30 minutes for service and when asked we were met with so much attitude when as if our order could be taken. We were so disrespected that I vowed to never eat at another waffle house ever and to ensure I inform everyone I know to boycott this restaurant for they don't care about the people they serve. These employees have no customer service skills and I guess your company should start with hiring people who know how to do customer service and know that they representing the waffle house brand and not their ghetto attitudes of just here for the check. After 45 minutes of disrespect we took our money elsewhere and in the future we shall do the same and boycott your restaurants. My advice to anyone is to avoid this waffle house and others due to who you are hiring. Never been treated like this. read more

We don't have a Waffe House in our state so whenever we see one on our travels, we make an effort. You always know what the food will taste like. We had the pecan waffle and although you can't see the pecans trust me they are there! Had my fav, hash browns smothered and covered! This was a newer place so everything was clean. They had plastic between the Botha and stools not in use. Our waitress was friendly. Food came out in a quick minute and coffee was great. For the price you can't beat it. read more

As I'm sitting waiting on my table with my husband a server named Sonya was screaming at my 19 year old daughter who has been working there about 2 weeks like she was a prisoner in jail and threatened to "take her out front" in front of and to customers. When I stated we were her parents she started screaming at me that she shouldn't be so hateful. Funny thing is she was the only employee in the building being hateful. Very disappointed. Never thought I'd seen her do that, especially to my kid and not care. read more

Five stars. 10/10 rating by our kids. Good food, very clean and the staff was very friendly and accommodating.

If I could give this zero stars I absolutely would, I legitimately thought I was going to die after eating their bacon egg and cheese breakfast melt, it hit me in the parking lot and I thought it was just the food settling, but after about five minutes of driving I immediately had to pull over into the near gas station and projectile vomit into the toilet, this experience has not just tarnished my opinion on this location but the entire Waffle House brand, Never Again! read more

I had never been to a Waffle House before so I had zero expectations. I got a chicken Texas sandwich which was great once she recommended the Waffle House sauce. I spent many years in the south so Waffle House is a staple of my diet. They are also one of the most consistent chain restaurants I know. So, as usual, the food at Collinsville Waffle House was excellent. Eggs were perfectly over easy. Hash browns were crispy, as I ordered. The waffle was wonderful. The sausage was as good as I've ever had. The service was quick, friendly and efficient. The store was clean. Thank goodness for Waffle House! read more

Waitress was Julie and cook was "Ol Dusty" (i think thats what the nametag said. March 2018--Excellent cook at this location. Really seems to care about his job. Waitress is nice but needs to pay more attention. To customers, to what she's putting on the table and missing putting on the table, and also how she's adding up the bill. I guess it was the novelty that had me wanting some breakfast here. We attended a wedding in St. Louis and were in desperate need of some noms before heading back to Chicago. My parents have always told me Waffle House is like Denny's at best. This visit changed my mind. I'm a big steak and eggs kind of guy so I went with the steak & eggs with some hash browns and toast. I added some tabasco and it hit the spot. My friend across had the chocolate chip waffle. I tasted it and we both agreed it was good. For the price the food is tasty. What made it even better was the service. As crowded as it was our waitress checked on us multiple times and gave us refills. Thumbs up!!!' read more

I love Waffle House, but this one was easily one of the best. My party of 6 all sat up at the bar on a busy morning. I am a huge fan of WH, but this location is a total disaster. We must have walked in, during a shift change, as while there were plenty of people behind the counter: nothing was getting done. Our waitress at one point put on gloves and starting cooking? We ordered 3 All-stars, that typically get knocked out within 10 min. Well, it wasn't even close. Food was ok, but two of us got waffles before rest of order; which came 10 min later. One gal, started washing dishes and sprayed my coffee and tabletop with water off a pan. She then suggested I move to a table. I suggested she aim the sprayer the other way! The food as always in on point, but sheesh, improve the service. read more
