We stopped at San Pedro Mexican Restaurant in North Platte on our way home from the Chase County…read moreFair and had a great experience. We started with the complimentary chips and salsa, which were a perfect start to the meal. I also couldn't pass up the jumbo margarita that was on special. It was cold, refreshing, and definitely lived up to the "jumbo" name! For my meal, I ordered the tamale plate with rice and refried beans. The tamale was delicious, everything came out hot, and the portions were plenty generous. After a few days of fair food and traveling, a good plate of Mexican food really hit the spot. Service was friendly and attentive throughout our visit, and we were able to relax and enjoy our meal before getting back on the road. Great food, good service, complimentary chips and salsa, and a huge margarita--there wasn't much more we could ask for. If you're traveling through North Platte and looking for a good Mexican restaurant, San Pedro is definitely worth a stop. Five stars from us!

Our service was very rude and impatient she would rip the menus from us she was every were else but were we needed her. The Mac and cheese seemed as if it had been sitting on the stove for days and then reheated. We have definitely been to better Mexican restaurants.

Me and my family have been going here to eat after farmers market for about 4 years. The service…read moreis always amazing, the people are amazing, and you're food comes to you pretty quickly. The fact they home make their pico and guac, really keeps me coming back along with the food. The food is great the menu is very large and you get many choices. I recommend this for family's and couples.

The best thing about this restaurant is the friendly service. And a quick survey of the clientele…read moreshows that it is a local favorite. Although it is in a strip shopping row, the venue inside was pure Mexican, even to the point of Telemundo on the TV in Spanish. Prices are low by today's inflationary standards but you get what you pay for sometimes. We found the food mediocre. The rice is pretty bland but the refried beans weren't bad. The street tacos were made with fresh onions and cilantro but the marinated pork was over grilled and a bit dry. The flautas were fried perfectly but the shredded beef was bland. The guacamole had been piped from a pastry bag and was far to lemony.... a trick to make it last longer before it oxidizes. But with the guacamole the flautas were decent. The salsa was flavorful but extremely mild and I can only speculate that is the way the locals like it. And the chips were fairly thick and a bit stale; I couldn't tell if they make them locally or if they come from a restaurant supply store. I tried a frozen Mango marguerita and couldn't taste or feel any alcohol but it was a nice dessert. If you are traveling, this location is quite a ways from the main services at the north end of town where old U.S. 30 passes through. This place is decent if your expectations are not too high. Unfortunately ours were, lol.

It was 9:00pm when we got here, and we're lucky to find one that opens until 10. We wanted…read moresomething light, and have a larger meal for breakfast, since it's late, instead of the normal 2-3 street taco sizes I normally eat, I couldn't decide between tacos, burritos or Taco Salad. I changed my mind 2x, while hubby was ordering. I stayed in the car. I got the Taco Salad. I have forgotten how to eat that, and since we're eating in the comfort of our suite, I started gobbling each section, and instead I should have mixed them all in, and eat them. I did finally enjoyed the rest of them, plus the chips & nacho (melted) cheese that came with our order. Hubby ordered two tacos, and now I know why we got the nacho & cheese, it was part of a combo deal. We didn't get drinks. I was given two types to add to my Taco Salad, their own sauce & a salsa, and I tried them both, but I prefer the salsa. I also prefer my taco salad on my cheese, and I've always like chips, but my salad bowl is a ton MORE crispier, which is a bonus. I made the right choice! I like the fact, they add the calorie content, next to the price tag on their menu. We were out of there, 20 mins. later. Because of that, they should have gotten a 4 star, it's a quickie stop, still and that's the best I can do!
