Great local spot that never disappoints. They are always busy so expect a wait! Our waitress was nice, but had a lot of tables so refills and needs went unnoticed. My husbands & his grandpas go to favorite "Kevin Burger" typical burger with all the toppings. It's your typical diner food with the diner atmosphere, love it! Have never had a bad meal here. Parking lot!

This one is a tricky review to write. On the one hand it was a perfect meal, I left happy and content. On the other hand it wasn't particularly good. It is hard to explain but I will try. First the positives, the food fine/borderline good. And it was cheap. The waitstaff was very nice and everything came out pretty fast. The bad, there wasn't really much bad, there was just an absence of good I guess. The food was just ok mostly. I got a patty melt and the burger patty was tiny but still juice and good, just small for a patty melt. The rye bred was pretty killer but the mashed potatoes were instant. We got breaded mushrooms and they were ok but also some were still frozen at the center. That's kind of the whole story, some great and then an equal part of meh. Another thing to note, I'm 40, but I was at least 20 years younger than the next youngest person in there. It was a veritable sea of retirees. It was busy but i doubt anyone but us ease under 60. That's the kind of place it is. Good not great, cheap not stellar. But that also is what left me extremely happy, some nostalgia, it felt like places my grandparents would take me when I was a kid. It fed my soul in a weird way and made me happy. And I will be back, 100% for sure. I loved it but it also wasn't special and I hope you can understand my trains of thought.

Geez neither us been here for LONG time. Maybe 50 or more years. Pecan pie coming first. Jumbo Shrimp basket with mashed potatoes and corn. Pie is ok. Nice salad and shrimp.

Ummm ya so this place is different from other restaurants BUT THE FRIED CHICKEN IS AS DELICIOUS AS MOVIE THEATER POPCORN. it's straight up perfected like any small town restaurant could ever compete with it. Fast service, friendly people, and a popular place for the townspeople. Fries and mash potatoes are ok nothing special. Not at all like that crusted 100% straight hot fall off the bone chicken. FYI ORDER THE CHILI JUST MEAT AND BEANS THE BEST KIND.

Alas- it was one of the worst eating experiences on our 2 week road trip. Biggest problem- only one server for the entire place and she had to do it all except for actually running the grill. She did try, but could not keep up with a full house on a Friday night for dinner. Took her 10 minutes just to bring menus, and at least a half hour to get food to us. When food was brought out we had an item missing- a shake that was never made or brought to the table even 45 minutes after ordering it. The Philly cheese steak was cold and had clearly been made and stood for some time before being brought out. The BLT was cold, as was the chilli. The chicken on the chicken salad had also clearly sat for quite a while before being delivered to the table. Another big problem was cleanliness. The floor was dirty. The room had flies buzzing around. At one point the server dropped a tray of coffee mugs and clearly broke several. She didn't sweep them up. A few minutes later, a busser came out from the back and kicked a broken piece of cup along the floor. He just left it there rather than picking it up. It was still there in the middle of the floor when we left. They did remove the shake that never came and the 2 items that were cold and not eaten from the bill. I think the server was doing her best but only so much one person can do.

First off my server, Crystal, was great. She was super helpful, very personable, not overbearing - just excellent. I ordered a 10 inch pepperoni and jalapeño pizza and a side of fries. The fries were crinkle cut fries. They don't come salted, which is fine because she told me they didn't and I just added salt myself. There was nothing special about them. They were just crinkle cut fries. The pizza was a hand tossed crust, clearly not frozen or a shell which is delightful. Cheese was good pepperoni was a little crispy, which I really like, but you don't really get a lot and the jalapeños were crispy and zippy. The overall taste was good. The sauce was a little nondescript, but on the whole I thought it was really good. I would definitely get it again if I'm in North Platte. As far as ambience goes, a casual dining spot with a bar. The menu is typical bar food: Sandwiches, hamburgers, fried appetizers, wings pizza.

A choice I regret now. First of all, our server was great and friendly. The restaurant seems nice...The food is pretty pricey. We were planning on eating at several pizza places on this trip so I skipped the pizza on the menu, especially since they run $17 for a small 10in. Instead I ordered a shrimp basket. For $16 I got 6 miniature fried shrimp. Smaller than my thumb, and I have small hands. I've seen kids meals with more food. I finished my shrimp in less than 2 minutes. My basket also came with crinkle cut fries which were just as disappointing as all crinkle cut fries are. Other than the friendly service the only thing that saved this restaurant from getting less than 3 stars was my mom's Huge bowl of clam chowder and salad for $10. The red velvet cake for about $7 was good too. Overall though I wish we had picked a different restaurant as I still left hungry.

The past 4 Denny's locations we have been to were absolute trash, incorrect orders, slow service and very small portions. This specific location has AMAZING portion sizes and the food is always A+++. Even on busy days the chef is serving amazing meals. Today I believe the manager and the chef were cooking in the back and did an amazing job! Very impressed! We have had 2 servers in the past 3 days that we really enjoyed service from, one had blonde hair and rose tattoos on her arm and the other had brunette hair and tattoos as well, those girls were amazing, even on busy days they weren't making excuses, kept our drinks filled, checked in on us at least 2 times, got us all of our condiments and had our check out at the perfect time. 2nd review is for 1 specific staff member. I'd probably give this a 1 star on service. Older woman with dark grey hair. My husband is a very patient man but for some reason this lady is slow every time we go. I waited 17 minutes for syrup that she would 'take 1 second' on getting, ended up reaching over the counter myself to grab it.. listened to her repeat at least 7 times that she was the only person there and heard her say it many times to other people (even yelled at a man who was waiting a very long time as well). She doesn't work very well under pressure and can't multi-task very well, I feel like the food industry is a bit much for her. Its clear that she's the only one but why does she keep repeating it to each customer more than 5 times, does she want us to feel guilty for being there? Looking for pitty? Sympathy? I worked in the food industry and I know what it's like to have employees call off and be the only one working. I would of at least seated a few gentleman who were waiting for so long and got a few people checked out and on their way out ASAP. It was just excuse after excuse with this lady and I'm not putting her name incase she wants to take this as constructive criticism and hope that maybe this will light a fire under her a**. Nobody has it easy, if someone calls out, work faster, don't try to make your customers feel bad for being there, just step up on your game and show everyone how bad a** you can work under pressure. Also heard them talking about taking turns with getting people checked out? What happened with putting the customer 1st and just getting them on their way when you clearly have a minute to spare? Doesn't make sense. Get them in and seated as fast as you can and checked out as fast as you can, that's how you keep a steady work flow.

The place definitely has character - it's vintage with taxidermy everywhere. Polar bear, giraffe, bull, deer heads on the walls. Feels like you're eating in a hunting lodge. *Food*: I ordered the boneless ribeye, medium rare. It was an average steak - easy to chew, but had more fat than I'm used to and the flavor was nothing special. Didn't dislike it, but wouldn't call it memorable. My daughter got the steak sandwich and my wife got the steak burger. We all agreed the food was delicious at the time. *The catch*: A few hours later my wife and daughter both had upset stomachs. I just felt bloated. My son was fine. Could've been a one-off, but worth mentioning. *Price/Service*: Restaurant itself is pricey. Menu items are fair, but the steaks are expensive for what you get. Service was fair - nothing bad, nothing great. If you're passing through I-80 in Paxton and want the experience/vibe, it's a stop. If you're driving out of your way for "best steak in Nebraska", I'd keep going. The taxidermy is the main attraction.
