Oh boy. If you're reading this, you're lost!

Location aside...this is the best Burger & Fries I've had. Fresh Nebraskan beef, cooked to perfection (medium rare). Hot wings were grilled then deep fried. Amazing!

Needed a good spot for a beer, burger, and fries and this was the joint. Not far off i80 and their menu is full of all kinds of things.

Stopped for supper on my trip from Illinois to Colorado. Fun atmosphere, reasonable prices, good food. Will stop again.

Speakeasy is the perfect name for this steakhouse! You walk into an old beat up building through an…read moreold beat up door then immediately walk through a little bit nicer door and bam, you're in a fine dining, white linen table cloth restaurant! Taylor was amazing, our bartender made perfect martinis and the food was off the charts! The shrimp cocktail was six of the biggest shrimp ever, the Chicken Dianne was rich and delicious and hubby's Wagyu Ribeye was spectacular! The show stealer was the pork belly, it was rendered to the perfect melt point with a flavor all it's own, no sweet sauce, just pork! It's in the middle of nowhere but oh so worth the trip!

I always take advantage of that by trying out the local fare. This place was special and deserves all the stars! It is at the corner of 3 or 4 farm roads kind of in the middle of nowhere. You walk through a series of doors before entering the hostess area. It was dim lit as you would expect a speakeasy to be and I was greeted immediately. I was by myself and the bar was open so that's where I went. It was busy and had I been with more people we would have needed a reservation.. it was pretty busy. I ordered the house special drink which was a dirty martini with blue cheese olives and it was perfect. I then ordered the 9oz sirloin which you can have it with just the normal seasoning or they have a list of ways you can get it like Oscar, béarnaise.. etc. I got it with a red wine mushroom reduction and it also comes with a salad and 1 side. All the dressings are house made and I picked mashed potatoes and brown gravy. The steak was cooked just the way I asked which was medium rare, it was juicy, seasoned well and the red wine reduction just added to the deliciousness. The mashed potatoes were buttery, soft, light and airy and the brown gravy wasn't overly salty and was perfect! I would love to bring my wife to this place if I'm ever in that area. I might even take a trip just to go to that place!

First off my server, Crystal, was great. She was super helpful, very personable, not overbearing - just excellent. I ordered a 10 inch pepperoni and jalapeño pizza and a side of fries. The fries were crinkle cut fries. They don't come salted, which is fine because she told me they didn't and I just added salt myself. There was nothing special about them. They were just crinkle cut fries. The pizza was a hand tossed crust, clearly not frozen or a shell which is delightful. Cheese was good pepperoni was a little crispy, which I really like, but you don't really get a lot and the jalapeños were crispy and zippy. The overall taste was good. The sauce was a little nondescript, but on the whole I thought it was really good. I would definitely get it again if I'm in North Platte. As far as ambience goes, a casual dining spot with a bar. The menu is typical bar food: Sandwiches, hamburgers, fried appetizers, wings pizza.

A choice I regret now. First of all, our server was great and friendly. The restaurant seems nice...The food is pretty pricey. We were planning on eating at several pizza places on this trip so I skipped the pizza on the menu, especially since they run $17 for a small 10in. Instead I ordered a shrimp basket. For $16 I got 6 miniature fried shrimp. Smaller than my thumb, and I have small hands. I've seen kids meals with more food. I finished my shrimp in less than 2 minutes. My basket also came with crinkle cut fries which were just as disappointing as all crinkle cut fries are. Other than the friendly service the only thing that saved this restaurant from getting less than 3 stars was my mom's Huge bowl of clam chowder and salad for $10. The red velvet cake for about $7 was good too. Overall though I wish we had picked a different restaurant as I still left hungry.

Unfortunately, that decision turned into a very negative experience. Our server was initially pleasant, but that quickly changed. After paying my tab using my phone, I placed it on the table while continuing to play billiards. When I returned, my phone was gone. Using Find My iPhone, I could see that the device was still located inside the restaurant. I asked the server if she had seen my phone, but she denied any knowledge of it and stated that no one had found a phone--despite the tracker clearly indicating it was there. The following day, I returned in hopes that someone had turned it in. When I approached the same server, she appeared extremely nervous, repeatedly using profanity and running into the kitchen before returning and attempting to change the subject. When I again asked about my phone, I received the same denial. I ultimately left feeling defeated. As a solo traveler, losing my phone caused significant stress--I was unable to access flight information, order transportation, or contact family. All of this occurred over a cracked iPhone that is unusable once reported lost or stolen. Overall, this experience was extremely disappointing and left a very poor impression.
