I tried one of their new items on the new cheesy menu- chicken fried steak. It was thinner and smaller then I expected. Also, having cheese on top of my hash browns was a bit odd. Other then that, i have always loved dennys coffee for some reason and this time it did not disappoint. Hubby & I came here often during a quick few days in Monroeville recently. Standard Denny's, was clean and everyone was friendly. Food and portions were good. Must give special shout out to Joseph who works the late night shift. He was so warm and welcoming, we told him so and also left him a nice tip accordingly. The hostess took our name and asked how many guests but didn't tell us how long of a wait it would be. Once we were seated the waitress asked what we wanted to drink but didn't tell us her name and she had the hostess bring is our drinks. My mom asked if she could have a coffee said shook her head yes but didn't ask how she wanted her coffee. No one goes to Denny's because their excited about it (well most people). Most times I've ever been at a Denny's was because it was 2am and it was the only thing open. My latest venture here was more around midnight and me and my friends were super hungry. The place was pretty empty so we figured the service would be amaze balls. We sat and we sat and we sat some more and eventually our food came. It was obvious that our food sat and it sat and it sat in the back forever. We ate the food and when it came time to pay, I realized I probably should have just skipped Denny's. Apparently every night their cash registers reboot themselves and it did so after the manager slid my friend's card. The manager said it's okay we had to wait about five minutes and he'd swipe it again because he was sure the transaction didn't go through. As someone who worked in customer service for five years, the manager handled the situation completely wrong. A back and forth ensued between the manager and my cousin and he got upset because we got impatient with his nightly cashier woes. The people that sat next to us lost their patience completely and got up and left as their food service takes forever. Don't go here. Worst Denny's ever. My server disappeared on me and I sat there for almost 20 minutes with no one coming over. I needed another drink, I couldn't really finish my dinner and nobody asked me why but I ordered a salad first thinking the salad would come before my dinner. My server brought them out pretty much together. So of course I wanted to eat my salad first and by the time I got to the dinner which I actually rushed to do so it was just barely warm. So I didn't want to finish that. While I was waiting for someone to come over to ask me if I was finished and did I want the check and was everything okay I ended up having to flag someone down. It was like I was completely invisible. I asked if they had a dessert menu. In my lengthy wait I ended up getting online to look up their deserts and I had pictures of what everything should look like. She gave me the menu and I asked for another drink. The drink took forever to come,, she took even longer to come back for my dessert order. I finally told her what I wanted and again it took forever. When she brought it to me it looked nothing like the picture. It was supposed to have caramel sauce on top and some powdered sugar around the apple crisp, it had neither. Instead of one giant scoop of ice cream it had two little pitiful looking scoops on top of some sort of apple crumble that tasted very stale. It wasn't good. Everything I had was not good. It also says you must wear a mask but nobody did. I will not go back to this location. Also my dinner had absolutely no flavor and I've had the same dish at other locations. I recently visited the North Versailles location and ordered salmon, mashed red potatoes with gravy and summer squash. The salmon was extremely dry, my gravy was forgotten entirely and the summer squash was unevenly cooked; not to mention the portion size was abysmal. Worth $15? I think NOT. read more

I LOVE DENNYS . Most often we have a good experience with Michelle (I think that's her name ) However one time ... In September we had a waiter ring us out and he started cussing at the computer like crazy! Then he yelled some more obscenities when trying to find a manager. He rolled his eyes at us the whole entire time while serving us. Needless to say I reported him. They need to hire more people who take pride in their job! This place has great potential ! read more

We stopped at Denny's on our way to Philly and were so pleased with the kind, professional staff. They did a great job with social distancing and their spirits were fun and welcoming. I have never been to an establishment where literally every person hated their job...until I came to this Denny's location. Older lady with dark scrunchy hair was cussing in front of customers about how she "can't do this tonight" and "too many people are here" and she has "too many fu**ing tables." I was told my order was ready and they would be right out. My husband and I came here in the morning on a Sunday before church for breakfast. We weren't expecting anything more than an average, decent breakfast. We were warmly greeted and seated by a nice gentleman that was making light hearted conversation. While we waited for our waitress to return, the gentleman that seated us came back over and continued to chat with us and offered to get us drinks. At this point, I had to take note of the mans name: Joseph. I'm not sure exactly what Joseph's job was.. Because he seemed to be doing everything: waiter, host, kitchen, cleaning. This guy took his job so seriously and brought excellent to what would have just a decent visit. Our food was served hot and was delicious. Our actual waitress was friendly too. Gave it another go and I was, once again, extremely disappointed. The wait staff was slow and not very welcoming. Our food took forever to come out and at the end of our meal we basically had to beg for the check. It took out waitress 15 minutes to get it to us. We were there on 4/25/15. My husband tried to use his AARP card on our $20 check. A whole $2 discount. The manager implied that his card was a fake. He's had this card for 13 years. Who knew there was such a thing as a faked AARP card. Customer service at this location was very poor. read more

This place used to irk me with horrible service and was cold. They turned this place upside down it's remodeled and great new chef!! He is funny attentive and great cook! I didn't catch his name he was dark skinned and middle aged. Even came to the table to ask us about our food! They even sit couples in more private places which is awesome! They gutted there waitress team and they are more mild tempered and the new model job drove out the late bar rush they used to get !
