Well, as far as Denny's goes this one is pretty average. Not terrible and not great either. I stop by for pick up orders frequently on my way back and forth to Omaha. I like the tilapia Ranchero dinner. It's one of the few things I enjoy at any Dennys. One gripe I have is that they always seem to forget something. Usually the tartar sauce on this fish place that I get. The restaurant is usually never busy, and it is well kept. The staff are courteous and friendly. read more

Giving them the benefit of the doubt after the first time, we stopped by for a second time. The service the first time was terrible due to being extremely short handed. Unfortunately, it was worse the second (and final) time. I'd ordered online and waited for probably 10 minutes before anyone even came to the front desk. I told the guy I'd ordered online and he ran back to check on my order. Another 5-10 minutes went by before he came back to tell me they were out of what I'd ordered. So, I changed my order, which was another 10 minutes before he came out with the 2 burgers I'd ordered. I checked the order to make sure it was right and the fries were practically cold. This place poisoned me. Three hours ago we ate here. As I was finishing my fit slam I noticed several grapes were moldy. I pointed it out and was told all their produce was in bad shape. I was offered 15% off. Three hours later my stomach is hurting and I have rotten egg burps. I will be calling the health department. Serving your customers moldy food is a cardinal sin. The fact she knew it was bad and still served it. I shouldn't have tipped at all. We stopped at Denny's in North Platte for a quick lunch. Out of 4 orders they only got the kids meal correct and even then we never got syrup for the pancakes. The waitress was new and no one seemed to be helping her. The manager was no where to be seen until I asked that part of the meal be comped. read more

I went here for food since I had to stop for the night for 10hr break and immediately I was racially profiled by one of the waitresses she told her co worker she was off of work at 7pm and was not gonna serve me mind u at the time it was 658pm. So I will do separate reviews, but this one goes out to the chef and SELECT staff that have been there this week! The past 4 Denny's locations we have been to were absolute trash, incorrect orders, slow service and very small portions. This specific location has AMAZING portion sizes and the food is always A+++. Even on busy days the chef is serving amazing meals. Today I believe the manager and the chef were cooking in the back and did an amazing job! Very impressed! We have had 2 servers in the past 3 days that we really enjoyed service from, one had blonde hair and rose tattoos on her arm and the other had brunette hair and tattoos as well, those girls were amazing, even on busy days they weren't making excuses, kept our drinks filled, checked in on us at least 2 times, got us all of our condiments and had our check out at the perfect time. 2nd review is for 1 specific staff member. I'd probably give this a 1 star on service. Older woman with dark grey hair. My husband is a very patient man but for some reason this lady is slow every time we go. I waited 17 minutes for syrup that she would 'take 1 second' on getting, ended up reaching over the counter myself to grab it.. listened to her repeat at least 7 times that she was the only person there and heard her say it many times to other people (even yelled at a man who was waiting a very long time as well). She doesn't work very well under pressure and can't multi-task very well, I feel like the food industry is a bit much for her. Its clear that she's the only one but why does she keep repeating it to each customer more than 5 times, does she want us to feel guilty for being there? Looking for pitty? Sympathy? I worked in the food industry and I know what it's like to have employees call off and be the only one working. I would of at least seated a few gentleman who were waiting for so long and got a few people checked out and on their way out ASAP. It was just excuse after excuse with this lady and I'm not putting her name incase she wants to take this as constructive criticism and hope that maybe this will light a fire under her a**. Nobody has it easy, if someone calls out, work faster, don't try to make your customers feel bad for being there, just step up on your game and show everyone how bad a** you can work under pressure. Also heard them talking about taking turns with getting people checked out? What happened with putting the customer 1st and just getting them on their way when you clearly have a minute to spare? Doesn't make sense. Get them in and seated as fast as you can and checked out as fast as you can, that's how you keep a steady work flow. read more

