We had a great meal here on a busy Friday night with our family and some friends. The food and the staff were both excellent. There aren't a ton of great dining options in this town, but 3 Margharitas is worth the 3 mile drive from I-80 if you want q good sit down meal. There are tons of drink selections to choose from, and any of the Margharitas are delicious. We also really enjoyed the spicy and mild salsa, it was made fresh. The entrees were generous in size and served very hot from the kitchen. I really enjoyed the tacos al carbon which were excellent. One other thing that is worth mentioning is how big the restaurant is. Plenty of seating options, booths or large tables are available. I think this is a great place for a date, birthday party or other large gatherings... Overall, this is such a great find and we would love to eat here again! read more

Nice ambiance with colorful chairs that the spouses were trying to figure out how to get them out the door without anyone noticing :-) We are from CA and very familiar with good mexican food. We didn't expect to find really good stuff in North Platte NE. We were wrong. The DW's ceviche was fresh, bright, plentiful, spicy and generally as good as any she has ever had. My Molcajete de Mariscos was overflowing with seafood and was almost more than I could finish (but I powered through). Our family of 4 enjoyed a variety of dishes: the shredded beef mole burrito, the steak fajitas, carnitas sopes, and a cold seafood soup. Each of us were pleasantly surprised at the freshness, the flavors, the portion sizes. It was so delicious! Ugh. Why is it so hard to make Mexican taste good in some cities? My partner had bacon wrapped shrimp which were over cooked but ok-ish. The special cream sauce that came with it was the exact same garbage they call their green chili which he unfortunately ordered a side of as well. The chicken taco he got was ok, bland but ok. My chili relleno had a MAYBE two inch by one inch piece of what looked like a canned poblano chili in it. Mind you it wasn't whole, it had been sliced, and cut flat, so even the two inch bit wasn't whole chili. There was almost nothing but fried dough and mounds of chewy cheese. They had to be reminded to bring my guacamole. The queso in the menú picture shows it overflowing with jalapeños. We fished around in it and found exactly two small jalapeño bits. Not even slices. I live in Los Angeles but was passing through north plate on a road trip. We found this place online. I noticed the prices were higher than I expected, but the portions more than make up for it! Im used to LA where food is expensive, mediocre, and small portions. I was blown away by how delicious this food was. I wish I had taken a photo of the food but it looked too tasty to resist. I got the pollo fundido. Best food I've had in a long time. Service was good and I loved the ambiance and decor of the place. As weary road travelers, we were wanting something good, semi-fast, and thankfully, this place was where we landed. Good service, variety of different dishes, and a good portioned kids' menu, enough to satisify my older kids. This is usually not the case at mexican restaurants! Burritos and taco plates were eaten and enjoyed. We were back on the road in no time. Everyone loved what they ordered. Should we pass this way again, we would stop here for sure. *Bonus: My older son left his hat there on the table and did not realize it until we were long gone on the road again. However, an hour and 15 minutes on what they told me would be 30 minutes for delivery, not so good. Whoever answered the phone hung up on me when I called to see if they were having trouble finding my house. The food was cold, congealed sour cream is not very appetizing. And lastly, just what exactly did your driver think he was doing, driving on my lawn to get in front of the door. It's pretty obvious that no one else was parked there. Well folks, this was a treat. I'm giving Margaritas's a 5/5 on two points: their fajitas and their chicken mole. They get 4.5/5 for the tampiquena. Simply put, their fajitas redefine my expectations: no more a boring collection of sautéed onions and green peppers + name ur protein. We ordered chicken and beef. It came seasoned in a red possibility chipotle-like seasoning. This is now The Way . The mole came platted with the tampiquena and stole the show. Fantastic! Sweet smokey but not at all bitter just - legit.. But! The hats off to the tampiquena thinly sliced grilled to perfection with grilled onions: still had a nice crunch. Really outstanding.