Where to begin ?!? I was served a frozen cold veggie patty , yes someone in the kitchen assembled a uncooked veggie patty complete with cold cheese and served it. I let the waiter know , he touched the patty with his finger and laughed said oh wow! The most mind boggling thing is they took my plate back heated same product up and brought back same burger that had been touched by waiter ( a piece I tore off was still on plate) complete with microwaved lettuce tomato and pickle ! Yuck !!!! I just looked at it . We payed our 85$ bill as we had a party of 7 ( everyone was served a cold meal) they did not discount the disgusting burger and I am not the type to make a scene . Let's start off by saying the waitress with the rose tattoo on her right arm is the best waitress we have ever had at Denny's. As soon as she seats us she gets our drinks and takes our order and after a few min while our drinks are almost done she comes back and refills them. I don't know why but this is an extremely important part of my dining experience anywhere. There was one girl who helped us the day before who looked a little older but the wait was terrible and it took her 10+ min to grab anything we needed and on top of that we had to wait 15 min to get our check and pay. The food however was excellent perfectly cooked every time and they were not shy about the servings. Just wish management would hire more people so you don't have to wait 30 min to be seated 30 min to place your order wait 30 min to get your food and 15 min to pay. Truckers can't wait that long! This was a beyond horrible experience. We are traveling and did an online pick up order. As a family of 5, we understand if things are incorrect or missing... but both? So ridiculous. Worst dinner and service ever. Order was done wrong, lettuce in my salad was turning black and slimy. When I asked for a new salad I was told that a the only lettuce they had. We were the only ones in the place and it still took almost 35 minutes just to get our food after it was ordered. My husband asked for no chorizo in his order and it came out with double. Another party of people came in and did nothing but loudly speak obscenities the rest of our meal. When we asked to talk to a manager we were told that they don't have one on at night... and as a server he could only give us 15% off our meal. The server wouldn't leave us alone and hovered around our table, talking and making excuses for all the issues, as well as telling us that if we had come in during the day it's even worse... and that he doesn't expect it to be opened in the next few years because he knows it sux so bad. We had to ask him to leave us alone so we could try to finish some of what we could salvage of our meals because we were so hungry and tired from our trip and needed to continue. He was down right creepy. We didn't know we were in North Platte until after we started eating or we would have tried the Pennys Dinner down the road. ..we were told on our previous trip that was the best place in town We even saved another customer the issue of eating at this Dennys. .. Truck stop in a snow storm. They make a decent burger and Mom was impressed with her breakfast at 9 pm. East access to and from the parking lot. Clean and decorated for the season. Nathan was our waiter and he did his best to make sure we had everything we asked for. I have stopped before and will continue to in the future. Took 45 minutes + to be sat. Ordered a milkshake and they were out of milk. Waitress was training someone and kept yelling at her to go to things. Yelling heard in the kitchen. Our order (for 11 people) was put in half and half as to "not overwhelm the kitchen." Half of us were done eating when the other half got their food. Took 2+ hours when it was all said and done. Pulled in to North Platte after a long shift behind the wheel and went into Denny's to get takeout. Ordered the spaghetti. Worst idea ever. The noodles weren't cooked all the way, barely any sauce, the meatballs were still cold and the garlic bread, oh wait, what "Garlic Bread!" Yep, no garlic bread. WTF? And to top it all off, it came in one of those cardboard container's. Who in there right mind would put spaghetti in a cardboard box I ask ya, Who? This location, that's who. I created a Yelp account just to write a negative review of this place. That right there should warn you of what's to come. The first red flag was the time it took to get drinks. We got seated and sat...and sat, until the manager finally came over to help us get served after watching us from sitting and folding silverware for a few minutes. The lady that actually took our drinks and food order was nice, and I can't fault her. Apparently she was on break though, and had to pick up the slack for her other teammate. The food didn't take too long to get out, but it was bland as all hell. My meal had toast that I wound up not finishing because of the suckitude, and I required ketchup to finish my hashbrowns. I also witnessed the manager playing the host TWICE. It's good that she was doing that, but that shouldn't have to be her job to do the hosts' job (I don't even know where the host was supposed to be. The final nail in the coffin was not getting a discount for waiting. The manager mentioned that we should get a discount. We rang up under her and didn't get one (unless you count not paying for your drinks as a "discount"). Did I mention that my friend got coke, and I got water. You know! Water. The stuff that's normally free. Whoop de doo! Also, I overheard the manager telling other guests that they don't even offer a straight senior discount. What a crock of shit! I gave no tip, which is something I normally don't do. Seeing as how I went out of my way to go to Denny's, I have to say that I regret it. I had some bad reviews floating in the back of my mind when we came, but I pushed them out of my mind. I will NEVER return unless I hear they're under less shitty management and staff. It I could give this place NO stars, I would. This is the VERY worst place I believe I have every tried to eat at. Note - tried. Late, and we just ordered soup and salad. Came out while in the restroom and stated to my father they didn't have the dressing to make a Caesar salad so he told them blue cheese would be OK. Then I wondered how they are going to do that - really a regular salad w/blue cheese dressing. OK. THEN, they came out and stated they didn't have the lettuce and such to make the salad could they use the greens from the Caesar salad. Ask them to just bring the soup. The soup make it out after about 40 minutes, and not really hot! Got the bill prior to asking if we would like more soup (original 2 items for $6) . So they changed the bill to reflect $4.99 a bowl! I stated to the young lady that I was willing to pay for 2 soups for $6 and a soda - that's it. She did then state she could take 20% off. I ask to speak to the manager. All I heard was it was someone else's fault for not having proper stock and the weather. I told him that he is the leadership and manager and his responsibility to lead not to have the servers back in the kitchen trying to figure out how to serve what one ordered. Maybe take inventory of what they had and make a short menu for the night and post it as you walk in. He stated the truck was due in the next day. I would have fired him - in the end we didn't even pay for the anything. I did leave a good tip for the server since she was really trying. While we sat there - we over heard other conversations. Such as: been a real experience, or can't believe this one. And then again in the breakfast room at the La Quinta across the highway where we stayed it was the item that was discussed again. We got the Baja burger, spaghetti & the appetizer sampler and when we picked it up it was all hot fresh and really very tasty. They didn't have chicken wings & it took the waitress 20 minutes to inform us. One of my family members found hair in her burger. They messed up on orders. They are claiming they are busy but I been to busier restaurants & they always took care of their customers. I'll never come to this restaurant ever again. I do not recommend to go to no matter what.
